Alternately Through Opposite Sides Patents (Class 312/286)
  • Patent number: 4229060
Abstract: This invention relates to a rotary storage cabinet comprised of an outer stationary housing and an inner rotatable rotor having four sides two of which are positionable to present the contents of the cabinet simultaneously to two opposite openings in the housing. Two other opposite sides of the rotor are positionable to close the openings in the housing. The cabinet is constructed from a plurality of sub-assemblies which are shipped for assembly at the point of use. The basic structure of the unit comprises a base (20), two pilaster frames (10), and a top frame pan (30) each of which is shipped as a sub-assembly. The cabinet includes several features including: the ball bearing mechanism (FIGS. 7-9); spring urged wheel (180) and detent (150) (FIG. 12) stop mechanism; lock mechanism (160) (FIG. 12); welded pilaster frames (10); and a single centrally located rotor frame (50). The unit is modular permitting the use of like "add-on" units (FIGS. 16 and 17).

  • Patent number: 4183596
Abstract: A two way travel three section drawer slide assembly is provided for cabinets, desks, files, service vehicles and the like to permit a drawer to be selectively extended from opposite sides. The assembly includes an outer channel section for attachment to a support body such as a cabinet wall, a central channel section slidably mounted within the outer section and an interior channel section slidably mounted to the central section and fixedly attached to the drawer to be moved. The present invention particularly provides improved movable stops wholly within the confines of the assembly to facilitate and assure the proper movement of the central section to full extension and full retraction whereby no latching or locking devices exteriorly of the slide assembly are required. Latch members on opposite sides of the drawer and support body prevent accidental outward movement of the drawer. This invention is also usable on drawer assemblies having more than three sections.

  • Patent number: 4178049
Abstract: A shelf box is designed for use with a shelf rack or storage cabinet open on both sides so that the shelf box can be removed from either side of the rack or cabinet. Two stop members are respectively mounted adjacent to opposite ends of the shelf box for pivotal movement between stop and release positions, and are interconnected by a pivoting linkage so that when one stop member is in its stop position the other stop member is in its release position. The stop members are disposed so that in their stop positions they are engageable with retaining portions of the overlying shelf. Thus, when one end of the shelf box is withdrawn from the rack or cabinet it will be stopped by engagement of the adjacent shelf retaining portion with the stop member at the opposite end of the shelf box in its stop position to prevent inadvertent complete removal of the shelf box.

  • Patent number: 4124262
Abstract: Hardware for a reversible kitchen cabinet shelf includes upper and lower molded or stamped plates which are attached respectively to the upper and lower panels of a cabinet. The plates include an arcuate track and a transverse guide slot which is generally perpendicular to the front edge of the cabinet. Followers attached to the top and bottom of a shelf unit for the cabinet cooperate with the arcuate track and slot whereby the shelf construction may be pivoted and reversed with respect to the cabinet enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4013328
Abstract: A dental treatment environment having dental equipment coordinated relative to a reclining patient chair in a manner to provide minimum doctor time and motion and maximum efficiency. The chair has a patient headrest located adjacent a cabinet. An articulated first arm adjustable vertically and horizontally is movably mounted on the cabinet. The arm carries a tray useable for dental hand instruments and slow speed hand piece. An extendible and contractible second arm which moves up, down, side to side is attached to an upright support and has connected at its outer end a holder for dental high speed air turbines and air-water syringe. Both the tray and holder are movable to locations relative to the headrest whereby the transfer zone between tray and holder and patient is of minimum area. An operating light unit and its holding members are mounted on top of the support. A doctor's sink cabinet is located adjacent the doctor's side of the chair.

  • Patent number: 4002385
Abstract: A drawer arranged to be pulled out from opposite sides of a cabinet contains a receptacle half the length of the drawer. A transverse roller is mounted in an opening at mid length in the bottom of the drawer to roll on the bottom of the drawer compartment in the cabinet. The receptacle rides on the roller whereby the receptacle is moved toward the outer end of the drawer when the drawer is opened, regardless of the direction in which the drawer is pulled out of the cabinet.
