Abstract: A computer enclosure (10) includes a chassis (20), a hood (40), a handle (54), and a latch (60) attaching the hood to the chassis. A support bracket (30) is secured in the chassis, and defines a plurality of slots (38). The hood defines a recess (44) and two apertures (48). The handle is slidably received in the recess, and has two hollow cylinders (58) extending through the apertures. The latch defines two through holes (64) for extension of two screws (66) therethrough to engage with the cylinders, thus securing the handle to the latch. The latch has a plurality of hooks (62) corresponding to the slots of the support bracket. When the latch is in a first position, the hooks are engaged at the slots. When the latch is moved to a second position, the hooks are released from the slots, whereupon the hood is easily removed from the chassis.

Abstract: A housing for a telecommunications system is described. The housing contains a housing base for accommodating modules and module frames, and a covering shroud connected releasably to the housing base and, with the housing base, encloses the modules and the module frames. The covering shroud has a casing plate forming at least part of the covering shroud, and plastic moldings connected, in part, to the casing plate and/or the housing base. Some of the plastic moldings can be lined up in a row one beside another to form a wall surface of the covering shroud.

Abstract: An attachment mechanism to secure a console onto an appliance is provided in which the console is mounted without the use of threaded fasteners and, one mounted, the attachment mechanism is hidden from view from the exterior of the appliance. A projection on one of the appliance and console mates with an opening in the other of the appliance and console and a clip extends from one of the appliance and console to mate with an opening in the other of the appliance and console, such that the projection serves to align the two parts and the clip serves to secure the parts together. Preferably the projection and clip, or more than one of each, are located on a mating surface between the appliance and console such that when the console is mounted onto the appliance, the projection and clip can no longer be seen from the exterior of the appliance.

Abstract: A computer casing is disclosed. At least one movable door plate is installed at one side of the computer casing, the movable door plate includes a first plate and a second plate. One edges of the first plate is pivotally connected to one edge of the second plate, and other edges of the first plate and the second plate are formed with engaged portions, respectively. At least one side of the computer casing is installed with an opening; and the engaged portions of the first plate and the second plate are embedded on edges of the opening of the computer casing for selectively closing the opening.

Abstract: An attachment device for attaching an expansion card having metal bracket to computer's back panel is disclosed. The device comprises a body having one side secured to the computer's back panel and a plurality of sliding members slidable in the body wherein after the expansion card has engaged with the computer's back panel by the body, each of the sliding members may slide from a first position in the body to a second position for quickly securing the expansion card to the computer' back panel.

Abstract: The I/O bracket retainer is a unitary structure that provides excellent EMI shielding without the requirement of an additional gasket layer. EMI leakage is minimized by providing an I/O bracket retainer surface. typically stainless steel, that conforms to the surface of the I/O bracket retainer and I/O panel, thus minimizing seams formed due to small differences in the planarities of the I/O bracket retainer and I/O panel. EMI leakage is further reduced by providing firm contact between the surfaces of the I/O bracket retainer and I/O panel to minimize seam formation between these parts. Firm contact is provided in part by a first positioning tab and spring finger which extend from a sidewall of the structure to the front panel of the I/O bracket retainer. The front panel of the I/O bracket retainer is designed for receiving and securing an I/O panel. The I/O panel is positioned between the first spring member and positioning tab of the I/O bracket which helps provide firm contact to the I/O panel.

Abstract: A casing for electronic, heat-emitting components, has a front provided with an ornamented bezel. Instead of a conventional ventilation grill in such front bezel, the bezel is bowed outwardly relative to the front edges of the sides of the casing. Ventilation is provided through the gaps between the back of the bezel and the front edges of the sides. The upper portion of the bezel may be formed with an opening to receive a media bezel having openings therein for removable disk drives, floppy disks and the like.

Abstract: A computer housing has a front panel, a cover and a chassis, wherein the front panel and the cover are connected together. A mechanism for latching and releasing the front panel and the cover with and from the chassis include a match opening defined in a side of the front panel, a latch member, a spring and a locking hole defined in the chassis. The latch member has an arm extending towards the chassis terminating in a hooked portion to engage the locking hole. The latch member and the spring are received in the matching opening and are movable between a locked position where the arm is locked in the locking hole and a released position where the arm disengages the locking hole. The spring urges against the base to retain the latch member in the locked position.

Abstract: A computer bezel is adapted for mounting on a computer enclosure having a data storage device attached thereto. The computer bezel comprises a base and a drive cover attached to the base. The base has a pair of arms and the drive cover is pivotable about the arms of the base. The drive cover is adapted to be pivoted about the computer enclosure for exposing the computer enclosure to an outer space thereby facilitating assembling of the data storage device to the computer enclosure.

Abstract: A computer casing includes a side panel releasably attached thereto for covering an opening defined in a side wall thereof. The side panel has a first edge from which a perpendicular flange extends. Anchoring tabs perpendicularly extend from the flange. A step is formed on a corresponding edge of the opening with slots defined therein to receive the anchoring tabs with the flange abutting against the step thereby effectively eliminating electromagnetic radiation emitted through the opening. A plurality of locking tabs are formed on an opposite second edge of the side panel. Cutouts are defined in a rear wall of the casing corresponding to the locking tabs. A locking rod movably attached to a rear wall defines a plurality of openings corresponding to the cutouts whereby the locking tabs are allowed to extend through both the cutouts of the casing and the openings of the locking rod when the locking rod is at an unlocked position.

Abstract: A stacking arrangement for at least two controllers in a powder spray system provides for the controllers to be vertically stacked one on top of the other, and an interlock mechanism between each pair of adjacently stacked controllers. In a preferred embodiment, the interlock mechanism comprises a tab and slot arrangement between each pair of adjacent top and bottom covers of stacked controllers. The tab and slot securely hold the stacked controllers together in a stable vertically aligned configuration. Locking plates are also provided to releasably secure the controllers together. The invention also provides a vertically adjustable cover mechanism for the stacked controllers. The cover mechanism encloses various lines that are connected to the controllers in the final assembly. The cover mechanism includes a vertically fixed cover part and an adjustable cover part that telescopically slides over the fixed cover part.

Abstract: A computer enclosure exclusively mounts two differently sized power supplies. The computer enclosure includes a rear panel having a first opening for directly mounting a first power supply, a base panel having a fixing portion near the first opening, and a mounting bracket having a second opening for mounting a second power supply to the rear panel. The second power supply has a smaller dimension than the first power supply. The mounting bracket is assembled with the second power supply. An electrical socket and venting holes of the second power supply is exposed to an exterior of the computer enclosure through the second opening. The assembly of the mounting bracket and the second power supply is mounted to the rear panel and the base panel. The second opening aligns with the first opening for connecting the socket of the second power supply with an outside power source and for exposing the venting holes to the exterior of the enclosure.

Abstract: Arrangements of modular furniture may be set in place and computer equipment may then be cabled together without moving any module of the arrangement. Modules include a base having file storage, a base having computer power controls, and a base supporting a desk. Each module may provide a wiring access opening on each side to define an aligned wiring passage through as many base modules as needed for a particular arrangement. Exposed wiring access openings may be disguised by a sliding plate that completes the trim of the base, covers the opening, and conceals the fact that an opening exists.

Abstract: A housing for a freezer installation for storing frozen foodstuffs comprises a rectangular base unit, a rectangular top frame of plastic which encloses an access opening and bears a movable cover arrangement which closes or releases the access opening of the top frame, two mutually opposite side-part members of essentially the same outline, each having an opening and side panels of metal, arranged on one side of the housing with their surfaces visible through the openings in the side-part members. The housing also includes a rear-wall panel of metal, and a front-wall panel of metal. A modular housing system for housings of different volumes is provided.

Abstract: A bezel mounting device is adapted to mount a bezel to a front panel of a computer casing. The bezel mounting device includes a rectangular frame having top and bottom sections connected by opposite side sections. Each side section defines elongate slots for movably receiving corresponding posts extending from the bezel for movably attaching the bezel mounting device to the bezel whereby the bezel mounting device is movable between a locking position and a releasing position. Arcuate resilient members are formed on the bottom section and supported by a bottom flange of the bezel for biasing the bezel mounting device toward the locking position. A plurality of barbs are formed on the top and side sections and received in corresponding slots defined in the front panel whereby the barbs simultaneously engage with the slots of the front panel by being biased by the arcuate resilient members to attach the bezel mounting device to the front panel.

Abstract: A retaining device for a front cover of a computer casing has at least two arms extending out from a back face of the front cover, a shaft pivotally received in the computer casing and having at least two pushes each detachably connected to a corresponding one of the arms and a knob securely formed on the distal end of the shaft. With such an arrangement, the user is able to easily detach the front cover from the computer casing.
