Patent number: 11305441Abstract: A tool for removing a head or knot of a cable bundling device includes a housing, an opening, and a cutting element disposed within the opening. The housing defines the opening and a funneling element is position within the opening to direct the object to be cut towards an exposed cutting edge of the cutting element. The opening and funneling element are sized and arranged to accommodate the head or knot of the cable device while preventing any undesirable articles from being exposed to the cutting edge. The funneling element includes a wedge shape to prove improved access between the cable tie and the cutting edge.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2020Date of Patent: April 19, 2022Assignee: DANIELS MANUFACTURING CORPORATIONInventors: Alan Emad Zantout, Trevor D. Patent number: 7310881Abstract: An article for shaving pencils having a body member with a bore in the body member for receiving a pencil. The bore has at least one aperture or opening. The body member further includes a cutting, or shaving, device, so that upon a manual insertion of a pencil into the bore, and subsequent withdrawal of the pencil from the bore, a portion of the pencil is shaved off by the cutting, or shaving, device for providing a suitable surface for labelling of the pencil.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2004Date of Patent: December 25, 2007Inventor: Caleb Karepa Ohuka

Patent number: 6966117Abstract: A carpenters pencil sharpener having a body member having a T-shaped opening in its front wall. The body member has an interior pencil sharpening chamber having respective left and right upper support platforms and respective left and right lower support platforms. There are respective left and right upper ramps that extend inwardly from the T-shaped opening to the respective left and right upper support platforms. There are also respective left and right lower ramps that extend inwardly from the T-shaped opening to the respective left and right lower support platforms. A transversely extending blade member has a rearwardly extending cutting edge that extends into the interior pencil sharpening chamber. The T-shaped opening of the pencil sharpener allows a carpenters pencil to be inserted at four different 90 degree positions in order to sharpen the four different sides of the carpenters pencil.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2004Date of Patent: November 22, 2005Inventor: Jeffrey C. Patent number: 6725549Abstract: A sharpener for a carpenter's pencil that creates a profile shape desired by carpenters rather than a conical point. One end of the sharpener creates a sharpened profile on the narrow side of the pencil, while the opposite end of the sharpener creates a sharpened profile on the wide side when the pencil is rotated 90° about its axis. The pencil is slid laterally back and forth in a guide member, advancing along its axis as material is removed from the narrow side by fixed blades shaving material at an angle. The pencil is then rotated 90° and inserted in the other guide and moved back and forth advancing along its axis as material is removed from the wide side by fixed blades in a similar manner.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2002Date of Patent: April 27, 2004Assignee: System K, Inc.Inventors: Arnim B. Jebe, Joseph A. Naim

Patent number: 6625889Abstract: An improved hand tool for trimming and deburring the edges of objects made of various materials is provided with an elongated body member having a longitudinal channel formed therein for receiving the edge of the object to be trimmed. An elongated opening passes through the body member, from its lower surface into open communication with the longitudinal channel. An elongated blade is secured within the body member and positioned to selectively adjustably pass through the opening into the longitudinal channel to engage the edge being passed through the longitudinal channel. An adjustment assembly allows for incremental and consistent adjustment of the blade's cutting depth. Storage compartments are provided within the body member for conveniently and safely storing replacement blades.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2001Date of Patent: September 30, 2003Inventor: Kenneth L. Belsaas

Patent number: 6571480Abstract: A hand-operable and portable pencil sharpener which is comprised of a housing having a conical cavity therein. The cavity is of circular cross-section and defines an open inlet end tapering to a narrow inner end. A collar is provided about the open inlet end and formed integral with the housing. A pencil centering insert is rotatably secured in the collar by a flexible and removable snap ring. A slot is provided along the side wall of the conical cavity and a blade having a,sharp edge is secured adjacent to the slot with the sharp edge projecting slightly into the cavity whereby to shave a portion of the wood and lead on the extremity of a carpenter's pencil rotated in the conical cavity and centered by a centering slot in the pencil centering insert. An abrading element is secured to the housing to permit the abrading of a sharp point on the end of the lead.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2002Date of Patent: June 3, 2003Assignee: Royal International Corp.Inventor: Jianping Qiu

Patent number: 6279238Abstract: A carpenter's pencil sharpener for sharpening carpenter's pencils is disclosed. The pencil sharpener comprises a housing having both a vertically oriented oval shaped bore and a horizontally oriented oval shaped bore extending therethrough. The oval shapes of the bores corresponds to the profile of a carpenter's pencil. The bores are parallel and aligned with respect to each other. A cutting edge resiliently extends at an angle into the path of the bores. The angle of the cutting edge being adapted to allow a carpenter's pencil to be slid within said bore when inserted therein but whittling a carpenter's pencil when withdrawn therefrom.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2001Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Assignees: Ollie Francis Gillson TrustInventor: Richard E.
