Abstract: A double-edged razor blade including: a first unit blade having a first cutting edge; a second unit blade having a second cutting edge; a first connecting portion connecting one side of the first unit blade with one side of the second unit blade; a second connecting portion connecting the other side of the first unit blade with the other side of the second unit blade; a pair of first notches forming a boundary between the first unit blade and the first and the second connecting portions, and guiding breakage of the first unit blade; and a pair of second notches forming a boundary between the second unit blade and the first and the second connecting portions, guiding breakage of the second unit blade.

Abstract: A protective riser guide for scissors is provided in the present disclosure. In certain embodiments, the protective riser guide is integrally formed with an arm of a pair of scissors. In other embodiments, the protective riser guide is removably attached to the exterior surface of a scissor arm. Preferably, the protective riser guide is in the shape of an arc extending away from the interior surface of the arm if the guide is integrally formed with the arm, or from the exterior surface if the guide is removably attached to the exterior surface. Due to the shape and position of the protective riser guide on the arm of a pair of scissors in certain embodiments, the protective riser guide is ergonomic and increases the safety of the operator of the scissors without interfering with the operator's cutting techniques.

Abstract: A nail clipping system comprises two opposed surfaces (relatively flat, curved or ergonomically or functionally non-planar) hinged at one end. The hinge may be a living hinge made from the same or similar structural material as the opposed surfaces, or may be a spring-loaded hinge connecting the two opposed surfaces. Associated with an upper one of the opposed surfaces is at least one (relatively) downward exterior plate, and associated with a lower one of the opposed surfaces is at least one (relatively) upward interior plate directly opposed to a downward exterior plate. The at least one downward exterior plate has a slot therein accessible to finger nails. The slot may be linear or curved (to accommodate the curve of nails). The at least one upward interior plate has a blade element that slides along an interior surface of the downward exterior plate and across the slot therein.

Abstract: An improved pair of scissors comprises two opposing and pivotally connected sharp-edged blades configured to allow cutting a nail of a toe or a finger, wherein at least one blade comprises at least one guard configured to lie between a tip of the finger or toe and a bottom of the nail, when the finger or toe tip rests on a blade comprising a guard, and a tip of the nail is placed between the blades.

Abstract: A nail clipper configuration accommodates permanent three dimensional covers on the front of the nail clipper by limiting the necessary movement of the operating handle to move from the stored position to the operating position.

Abstract: A nail clipping apparatus for cutting a fingernail, thumbnail, or toenail nail of a user, comprising a base having an upstanding support member and a nail clipper disposed on the support member, wherein the nail clipper has a rotatable cutter head actuated to cut the user's nail by pivoting movement of a lower clipper arm upwardly toward and an upper clipper arm on which the cutter head resides, wherein the upper clipper arm is connected to the support member and wherein the lower clipper arm is connected to an actuating member that extends in front of the cutter head were a nail positioning pad is disposed on the actuating member adjacent the cutter head and where a user pushes downwardly on the actuating member to move the lower clipper arm upwardly toward the upper clipper arm to actuate the cutter head to cut a nail positioned in the cutter head.

Abstract: The disclosure provides nail clippers having a pair of jaws shaped to provide oppositely disposed arcuate cutting edges and biased to an open position with a shield extending around and projecting forwardly of the corners of the cutting edges. The shield also can extend rearwardly from the cutting edges to form manipulating levers for operating the jaws. These can be aesthetically designed to provide the nail clippers with the appearance of an animate object such as a butterfly, or an inanimate object such as a vehicle.

Abstract: A nail trimmer for enabling a person to comfortably trim toenails without having to take on an awkward or uncomfortable posture. The nail trimmer has a long extension housing, which has a handle at its upper end and a trimmer unit at its lower end. A battery operated motor and on/off switch are incorporated into the handle end. A detachable trimmer unit is connected at the lower end. A dado cutting blade and a gear unit are enclosed in the trimmer unit. An opening in the trimmer unit housing provides access to the cutting edge of the blade.

Abstract: An unfolding device for forming, after unfolding, a razor handle having a head suitable for carrying a shaving cutting element, comprises:(a) a first part and a second part connected to the first part by a pivot line;(b) a retaining means designed to be at least partly destroyed, and(c) two folding lines each extending from an edge of the first part up to an edge of the second part, the said lines being at least partly curved in the first part and in the second part in order to form, after folding, two lateral skirtings.

Abstract: A hollow cylindrical rod having a tapered end is shaped to include a soft tissue depressor and separator surface and a safety knife surface. The safety knife surface is composed of a cutting edge placed within the port so that it only cuts portions of the ingrown nail within the port as the device is pulled away. The separator surface depresses and separates the soft tissue to expose the ingrown nail portion and maintains separation from the blade during cutting and space for cut nail fragments without contacting the soft tissue. The device may include a serrated surface to smooth any burrs from the cut nail surface. The tapered end can be angled or rotated around the cylindrical axis to increase separation or expose the knife blade to new nail portions while maintaining the separation between nail and soft tissue.

Abstract: A throw away razor type eyebrow trimmer having a narrow straight cutting surface has front and rear guards to reduce the danger of cutting the skin with the sharp edge of a razor blade. The guards pull the skin tight between the guards to render the trimming more manageable and precise. The eyebrow trimmer consists of three basic elements, (1) the razor blade, (2) the front safety head guard for the razor, and (3) the rear safety head guard. In use, the front safety head guard depresses and stretches the skin between it and the rear safety head guard which rides above the razor blade thus facilitates easier and better removal of hair. The eyebrow trimmer is mounted at a comfortable operating angle on a handle having a textured grip for easy holding and manipulation of the eyebrow trimmer, and by using a mirror the party using the trimmer can have a clear view of the eyebrow curving and trimming operation as it progresses.

Abstract: Provided is a clipper for a nail made of a pair of cooperative jaws having sharpened edges which register by activating a lever member, the jaws having a normal tendency to separate, the lever member being mounted hingedly and turnably onto a means connecting said jaws for directing a force from said lever member to close said jaws, one of said jaws having a means for spacing said jaw a fixed distance from an interface between a distal part of said nail and skin, another of said jaws having a means for compressing said nail against said means for spacing, each of said jaws having a concave curvature and said jaws also exhibiting respective mating convex and concave edges.

Abstract: An elongated handle having top and bottom surfaces and defining front and rear end portions. The handle includes top and bottom surfaces and opposite side surfaces as well as a transversely enlarged head on the front end thereof. The head includes a longitudinally convex bowed and generally transversely straight bottom surface portion and a central upstanding opening is formed through the head and opens upwardly through the top surface of the handle and downwardly through the bottom surface portion rearwardly of the front end of the head. A transverse roller is journaled in the opening between the front and rear limits thereof and a cutting blade is supported from the head and defines a rearwardly and downwardly facing straight transverse cutting edge generally flush with the aforementioned undersurface portion and spaced intermediate the roller and the forward extremity of the opening.
