Abstract: A storage and sterilization tray assembly for sterilizing, transporting and storing surgical instruments includes a rack having a top, a bottom and four sides, and at least one slidably mounted drawer carried therein. At least one of the sides includes at least one pivotally mounted door which is moveable between a closed position in which the at least one slidably mounted drawer is retained in the rack, and an open position in which the at least one slidably mounted drawer may be slid at least partially out of the rack. The door also serves to stabilize the rack against tipping when in its open position. Preferably, one or more removable trays are carried in the drawer, and the rack includes a plurality of openings in the top, bottom and sides, aligned with openings in the drawer, for permitting ingress and egress of sterilant therethrough.

The structure includes a main compartment and two adjustable side compartments located on each side of the main compartment. Each of the side compartments can slide toward the main compartment or away from the main compartment thus decreasing and increasing the size of the side compartments and decreasing and increasing the overall width of the structure so that the structure precisely fits within the inside width of the drawer. The overall width of the structure can be adjusted without cutting of the material making up the structure and without making any permanent alterations to the structure. Thus, the structure can be easily sized to precisely fit the inside width of a large number of different drawers and many other enclosed spaces.

Abstract: An incubator or drying oven is provided having a housing bounding a useful space. The useful space communicates with the exterior through a front opening. An inner door is hingedly mounted to the housing and is configured to selectively cover the front opening. An outer door is also hingedly mounted to the housing and is configured to selectively cover the inner door. Mounted on the housing adjacent to the front opening is a locking element. The locking element has a slot formed on the side thereof. A latching assembly is mounted to the inner door. The latching assembly includes a hub rotatably mounted to the inner door about a first axis, a tongue projecting from the hub and configured to be received within the slot of the locking element, and a handle attached to the hub opposite the tongue. The handle is rotatably connected to the hub about a second axis that is substantailly perpendicular to the first axis. A spring continually biases the handle away from the inner door.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an inner case with lid for a cash box, comprising: a casing, formed as a rectangular box, which is open on the upper side, with some insertion openings on the back side, a horizontal groove above the insertion holes, and at least one hole in the front side; several bill holders, placed in the casing and having extensions that are insered into the insertion holes; a lid for covering the casing with the back edge of the lid being inserted in the groove of the casing; and at least one lock, attached on the lid, facing one of the holes on the front side of the casing and used to fix the lid on the casing.

The desktop has a generally rectangular configuration. The desktop has a pair of storage containers. A table top portion is coupled with an upper surface of the desktop. The table top portion includes a plurality of sections hingedly coupled together at side edges thereof. The plurality of sections fold one over another to expose the desktop.

Abstract: A safety mechanism for an overhead aircraft luggage bin for preventing baggage from falling from the bin when the door cover of the bin is opened. The safety mechanism includes a roll-up screen mounted on the door cover which cooperates with a latch mounted on the lower edge of the opening to the bin. The latch and roll-up screen mechanism are operatively associated whereby when the door cover is in covered or closed position, the screen is rolled up and latched to the latch. When the door cover is moved to the uncovered position the screen is unrolled and covers the opening to the bin to prevent any luggage from falling from the housing. The screen can be unlatched so as to remove the screen from the opening.

Abstract: An improved document tray for scanners includes a supporting part and covering means. The supporting part is used to hold a document for scanning and the covering means is used to press and fix the document. The covering members does not need to be opened for inserting a document into the supporting part. The document tray of the invention indeed improves the drawbacks of the prior art so that the tray will not jam or be damaged when it is pushed into the scanner.

Abstract: A concealed desk comprises a desktop or worksurface, with supporting side panels and a kneehole opening and storage compartments under the desktop. The front of the desk is enclosable by folding doors mounted on front side edges of the desk side panels. When the doors are opened, the doors preferably fold against the side panels of the desk and do not obstruct either the appearance or the use of the desk. The door facades are those of conventional doors and conceal the presence of a kneehole opening or storage compartments in the desk opening inside the doors. The desktop surface of the desk is concealed by an upper storage unit that is mounted on the desktop or that comprises an extension of the desk, above the desktop or worksurface. Doors may also enclose the top portion of the desk unit in the same manner as the doors on the lower portion, giving the furniture the appearance of a cabinet or a secretary.

The storage compartment may have a catch that is releasable only from inside the storage compartment for preventing removal of the storage compartment from the medicine cabinet when the storage compartment is closed and locked.

The flat side margins slidably engage the tops of the upstanding side walls of the drawer to facilitate movement of the platform in the forward and rearward direction relative to the drawer. Support members are integrally coupled close to the rear edge of the panel for slidably engaging upper edges of drawer slides to support the platform rearwardly of the drawer. Downwardly depending flanges are integral with the panel side margins near the front edge of the panel to engage the insides of the drawer walls for limiting front-to-back and lateral movement of the platform relative to the drawer. Lips on the flanges engage beneath folded-over upper ends of the drawer side walls to inhibit vertical movement of the platform relative to the drawer.

The latch member releases only the engaged state of the main body and the cover at a third position which is between the first position and the second position. Further, the latch member is usually urged to the first position by a compression coil spring which deforms upwardly in a convex shape at the second position of the latch member.

The housing includes first to third card storage portions having insertion ports open to one side surface of the housing, respectively, for card-like electronic components. A first cover is provided on the housing and rotatable between a closed position wherein the insertion port of the first card storage portion is closed by the first cover and an opened position wherein the insertion port of the first card storage portion open. A second cover is provided on the housing to be movable between a closed position wherein the first cover located in the closed position and the insertion ports of the second and third card storage portions are covered with the second cover and an opened position wherein the first cover and the insertion ports of the second and third card storage portions are exposed.

Abstract: An open-top case is provided wherein an inside portion of the open-top case is separated by partition plates in a lateral manner, whereby several bank note storage portions are provided in the open-top case. Several openings are provided in an upper region of the partition plates. Accordingly, money handling for bank notes can be done easily even if the bank notes are small sized. Because an upper region of each of the bank notes are exposed at the openings regardless of the size thereof, it is easy to touch the bank notes at the openings even for small sized bank notes. Also the bank notes are reliably supported by the partition plates since it is not necessary to provide a wide opening in the partition plates for easy access to bank notes.

The drawer side walls are respectively coupled to slide assemblies, each including a runner defining an upwardly opening channel. The length of the tray is less than the distance between the drawer side walls so that it nests within the drawer. The platform slides forwardly and rearwardly of the drawer between a forward position completely covering the drawer and a rearward position permitting access to the drawer.

Abstract: A latching mechanism is disclosed for application in vending machines, or the like. In a preferred embodiment the latching mechanism is of one-piece construction. The latching mechanism comprises a ramp mounted to an outer door of the vending machine and configured such that an inner door of the vending machine remains latched to the outer door when it is pulled away from a dispenser housing to access the refrigerated compartment therein. The ramp preferably comprises a ridge on a horizontal surface thereof. When the inner door is urged against the outer door, it passes over the ridge and comes to rest on the ramp. The ridge deters the inner door from sliding off the ramp and becoming detached from the outer door. An appropriate amount of force applied to separate the two doors causes the inner door to roll over the ridge and swing away from the outer door.

Abstract: A storage cabinet for grinder plates and knives is set forth particularly to be used in a butcher shop. Disk-like grinder plates and multi-edged rotary knives are stored on hooks in a housing having a front door, the door being supported by a long piano hinge at one end to hold the grinder plates and knives in view through a translucent window in said housing. A separate compartment with a separate door with separate hangers is included for dirty grinder plates and knives.

Abstract: The invention relates to overhead luggage bins in the cabins of aircraft, the bin being either pre-existing or equipment to be newly fitted. Such bins have horizontally elongate frontal access openings. The invention provides that behind the main front door panel which closes such an opening there is provided transparent visor means which masks at least the lower part of the access opening while enabling objects within the bin to be seen. An essential feature is that the visor means are constituted by multiple part-visor located side by side, each of which are self latching on closure of the visor means, the part-visors being individually openable on unlocking of the latching means. This arrangement reduces the risk of heavy objects falling from the bin in that it militates against inadvertant simultaneous uncovering by one person, of the whole lateral width and extent of the frontal access opening of the bin.

Abstract: A space-to-sales vend rack including a plurality of adjacent vend columns having a wide range of respective storage capacities, the columns being configured for supporting products in vertical stacks therein and being arranged in groups to provide space for respective products commensurate with the anticipated sales of such products. Some of these columns are fixed within the vending machine in which certain of these columns are mounted for at least partial removal from the interior of the vending machine to provide access to all of the columns for loading them with the products to be dispensed and for maximizing the numbers of groups of columns which can be placed within a given interior space of a vending machine.

Abstract: One end of an internal barrier assembly is attached to a forward side of a cabinet below a door of the cabinet by bolt and nut fasteners threadably assembled together at the exterior of the cabinet to be readily visible to an observer inspecting similar bolt and nut fasteners for the cabinet door, all such fasteners preferably being disposed on a common face of the cabinet. The bolt and nut fasteners have holes therein through which a wire loop of a lead security seal is wound and the integrity of all seals may be visibly observed without opening the door.

Abstract: An improved double hung access opening cover is disclosed wherein a fixed frame borders the opening, a movable frame is hingedly attached to the fixed frame on one side of the opening and to the cover therefor on the other side, and wherein a crossframe element is hingedly attached to the cover on the same side of the opening where the movable frame is attached to the fixed frame about a hinge pin axis in common with the latter and to the fixed frame on the other side thereof where the movable frame is attached to the cover about a hinge axis in common therewith. These elements can, by way of example, be arranged and shaped to define a cabinet having independently accessible compartments positioned one behind the other or, in another form, a door which when opened from one side uncovers the doorway and from the other provides access to a closet.

The assembly comprises at least one carton containing medicines and an open top tray to receive the at least one carton. The tray comprises a pair of side walls, a pair of end walls, and a bottom. The carton is generally rectangular having first and second side walls, end walls, a bottom and a flap-like planar top. When received within the tray, the carton extends slightly above the upper edge of the tray walls. The tray has at least one individual lid corresponding to and overlying the top of the at least one carton. The tray lid is pivotally mounted in a pair of upstanding hinge elements located on the upper edges of the tray side walls. At least one of the carton top and the tray lid is provided with attachment devices to releasably attach the carton top to the tray lid such that opening and closing of the tray lid will simultaneously open and close the carton top.

Abstract: A bag holder comprises a generally rectangular housing in which plastic shopping bags having peripheral dimensions larger than those of the housing itself can be stored. The housing has a forward opening and a pair of doors which are hinge-mounted on opposing sides of the opening for movement between open and closed positions. A bag retainer is mounted on a rear wall of the housing and inserts into aligned handles associated with the bags to releasably retain upper bag portions. A bag folding element is hinge-mounted in the interior of the housing for movement between a first position in which the folding element extends through the housing opening and permits lower bag end portions to be rested between the folding element and rear housing wall and a second position in which the folding element folds the lower bag end portions upwardly and is concealed within the housing.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a drawer the upper surface of which is open is inserted drawably in an outer case on which is mounted a register, and a receptacle case of an upper-lower double structure comprising a money case as an upper stage the upper surface of which is open and a receptacle portion as a lower stage is inserted in the drawer, with an insertion aperture being formed in the front face of the drawer which insertion aperture is in communication with the receptacle portion, whereby slips, gift coupons, etc. which have been inserted from the insertion aperture and received in the receptacle portion can be transferred as they are to a predetermined place together with the cash received in the money case, and the recovery of those slips, gift coupons, etc. can be done easily without a mistake.

Abstract: A reversible hinge for use on a freezer compartment door of a single door refrigerator includes a stationary leaf for mounting to the refrigerator cabinet and a movable leaf for mounting to the freezer compartment door, as well as a tension spring extending therebetween to provide bias toward either an open position or a closed position. The spring is connected between a first pair of tabs when the hinge is mounted for left-hand opening of the freezer compartment door and between a second pair of tabs when the hinge is mounted for right-hand opening of the freezer compartment door.

A barrier hinge is provided by forwardly projecting hinge members having eyes formed to receive the barrier. A limit stop is provided by angulated grill work members of the barrier which contact a mounting plate to limit upward travel of the spring biased barrier.

The coupling mechanism has a drive assembly mounted on the inner door in such a way as to pivot around an axis parallel to that of the hinges. The coupling mechanism is coupled to the shell of the appliance and to the outer door in such a way that the outer door is forced to one side and away from the axis of the hinges when the inner door is opened.

The cabinet also may include a lesser number of door-carried vertically oriented punch nests for storing vertically oriented punches. All of the stored punches are so situated that their operative surfaces are protected against striking metal objects so that they will not be nicked, scratched or dented, necessitating repair. The cabinets are of a proper size for modular storage on a toolmaker's steel shelving.

Abstract: A tape player for vehicles which comprises a tape player set having cushion members on its top and bottom surfaces as well as an operation board on its front face, an inner case covering the tape player set, and an outer case receiving the tape player set and the inner case, and in which the cushion members and the inner case are fixed to the outer case and the operation board, respectively, in a manner permitting disassembly of them, so that the tape player set, the inner case and the outer case are incorporated and can be easily disassembled.

Abstract: A cash drawer includes a separate compartmented money tray which is removable therefrom. The removable money tray is compartmented both for bills and coins. The drawer includes a number of compartments in the bottom thereof and slots in the front wall of the drawer which correspond to each of the compartments. When the money tray is received in the drawer, different kinds of media such as checks, slips, or coupons can be stored in the drawer by inserting the appropriate media through a corresponding slot so that it is guided by the bottom face of the money tray into a corresponding compartment in the bottom of the drawer.

Abstract: A vending machine providing for easy and convenient repair of the machine in the event of external damage thereto as by defacement or vandalism. The front surface of the vending machine has a removable panel covering a substantial portion of the front surface area. The side surfaces of the machine are also provided with removable panels which are identical to the panel on the front surface such that a single type of replacement panel may be used to provide repairs for three different sides of the machine in the event any one of the panels is mutilated or defaced. The identical panels extend for substantially the full height of the vending machine and extend for substantially the full width of the sides of the machine and across a substantial portion of the width of the front thereof, thereby providing coverage of a substantial portion of damagable surface areas of the vending machine.

Abstract: An improved delivery box assembly for a merchandising machine in which a door biased by gravity to a position at which it closes the delivery box opening is adapted to be pushed inwardly to rotate a pair of cranks carrying pins which ride in slots formed in crank arms carried by baffle pivots to rotate the baffle to a position at which it prevents access to the merchandise storage units of the machine before the door has been opened to an appreciable degree. An anti-jam flap prevents an article which is delivered while the door is open from falling into a pocket formed by the pivoted baffle and a stationary baffle thus to prevent jamming of the mechanism as the parts return to their initial position.

Abstract: A releasable locking mechanism for maintaining the door of a merchandising machine in an open position for loading or servicing. Respective link arms pivotally interconnected at one end are pivotally coupled at their other ends to the door and to the cabinet for movement to an aligned position limiting further movement of the door away from the cabinet. A spring biases one of the arms from its aligned position against a stop to provide an automatic locking action, while an extension of the link arm coupled to the door permits ready kick release of the arms from their locking position.

The casing has an inner case having spaces defined therein by partitions, the spaces being adapted to receive various manipulation members, and an outer case adapted to be closely fitted to the outside of the inner case. In assembling, the outer case is fitted to the outside of the inner case, after placing respective manipulation members in respective spaces in the inner case, so that the manipulation parts are firmly clamped between the inner and outer cases of the casing.
