Abstract: A two-bladed safety razor has a platform unitary with the handle of the razor. The platform movably supports a blade carrier plate which in turn fixedly carries a shaving blade unit including an upper blade, lower blade and a spacer member interposed between the upper and lower blades. A cap member overlying the upper blade is connected to the platform. Between the upper and lower blades, interposed is an ejecting member which is fixed to at least one of the cap member and the platform. Means are provided for causing a movement of the blade carrier plate and, hence, of the shaving blade unit to and from a fully retracted position relatively to the ejecting member. The ejecting member is so located that the cutting edge of the lower blade is positioned flush with or behind the front surface of the ejecting member when the blade assembly takes the fully retracted position.
Abstract: A shaving assembly is provided with skin-flow control means positioned in advance of the blade edge to control the effective exposure and blade-to-skin angle of the blade edge so as to greatly minimize or eliminate nicking. The skin-flow control means serves to minimize or eliminate the skin bulges which may otherwise be created in the unsupported space between a razor guard element and the blade edge. The skin-flow control means is provided by extending the skin-supporting surface of the guard element into such close proximity with the blade edge that the formation of a skin bulge therebetween is substantially prevented. A plurality of small holes may be provided in the guard element near the blade edge for allowing water flow therethrough to rinse shaving debris from the region of the blade.

Abstract: The ejecting member is interposed between two blade elements of a two-edge shaving blade unit in a manner to be retractably moved forwardly to eject shaved hair particles and other matters deposited in and clogging the space between the cutting edges of two blade elements. The ejecting member has an integral construction which includes an outer frame portion defining the outer profile of the ejecting member, a substantially quadrilateral aperture having at least one discontinuity and defining at its outer sides the inner edges of the outer frame portion, an inner island portion fixedly cramped between two blade elements and defined by the inner sides of the aperture, and a resilient bridge portion constituted by the discontinuity of the aperture and resiliently connecting the inner island portion to the outer frame portion.
Abstract: An improved twin blade razor system having a unitary member positioned between the pair of blades for both spacing the blades and ejecting shaving debris from that space. The unitary member, which may conveniently be of injection molded plastic, includes a spacer portion, an ejector portion, and biasing means connecting the ejector portion and the spacer portion for biasing the ejector portion to a normally retracted position relative to the blades and spacer. The ejector portion extends across in front of but is substantially discontinuous behind the spacer portion, resulting in a compact front-to-rear configuration for the unitary member which may be housed in a relatively compact twin blade system. The ejector portion is manually displaceable to an advanced ejecting position. The biasing portion may be one or more beam springs connected and configured to reduce distortion and/or stressing of the relatively moving portions of the member during actuation.
Abstract: A safety razor for a single edge type blade includes a longitudinal passageway through the handle with a lateral slotted opening in the shaving head over the blade. The lower end of the handle is connected by flexible tubing to a water faucet which supplies water through the passageway. The water flows out of the slot across the blade to continuously lubricate the facial areas being shaved. An adjustable clamp on the tubing regulates the flow of water.
Abstract: A solid water-soluble shaving aid incorporated in a disposable razor blade cartridge which gradually dissolves during the act of wet shaving. The shaving aid, in the form of a lubricant, whisker softener, razor cleaner, medicinal agent, cosmetic agent or combination of the above is embedded, dispersed into, formed as an integral component of, or otherwise affixed to the cartridge structure adjacent the shaving edge or edges of single or multiple blades supported therein.
Abstract: A shaving implement defining a shaving head and a handle having an end portion carrying the shaving head for manipulation of the implement in a normal shaving razor manner. The handle further defines at least one chamber for holding dispensable shaving-associated, or grooming, material, such as shaving cream, aftershave lotion, pre-shave lotion deodorant, etc. Structure is provided for retaining the shaving-associated material removably within the handle of the implement. The shaving-associated material may be retained directly in a chamber defined by the handle or may be retained in a container removably received within the handle. A removable handle portion defining a second chamber for holding such shaving-associated material may further serve as a closure for a chamber in a first portion of the handle arranged to receive a different shaving-associated material.
