Abstract: A medium processing apparatus comprises a casing surrounded by a partitioning wall with an opening; a reel on which tape is wound; a fold-back section provided on an opposite side of the medium processing apparatus to the reel, so as to folded back the tape pulled out from the reel; a drum in the casing to be rotatable such that a rectangular shaped medium fed in the casing is wound onto the drum together with the tape that has been folded back on itself by the fold-back section; a winding guide provided further to a drum side than the tape, the winding guide closes off an internal space of the casing from the outside and presses the tape and the medium against a peripheral face of the drum; and an opening and closing section configuring a portion of the winding guide and opening or closing off the internal space.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a test strip container which provides easy access to test strips. The test strip container includes a lower housing, an upper housing, and a retaining member configured to releasably retain the test strips in a nested configuration. The nested configuration of the test strip container provides easy access to test strips by arranging the test strips so that they extend radially outward from the retaining member. The radial arrangement of the test strips operates to separate the test strips so that test strip users may easily select a single test strip from a plurality of test strips. Alternatively, the test strip container includes a lower housing, an upper housing, and a retaining member configured to releasably retain the test strips in a longitudinal configuration.

Abstract: A business card carousel index system having a housing comprised of a base and a lid. The housing encloses a carousel to which business cards are mounted. The carousel is attached through support and placement arms through the lid and a base so that operation of the lid will alter the distance between the carousel and the base. In use, a business card may be punched utilizing a flexing device located at the front of the housing, after which the punched card may be placed upon rings on the carousel. When a user wishes to access the cards contained within the housing, the lid of the housing is lifted thereby elevating the carousel above the base of the housing, so that rotational movement will be allowed.

Abstract: A housing having a semi-cylindrical cavity therewithin is cooperative with a housing cover, with the housing including a support drum rotatably mounted within the semi-cylindrical cavity, with the support drum mounting at least one of an array of holders about the drum for access of a computer disc from the holder.

Abstract: A file search apparatus which is provided with a base having a center pillar, a reel which comprises file accommodating rooms accommodating therein a plurality of files having codes and juxtaposed in a circle and is supported to the center pillar rotatably therearound, a selection device which is supported revolvably to the base to revolve along the outer periphery of the reel so as to read the codes on the files and search for a desired file, a driving device for driving the selection device, and a search display means displaying the searched file, so that the reel rotates to move the searched file to a predetermined position to be taken out therethrough without the trouble of looking for the searched file around the reel.

Abstract: A document holding and segregating device includes a generally cylindrical body member having radially projecting partitions forming a plurality of compartments for holding documents such as communication memos, etc. The body member includes a central hub having a hollow axial bore and a thrust bearing surface at one end of the bore. The body member is mounted on a cylindrical base member having an upstanding bearing post insertable in the bore in the hub of the body member whereby the body member may be mounted for rotation on the base to enhance its use in receiving and dispensing documents.

Abstract: A rotary filing device wherein mounting strips adapted to receive a container for an item or items to be stored are linked together in an endless chain and supported at each end in common recesses in a frame such that the chain is movable by tilting successive strips to provide access to each container in turn. The frame carries projections which are adapted to interlock with projections on an identical element or on a mounting bracket whereby a plurality of devices can be secured together and/or to a support. When the container is a tape cassette library case, the mounting strip may additionally be adapted to both the cassette case and the cassette itself, as desired. A spring loaded catch fitted in the recess to bear upon the ends of the mounting strips received therein, enables positive indexing and automatic resumption of a tidy equilibrium position, irrespective of the orientation of the device, in use.

Abstract: In a rotary file comprising a case open at the top, a card-holding rotor rotatably mounted in the case and a cover rotatable about the axis of the rotor from a closed position to an open position, a lock mounted in a side wall of the case near the back has a locking member which, in locked position, engages a rear portion of the cover when in closed position so as to keep the cover from rotating to open position. When the lock is turned to unlocked position, the locking member is moved clear of the cover so as to allow the cover to open.

Abstract: A storage arrangement for storing tape cassettes, eight track tape cartridges and the like, in which a case means is provided having walls defining a storage volume therebetween. A carousel comprising a pair of disc means is rotatably mounted in the storage volume and is supported by the side walls of the case means. The pair of disc means each have a plurality of cartridge holding means for retaining a plurality of the cartridges between the pair of disc means in a preselected array and in separate cartridge holding sections. The pair of disc means are maintained in a spaced apart relationship by a hub means and the disc means and hub means rotate relative to the case means about a horizontal axis. Brake means are provided intermediate the disc means and the case means to provide a predetermined frictional force therebetween.

Abstract: A hanger filing device adaptable for horizontal and vertical file orientation includes an integral binder element comprising a pair of longitudinally extending spaced flanges which define an open channel for receiving file material. A hinge pin is disposed within the binder element and extends outwardly of the ends thereof. The flanges include notched extensions for slidably engaging spaced rails of a hanging file rack. The flanges include spaced opposed apertures dimensioned to receive any of a variety of fastening devices for binding file material between the flanges. The hinge pin provides a post support for the vertical disposition of the binder element within an upright file.

Abstract: A programming device for maintaining a cyclic program and associated records for such program in the production cycle of animals. In particular, the device relates to a carousel type record programmer for keeping records and maintaining set programs for use in swine production. The records for each animal are maintained on a card or cards filed in a fixed radially extending slot in a carousel housing, and the program is carried on a ring which rotates relative to the card file slots and which ring is advanced one day at a time so that each day a program space aligns with a particular card file slot. Any program item to be performed for the animals or subjects whose cards are located in the aligning slot will be carried out. That is, the animals whose cards align with the program will be subjected to the treatment, or other operation that is required.

Abstract: A mini-card rotary file structure and system which includes a rotor support and a rotor spanning the support with a plurality of card tray support fins arranged in intersecting chordal planes on the rotor and slidably removable mini-card holder and transfer trays engaging the fins and wherein the trays are provided with tracks to engage recesses in mini-cards to be slidably captivated by the tracks on the trays for rotation with the rotor into and out of a generally tilted and horizontal attitude and wherein a base or several bases may be provided to support mini file card holder and transfer trays removed from the rotor for convenient arrangement of one or several trays at one or several work stations.

Abstract: A hollow lightweight housing is provided, adapted for ready location on a horizontal surface such as a counter top adjacent a stove or oven. A set of food information bearing cards are carried by a rotatable assembly mounted within the housing, enabling selective presentation of any one of the cards to the ready view of the user. Mounted on a generally horizontal wall of the housing is the pushbutton portion of a digital calculator, the display of which is closely located to the cards when located for viewing so that information taken from the cards may be quickly and easily inserted in the calculator with readout being also readily available for comparison to the information on the cards. Also mounted on the same horizontal housing wall, immediately adjacent the calculator pushbuttons, are timing control switches permitting control of the calculator display as both an output display and a digital time readout.

Abstract: Record keeping apparatus for use in swineries for increasing efficiency of operation and ensuring that all tasks are performed in a timely manner. The apparatus comprises a console or housing in which a carousel or container is mounted for rotation in a single direction. The carousel is divided into a plurality of compartment pairs equal in number to the number of days in an arbitrarily selected time interval longer than the gestation period of sows, and the console is provided with indices or legends related to the husbandry tasks associated with such an interval. Cards representing individual sows are placed and moved in the compartments to give a visual indication of the overall status of the herd and of the work load for any particular day.
