Patent number: 11858157Abstract: A shaving implement comprises a cutting portion and an end portion. Further, the cutting portion transitions between a straight configuration and a bent configuration based on an application of an external force on the cutting portion. forming a bend in the cutting portion characterized by a curvature and a direction. Further, transitioning the cutting portion from the configuration to the straight configuration comprises removing the bend. Further, the cutting portion is not transitionable between the straight configuration and the bent configuration without the application of the external force. Further, the cutting portion comprises a blade slot for receiving a blade. Further, the cutting portion curves the blade in a blade shape based on the forming of the bend. Further, the end portion removably holds the cutting portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2022Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Inventors: Jonathan Abraham Trichter, Jesus J. Valle

Patent number: 8561302Abstract: This invention, through a novel arrangement of basic elements, has resulted in a brand new tool not previously available. This non-obvious implementation provides an electromechanical machine which is both useful and is easily operated. This invention can be arranged as a cutting device for cutting various items such as, but not limited to, plastic irrigation pipe and tree branches or, alternately, with a jaw attached in place of the cutting blade as a clamp or wrench. It accomplishes this by using a small battery powered electric motor and through appropriate reduction gearing drives a drive screw to produce a linear motion of a cutter blade or jaw. The mechanical advantages afforded by the reduction gearing and the drive screw produce sufficient force to perform as a powerful cutter or wrench/clamp.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2013Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Inventor: Frank August Barcatta

Patent number: 7308763Abstract: A sealant cutting tool including a handle defining a blade slot. Also included is a clamping bolt having a clamp axis transverse the blade slot, which clamping bolt is threadably engaged with the handle. In addition, a “T” pull is operatively associated with the clamping bolt so that rotation of the “T” pull around the clamp axis causes a distal end of the clamping bolt to move relative to the blade slot. The sealant cutting tool may include a blade received in the blade slot in operative association with the clamping bolt. In addition, the “T” pull may include an engagement head operatively associated with a proximal end of the clamping bolt. The clamping bolt may include a noncylindrical shoulder received through a mating, noncircular opening formed in the engagement head. Thus, the noncircular opening may be selectively engaged with the noncylindrical shoulder, allowing the “T” pull to be selectively engaged or disengaged from the clamping bolt.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2005Date of Patent: December 18, 2007Assignee: Patents Holding CompanyInventor: Michael J Glodowski

Patent number: 7134209Abstract: A pizza cutter has a hollow semi-circular shaped handle having a convex curved radiused top edge to facilitate use and reduce hand stress. A removable cutter wheel has outwardly extending axles having protrusions on the outer ends thereof that have a snap fit relationship with recesses on the inner surfaces of the handle whereby the cutter wheel can easily be snapped into and out of the handle for cleaning. The cutter wheel has a dual inner and outer axle assembly engaging complementary shaped bearing surfaces on the handle to distribute pressure exerted on the wheel and keep the cutter wheel aligned with the handle when cutting movement is applied to the cutter.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2005Date of Patent: November 14, 2006Inventor: Steven L. Patent number: 6546633Abstract: A reciprocating saw includes a saw blade that is connected to a hand held driver for reciprocating the saw blade to perform a cut. A bit holder and a blade holder is used to provide connection between the saw blade and the handle of the hand held driver. The bit holder includes connecting mechanism for connecting the bit holder to the hand held driver. The blade holder provides a connection between the saw blade and the bit holder. The blade holder includes a holder body and a hex-shaped shank extending rearwardly from the holder body. The shank further includes a first holding mechanism for coupling the holder to the bit holder at the rear end and a second holding mechanism for coupling the saw blade to the holder at the forward end.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2000Date of Patent: April 15, 2003Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: Kelton W. Patent number: 6453565Abstract: A blade adapter for a reciprocating-type saw permits non-standard blades to be used in the saw. The blade adapter is sized and configured to be fit inside of a blade clamp of the saw, and includes an interior perimeter which accepts the shank of a non-standard saw blade. The blade adapter positions the saw blade inside of the blade clamp so that it can be clamped therein for cutting. It is simple to use and easily manufactured.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2001Date of Patent: September 24, 2002Assignee: Porter-Cable/DeltaInventor: Alan Gene Phillips

Patent number: 5666732Abstract: A holder for use with a razor blade having a scraping edge and an opposite supporting edge. A body is constructed of a durable and flexible material and has a first face and a second face spaced a predetermined distance from the first face. A substantially straight edge and at least one additional edge connected to opposite sides of the straight edge defines an outline of the body. The straight edge includes an aperture which defines a cavity within the body for inserting the razor blade a predetermined distance. The cavity provides a friction fit between inwardly facing edges of the body and the razor blade upon insertion of the razor blade. A recess is formed along the straight edge of the first face and the second face for removing the blade from the holder and for rotating the blade from a working position to a storage position.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1996Date of Patent: September 16, 1997Inventor: Thomas M.
