Abstract: A desk includes a compartment for a silent printer designed to prevent dirt and dust from entering it. The compartment is in the form of a drawer fitting closely into a stationary portion of the desk and includes of a bottom supporting the printer and a front panel, the front panel fitting closely into the opening of the stationary portion. The drawer is movable to the front of the desk while gliding on horizontal guides on the side walls and on a wheel attached to the front and moving along the floor. A blower with a filter is mounted on the outside of the desk and blows clean air into the compartment. A narrow slot in the desk top serves for passage of the printer output.

The container is especially useful for the transport of fresh or frozen products.

Abstract: Device for the transport and distribution of meal trays including built-in microwave oven for reheating the latter. The device consists of an isothermic unequipped trolley for transporting food trays between kitchens and hospital wards, a central equipped unit permanently installed in hospitals, capable of having one or two transport trolleys coupled to it to form mobile distribution units, and one or two microwave ovens built into the central unit, comprising a metallic shield located between the hot and cold areas, which enables meal trays without a shield to be used. For use in the distribution of individual meal trays in establishments such as hospitals.

Abstract: A single package heat pump unit is field-reconfigurable from a horizontal discharge configuration to a top discharge configuration. A supply panel covers the top and upper part of the back wall, and contains a supply vent in a vent wall, with a blank wall joining it at a ninety degree crease. The supply panel can be removed and installed in the top discharge position, using standard fasteners.

Abstract: An air compressor includes an enclosed housing with a 12-volt electrical motor mounted to a bottom frame within said housing and a compressor pump located vertically above the motor within the housing and operably connected to the motor. A ventilation fan is mounted on the motor adjacent a ventilation panel in one side panel of the housing, to draw air into the housing. The top cover is spaced slightly above the upper edges of opposing side panels of the housing, to form a ventilation space at the upper end of the housing through which air may be circulated around the motor and pump and upwardly out of the housing. The compressor pump is mounted on a base plate which is pivotally mounted along one edge and has an adjustable length leg supporting the opposite edge. The adjustable length leg permits adjustment of the distance between the pump and motor so as to adjust the tension on a drive belt extending between pulleys on the pump and motor.

Abstract: An improved food warmer is provided and consists of a cabinet having a chamber therein. A pair of doors are hinged to the front of the cabinet, so as to gain access into the chamber. A mechanism is for emitting heat into the chamber of the cabinet, so as to warm up food placed within the chamber.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for controlling the ripening of produce. The apparatus includes a chamber having a ceiling, a floor and a plurality of walls. Positioned in the chamber is a support and position structure to support two rows of palletized produce and to space the palletized produce away from the walls to define a fluid circulation space around the palletized produce. The rows of palletized produce are spaced apart to define an interstitial volume therebetween. Each row of palletized produce includes at least an upper and a lower tier with a vertical spacing therebetween. A flexible sealing strip is affixed to the support and position structure to generally seal the vertical spacing between the tiers from the fluid circulation space.

Abstract: A microwave oven includes a cooking chamber having a door. A tray is mounted in the chamber by a roller/guide track arrangement such that gravitational force acting on the tray is converted into a force which slides the tray forwardly when the door is opened.

Abstract: A salad bar-type food display and self service unit is provided which includes a base, a table or counter supported by the base, and a fan assembly mounted to the table and disposed above the table for circulating air above the top or display surface of the table. A sneeze/cough guard may be mounted to overlie the table, in which case the air circulating fan or fans are preferably mounted above the guard. The salad bar unit provides desirable air circulation and a barrier to flying insects without compromising portability and/or requiring structural modification of the store or restaurant in which it is used.

Abstract: A door structure, for use in combination with upright refrigerator and freezer spaces, which utilizes heat transfer by forced convection, of the kind used in everyday commodity stores to display goods on sale. The door has two glass panes which together with a frame embracing the edges of the glass panes, either completely or partially, form a door leaf. The glass pane which faces towards the warm atmosphere of a shop area is provided on the surface thereof facing away from the shop area with an electrically conductive coating, which is operative to heat the outer pane electrically. The door has solely two mutually parallel glass panes, of which the glass pane facing towards the colder refrigerator or freezer space is provided on the surface thereof which faces towards the colder space solely with an infrared radiation reflective coating or layer.

Abstract: A tool box cabinet including a front wall, including a cavity directed interiorly of the front wall into the cabinet mounting a fan, heater or both assembly. The fan/heater or both assembly is arranged for selective mounting about the tool cabinet or positioned within the cavity, with the fan/heater or both assembly including a plurality of mounting legs permitting positioning of the heater assembly to the cabinet in a variety of orientations thereof. Air heating and impeller, a temperature sensing device, and controller device mounted in the cabinet; a plenum communicating with the air heating and impeller device for receiving the heated air, outlets in the plenum disposed in such manner as to discharge the heated air over the tray containing the bags and be taken in through the apertures in the air channel for recirculation.

Abstract: The operating components of a forced air furnace are disposed within a double-walled cabinet structure having inner and outer metal walls which define therebetween an insulating air space that replaces the fibrous insulation normally adhered to the interior surface of furnace cabinetry. The illustrated cabinet structure representatively comprises a coil housing positioned atop a return housing. Each housing is formed from initially flat inner and outer sheet metal panels having rectangular configurations and various transverse projections thereon which permit the panels to be nested in a spaced apart, laterally facing relationship. Opposite end portions of the nested panels are then transversely bent in the same direction to form from the nested panels three interconnected sides of the housing, and the outer ends of the bent panel structure are secured together by elongated metal joining members extended across the resulting open fourth side of the housing.

Abstract: A modular (unitary) refrigerated condiments container is provided for use in a conventional restaurant-type salad bar. The modular refrigerated condiments container comprises a housing having a recessed cold pan in the top thereof and a removable condiment support plate for mounting above the bottom surface of the recessed pan. At least one upstanding wall extends across the recessed pan to divide it into two or more sections for enhanced cooling of condiment holders supported by the condiment support plate. A refrigeration condensing unit is provided and includes refrigerant-containing cooling coils in heat exchange communication with the recessed pan so as to cool the space defined between the recessed pan and the condiment support plate and thereby to cool the condiment holders supported by the condiment support plate.

Abstract: A display cabinet which refrigerates containers of flowers by forcing a flow of cold air into holes in the bottom of each container and up through the flowers stored therein. The containers of flowers are inserted into a plurality of openings in a product support stand which rests on top of a refrigerated area. The openings which do not have containers of flowers inserted therein are biased to a closed position. The flow of cold air is adjusted according to the number of containers inserted into the product support stand.

Abstract: Tape cartridges are stored in guides within a plurality of open slots arrayed in a carousel which is mounted for rotation around a tape drive assembly. The cartridges are retrieved and returned with respect to their storage positions by a slider arm extendable from the drive. Cartridges are loadable and removable from the carousel via an access door. The controlling computer or controller detects presence of a jam because of a cartridge not fully nested in its storage position by actuating selected operations of the carousel so as to nudge the cartridge into its fully nested storage position. An air flow pattern is created so as to isolate the data exchanging elements of the tape drive and carousel while cooling all elements not sensitive to contamination from air flow. Light source and photocell detectors are maintained in a relatively rigid relationship so as to reliably detect tape cartridge presence in each storage slot.

Abstract: This invention relates to the use of a barrier film consisting essentially of thermoplastic homo- or copolymer polyester resin to protect a styrenic resin sheet which constitutes the inner liner wall of an insulative cabinet wall of, for example, a refrigeration appliance unit from attack by the halogen-containing blowing agents present in the insulative polyurethane foam found within the cabinet wall.

Abstract: A multiple layer article of a thermoformable structural polymeric layer which is susceptible to damage upon exposure to hydrohalocarbon blowing agents and a polymeric layer which is a barrier to such hydrohalocarbon blowing agents provides a useful refrigerator liner. Related structures are useful for preventing the migration of hydrohalocarbons.

Abstract: A multi-purpose refrigerator includes a main door and a fresh storage compartment mounted on a rear side of said main door and being accessible through an auxiliary door formed in said main door. The fresh storage compartment comprises a multi-section housing mounted to a pair of vertical walls disposed on the rear or inner side of the main door. Each housing section includes front and rear portions. The front portion fits between the walls. The rear portion is wider than the front portion to form shoulders therebetween. The shoulders carry hooks which fit removably into slots formed in rearwardly facing edges of the walls. The housing has openable apertures to communicate said refrigerator compartment with said fresh storage compartment.

Abstract: An apparatus for heating food articles including a chamber containing a plurality of vertically, spaced-apart supports, each having a hollow interior which is interconnected by a single conduit. A thermostatically controlled steam generator is connected to the single conduit serving to both transmit steam to the supports and return condensate water back to the steam generator to thereby heat the food articles.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for heating or cooling food articles including a chamber containing a plurality of tubular, vertically, spaced-apart support means having a fluid inlet and outlet. A plurality of removably mounted hollow plates each having a plurality of spaced-apart tubular members having a fluid sealed therein connected to first and second plenums are positioned on the support means. Supply and return header means are connected to the inlet and outlet, respectively, of the support means and by conduit to a fluid reservoir and pump to circulate a fluid transfer means through each support means. Means for heating and cooling the fluid is also provided and control means for controlling operation of the heating and cooling means individually or in a predetermined sequence and at a preselected temperature is also included. During the heating mode the fluid inside the removable plates vaporizes and condenses.

Abstract: A pizza screen or pan receiving and holding assembly for use in combination with a pizza baking oven is disclosed. The assembly includes a main frame formed of side and end rails interconnected in a generally rectangular pattern with casters provided at the four corners to position the main frame in the open space beneath the baking sections of pizza baking oven. Cross members extend laterally of the side rails to define an open lattice for receiving pizza baking screens or baking pans. Upright members extend upwardly from the front and rear sides of the main frame. A box support frame of a generally rectangular shape formed of interconnected side and end shaft members is secured to the upright members and is inclined rearwardly downwardly. A plurality of boxes sized to receive different dimensioned pizza screens or pans are removably received on the box support frame. The boxes have opened front ends and closed rear ends.

Abstract: A low cost, multiflavor, compact, versatile, convertible beverage dispenser that can be installed in any one of several different orientations so as to be able to fit in almost any available space. This dispenser can operate frontways or sideways and has a dispense module that is separable from a refrigeration module and that can go on top of a counter while the refrigeration module goes below. This dispenser can be used with either figals or bag-in-box and can be easily modified to dispense different numbers of beverages. When used with bag-in-box the dispenser includes built-in syrup pumps. The dispenser can also be used with a separate, additional narrower dispense module, when the built-in dispense module is too wide for a particular installation.

Abstract: A food shelving and cycling system for wrapped food items includes an elongated shelf for storing wrapped food items and unwrapping apparatus for separating each food item from its wrapping. Sensors mounted within the floor of the shelf and a controller monitor the time that a wrapped food item is positioned within the shelf and initiates its removal from the shelf if the food item is positioned within the shelf in excess of a desired period of time. The system includes heating components for heating the food items until removed from the shelf, and the unwrapping apparatus facilitates the division of a food item and its wrapping into edible and non-edible refuse.

Abstract: An air conditioning or cooling device for a control cabinet with a spacer frame constructed of horizontal and vertical frames sections, each having fastening bores closed by wall panels and a door of the cabinet and being in the shape of a box. The air conditioning or cooling device is designed with its two exterior dimensions being equal to or less than two corresponding clearances between the vertical and horizontal frame sections of one side of the spacer frame and the air conditioning or cooling device is installed in this side. The installation of the air conditioning or cooling device on or in one side of the control cabinet in different positions, with respect to the interior of the control cabinet, is simply accomplished since the outer end area of at least its vertical sides with fastening edges, can be optionally connected directly or with spacing elements to the facing vertical frame sections of the spacer frame.

A magnetized memo plate is positioned along a left border plate of the lower board member for mounting various removable magnetic plate members thereto for support of messages. A modification of the invention includes a cooling housing selectively and removably mounted relative to the upper board member to direct a cooling air to a user of the organization permitting its use in a convenient manner in various environments.

Abstract: The invention relates to urethane polymers exhibiting excellent heat transfer properties. Specifically these polymers are used as adhesives for the purpose of adhering cooling/condensing tubes to metal panels for the manufacture of freezer and refrigerator cabinets.

Abstract: A housing for roof top refrigeration equipment has a metal frame supporting at least one compressor unit on a building roof. A pair of end panels and a roof panel are attached to the frame with the roof panel being leakproof to protect the equipment in the housing. A hinged access panel is attached to the frame and has a closed position and an open position and a pair of panel support members to hold the panel in an open position so that the side panel forms a roof canopy in the open position for sheltering a person working on the equipment in the housing. An electrical box is attached to the exterior of one of the end panels and has an access opening thereinto for rapid access to the power for the refrigeration equipment.

Abstract: A food server for simultaneously cold storing foods to be served hot and foods to be served cold, and for heating the foods to be served hot while keeping cold the foods to be served cold. The server comprises a cabinet having a first insulated food storage compartment for cold storing foods to be served hot and a second insulated food storage compartment, adjacent the first compartment, for cold storing foods to be served cold. The server also includes a mechanism for refrigerating the first compartment, a mechanism for refrigerating the second compartment, a mechanism for heating the first compartment, and a control mechanism for selectively activating and deactivating the mechanisms for heating and refrigerating the first compartment.

Abstract: Apparatus for storing articles including walls defining a bin enclosure having an opening for transporting articles therethrough, a support for supporting articles in an article storage region in the enclosure, and a source of pressurized particle-free air to the region to provide a higher pressure in the article storage region than outside of the enclosure. Also disclosed are an energy beam vision system that is carried by a transport system and interfaces with the walls and a controller that controls the transport mechanism in order to properly align the relative positions of the transport mechanism and the enclosure.

Abstract: A shelf track lighting for improving illumination of devices such as refrigerators or freezers. Coupled to the shelf is a lamp and a supporting brackets. The brackets engage with vertically positioned standards which are mounted to the rear wall of the device. Power is provided to the lamp through the standards and the brackets so that the lamp may be illuminated when the shelf and lamp levels are adjusted.

Abstract: An improved frame construction for a microwave oven and the like, which is so arranged that, a front panel portion, a bottom plate portion and a rear plate portion are integrally formed into one unit as an open chassis, while an inserting opening is formed in the bottom plate portion of the open chassis in a position under an oven structure of the frame construction for inserting welding jigs or the like through the inserting opening.

Abstract: An elongated, horizontally disposed cabinet of rectangular cross-section is mounted on wheels and is designed to store boxes or bags of compacted organic or inorganic refuse until they can be picked up by a trash hauler. To avoid the necessity of lifting the boxed or bagged-compacted trash, the cabinet includes a conveyor mechanism for facilitating the transport of such boxes or bags from the cabinet entrance to or towards its discharge end. The cabinet includes doors at each end thereof which, when closed, effectively seal the loaded refuse within the cabinet. To slow the decomposition process of the organic refuse, the cabinet is equipped with a temperature control including refrigeration means to be used when ambient temperature is above a predetermined temperature and heating means for prevent freezing when the ambient temperature is below freezing temperatures.

Abstract: A refrigerator cabinet having an outer metal shell and an inner liner spaced from the shell with foamed-in-place thermal insulation therebetween. The cabinet has an outer metal shell open at the front with two side walls and a top wall each folded to provide a front face with an open fold behind the front face. There is a machinery compartment wall near the bottom of the refrigerator cabinet which is bent upwardly and terminates in a curved front lip having a downwardly facing opening. The inner liner has a peripheral flange which is received in the open fold behind the front face along the side and top walls. At the bottom of the cabinet is a bottom rail assembly which includes a metal cross member with each end secured to the front face at each of the side walls. The metal cross member has a strengthening groove extending between the ends and also has two spaced tabs formed to project downwardly into the groove.

At the front of the partition is a mullion assembly including a mullion cover arranged flush with the front face of the cabinet and behind the mullion cover is a mullion strap having end portions at each end projecting beyond the mullion cover behind the front face of the cabinet where screws clamp the mullion strap ends to the rear of the front face of the cabinet to provide a brace between the two sides of the cabinet and another set of screws secure the mullion cover to the mullion strap adjacent each end. The mullion strap has a flat center section for flexibility during assembly, while each end portion is in the form of a forward opening channel which forms a box construction with the mullion cover.

Abstract: A system for delivering liquid catalyst to a core-making machine includes a single fireproof cabinet in which is located a catalyst storage tank. The storage tank receives catalyst from catalyst supply drums that are positioned one at a time in a pumping station located in the cabinet beside the tank and emptied into the tank by a barrel pump. A flash-off station is located in the cabinet beside the pumping station for receiving emptied drums and an exhaust hose, that is coupled to a scrubber system exhaust duct, is positionable within the drum to carry away vapors produced in the drum as residual catalyst flashes off. A catalyst supply pump is coupled for pumping liquid catalyst from the storage tank to a gassing unit of a core-making machine.

Abstract: A cabinet for housing electronic equipment includes an integrally formed cooling system which includes an air conduct running longitudianlly between the opposite end walls of the cabinet in an upper portion thereof. A cooling fin assembly is fitted into a lower wall of the air duct so as to have its fins extend upwardly into the air duct and downwardly into the cabinet. Heat transfer takes place as heat from within the cabinet passes to the cooling fins which are then cooled by a pair of fans disposed at opposite ends of the air duct.
