To simplify securement of the handle to a razor blade unit that is to be removed, the dispenser housing has a guide mechanism along which the end of the handle is guided and which brings the latching mechanism of the handle into a disengagement position. The blade pusher has a pin arranged at the end of an arm which engages in a hole in the blade. Then with the aid of the blade pusher the blade may be extended to a greater or lesser extent from the knife grip or may be fully retracted into it and arrested in various stop or detent positions.

The design of the tool is characterized by a handle that extends above the motor housing and gear casing, and which supports the tool at one end from the gear casing and at the other end from the rear of the motor housing. In this manner the tool is balanced when held by the handle as the weight of the gear casing and cutting assembly at the forward end of the tool offsets the weight of the motor at the rearward end of the tool. In addition, the design of the tool is facilitated by the provision of a single bracket member that serves the multiple functions of supporting and biasing together the rotary shear wheels, providing a cover for the gear casing, and also providing a support for the stub shafts on which the gears are journalled.

Abstract: A safety razor incorporates an apparatus for substantially vertical displacement of a blade carrier and the shaving edge carried thereby with respect to a skin guard. The blade carrier includes a circular hub retained by a circular receiving portion of a cover member used in the razor. A circular interfacing device, between the hub and the receiving portion, incorporates two eccentric segments. A first segment receives the hub, and the second segment is engaged by the receiving portion of the cover. Rotation of the interfacing device in the cover provides displacement of the blade in accordance with movement of the centers of the two segments of the device. Such displacement specifically causes movement of the razor blade with respect to the skin guard formed in the cover, and is used to provide a height adjustment for the blade.

Abstract: A manually-operated shaving device, for shaving skin areas during or incidental to surgical or cosmetic treatment. The device comprises a generally wheel-shaped shaving body, the rim of which carries a plurality of shaving edges. A handle means is rigidly secured to the wheel and extends outwardly in alignment with the wheel axis, to thereby enable oscillating clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of the wheel by operator manipulation of the handle means. A support member is secured to the side of the wheel opposite the handle means, and extends a short distance from the wheel in alignment with the said wheel axis. The member includes a smooth concavity at its distal end for receiving the finger tip of the hand of the operator which is opposed to that manipulating the handle means. The contacting finger serves as a pivotal support during rotation and orientation of the shaving body with respect to the skin area being treated.

Abstract: This invention comprises a foldable knife, having replacement blades contained pivotably within a case in one position and extending outwardly therefrom in a second position. Thus the invention is comprised of a case, a rotable blade holder pivotably attached to said case, the blade holder adapted to receive a sharpened blade, a slideable ejector rod positioned in said case, and upon a blade track, adapted to eject the blade from said blade holder when the blade holder is in the outward extended position. This ejection is done by pressing an ejector button attached to said ejector forward with the fingers. A blade lock member is spring biased against the cammed end portion of said blade holder whereby the blade holder is held securely by a cam in its outward extended position.
