Abstract: A method of wrapping and protecting utensils from being contaminated by dirt and bacteria includes wrapping only that portion of the utensil that is to come in contact with a users mouth. The wrap may include plastic film, foil or paper. By wrapping only that portion of the utensil the comes in contact with the users mouth, the utensils can be held in the unwrapped portion of the utensil that does not come in contact with a user's mouth by automated manufacturing equipment to move, wrap and pack utensils without the need for human handling. The use of significantly less wrapping material greatly reduces the cost of the wrapping while allowing machines to handle the utensils thereby eliminating the possibility of contamination to the utensils caused by human handling. A two-part container is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6754966
Abstract: Disclosed is a wienie roaster with prongs that may be folded back. The prongs are pivotly received by a head, and the head is attached at the end of a roaster stalk. The prong has a continuous curve as it enters the head which produces friction to hold the prongs at an adjustable angle away from or towards the roaster stalk. The bore in the head may have beveled, oval-shaped openings, so that the curved base of the prong notches into place in extended and folded back positions. The roaster may also have a tension shoe for applying and distributing pressure on the prongs and a notch in the prongs for receiving the tension shoe. A hole in the top of the head allows lubricant, such as oil or fat from cooking food, to enter the head and lubricate the base of the prong and the tension shoe. Abstract: A cup of plastics material incorporating foaming agents has thin wall portions, namely a base (101), a lower side wall (102) and an upper side wall (103). These portions have their wall thickness determined by mold part gap. The cup also has thick wall portions, namely the corner (104), the band (105) and the rim (106), in which foaming occurs after mold opening so that the wall thickness is increased beyond that provided by the mold.

Abstract: The foldable flatware utensil includes a shank with an integral spoon bowl, knife or fork. An elongated handle has an end that is telescopically connected to an end of the shank. A bore in the shank is aligned with a bore in the handle when assembled for use. A line has one end anchored in the bore in the shank. Another end of the line holds a portion of the line in the bore in the shank. If the line is elastic, the handle is urged toward the shank for use and stretches to permit the handle to be disengaged from the shank and folded for storage. If the line is inelastic, a sleeve is retained on the line and fixed in the bore in the handle. When removing the handle from the use position, a portion of the line is pulled through the sleeve and permits the handle to be folded for storage. A detent maintains a connection between the handle and the shank if needed.
