Slidable Blade Patents (Class 30/62)
  • Patent number: 9802328
Abstract: A novel guard structure of a razor is shown including rows of elongated hard plastic protrusions having rounded (e.g., not sharp or pointed) tips arranged on a tip curved profile. The rounded valleys between the protrusions are also arranged on a curved profile which may be different than that of the tip curved profile. The valleys encompass an inner protrusion volume which increases going back to front end of the guard structure. Preferably, the front end volumes are larger than the back end inner protrusion volumes to assist in trapping and distributing shaving aid. In one embodiment having six protrusions, the inner protrusion volume between a second and third protrusion is the largest, while a volume between first and second protrusion is the second largest volume. The guard structure is disposed in front of the blades formed within the housing and may extend past the front end of the housing.

  • Patent number: 8671576
Abstract: The divisible head razor device provides a removable blade case with two blade heads slideably disposed therein. The handle of the device terminates in a carrier having a thumb wheel within the neck. The gear shaft in turn rotates the distally disposed rack gear. Two gear arms are disposed in contact with the rack gear. Each gear arm is adjusted laterally by the thumb wheel. Each gear arm is connected to an extension, each extension connected to a vertical section, each vertical section connected to a right angle section. Two blade heads are disposed slideably side by side within the blade case. Each of the blade heads removably connects to one of each of the right angle extensions. The blade heads are controlled by the thumb wheel such that the heads can be positioned together or apart with a gap determined by a user.

  • Patent number: 7827695
Abstract: This new electric razor has a set of multiple shaving knives (12), having dual cutting edges longitudinally on both sides of knife, and rotating and reciprocating simultaneously on the inner surface of a cylindrical shaving screen (11). This mechanism creates a 3-dimensionally elliptical motion of the shaving knives that effectively slices hair off (not chopping) and provides a smooth and comfortable shave with minimum skin irritation. The cylindrical shaving screen (11) and the main body (19) containing a rotating cup (16), a motor (17) and power source (18) forms an inherently ergonomic, angled shape, which is also slim and compact overall for convenient use and easy carrying. This razor has a 360 degree effective shaving screen surface and can be used in wet or dry environments. Cleaning the shaving head screen requires no disassembly and can be done easily under running water.

  • Patent number: 7516550
Abstract: A tool is provided into which a saw blade can be mounted and removed therefrom. The tool includes a housing have a groove therein. An attachment assembly is mounted in the groove and can be slid within the groove. The attachment assembly includes a first part, a second part, and a member attaching the parts together, while allowing the parts to move relative to each other. The saw blade is inserted between the first and second parts and is removable therefrom. A spring retainer is affixed within the housing. The attachment assembly is moveable within the housing to abut against the spring retainer. When the attachment assembly abuts the spring retainer, the second parts can be moved out of engagement with each other to allow the removal of the saw blade from therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6722039
Abstract: A manual straight razor includes an elongated front cutter portion having a rear end. The front cutter portion has an elongated wide opening which is slightly, downwardly narrowed. A complementary razor holding structure is snugly inserted in to the side opening and has a V-shaped lower member having a rounded end portion, along which a number of grooves are provided. When the razor holding structure attached to a pair of razor blades is snugly inserted into the wide opening, a pair of gaps is formed between the razor blades and the V-shaped lower-member. Soapsuds are passed through the grooves and kept temporarily in the gaps, and the soapsuds are rinsed away in flowing water or liquid medicine. A correct angle of inclination of a line linking the lowest point on each respective razor blade and the lowest point on the rounded elongated lower member can be easily adjusted to between 20 and 30 degrees to fit the razor blades on the face of the skin for safe shaving of hair.

  • Patent number: 6015419
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a hollow handle having an end slot and a side slot and a blade carrier securable to a scalpel blade and moveable between first and second positions relative to the handle. One of the first and second positions is an extended, in-use position wherein the scalpel blade extends out of the handle through the end slot. The other position is a retracted, non-use position wherein the scalpel blade is wholly disposed within the handle. At least one finger extends from the blade carrier and has a first contoured portion engageable, when the blade carrier is in the first position, with a second contoured portion of the handle. The first and second contoured portions are substantially complementary such that the finger must deflect to permit disengagement of the first contoured portion of the finger from the second contoured portion of the handle so that the blade carrier can be moved from the first position toward the second position.
