The distal end of the dilator defines a leading surface that is shaped to force away portions of a lesion surrounding the guide-wire away from the guide-wire as the distal end is advanced over the guide-wire through the lesion, whereby a channel through the lesion is at least partially dilated.

The inventive device includes a handle, a cutter for cutting handle slots, and an exacto knife. In use, the Handle Cutter Assembly is pushed against a wall of material such as cardboard or the like. Since the surface area of the cutting edge is reduced due to the high or pointed edges along with the low edges, the cutter readily penetrates the surface of the material. As the cutter is pushed through the material, the low edges approach and eventually cut as well. The cutter does not go completely around as in an oval, but rather it is shaped like a "C" and has one side left open. This remaining open side consequently does not cut the material adjacent to this area of the cutter for the purpose of leaving the material intact and to be folded over.

In one embodiment, an ejector rod is slidably positioned inside the cutting tube and an ejector sleeve is slidably positioned on the outside of the cutting tube. The ejector rod is coupled to the sleeve by a screw through a slot in the cutting tube. The ejector tube is spring loaded so that the separated core may be ejected from the cutting tube by sliding the ejector rod toward the cutting end. A spring return returns the rod and sleeve to a rest position. In another embodiment, the ejector rod is actuated separately from the sleeve to eject the core and the sleeve is then actuated to eject the meat. The sleeve and rod are compression spring loaded to restore the rod and sleeve to the initial position.

    Abstract: An improved bowler's tape tool includes a curved tool portion with an enlarged handle portion. A knife edge is formed at one end of the curved tool portion. The knife edge is smaller than the curved tool in both radial thickness and circumferential extent. The knife edge can be placed behind the tape in a bowler's thumb hole for removal of the tape. The curved tool is utilized to apply new tape within the thumb hole. The handle facilitates easy gripping and movement of the tool to either apply or remove the tape. In other aspects of this invention, the handle portion extends radially outwardly for a greater distance then the curved tool portion. This ensures that the user is able to properly control the curved tool portion and apply the required forces for application or removal of the tape. Further, the curved tool portion is preferably formed with a radius of curvature that is smaller than the radius of curvature of the thumb hole such that the tool can be easily moved within the thumb hole.
