Abstract: A protection mechanism in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a bracket for being secured to a rear portion of a computer chassis, and first and second covers respectively pivotally attached to the bracket. Adjacent sides of the first and second covers each form a lug. The lug of the first cover abuts against the lug of the second cover so as to prevent the second cover from rotating.

Abstract: An enclosure includes a back enclosure unit, a front enclosure unit hinged to the back enclosure unit, a rod coupled to the front enclosure unit, and a spring latch coupled to the back enclosure unit, wherein the rod engages the spring latch when the front enclosure unit is closed upon the back enclosure unit.

Abstract: A storage cabinet provides for the secure storage of items against unauthorized access, with ready authorized access The cabinet has an opening extending laterally across the front of the cabinet, and a door having panels carrying latches, the panels being movable laterally between a latched position and an unlatched position, and being pivotally mounted for movement between a lateral orientation, wherein the panels close the opening, and a transverse orientation, wherein the panels allow access to the items stored in the cabinet. A locking arrangement selectively locks the panels in place when latched in position closing the opening, for preventing unauthorized access. When unlatched, the panels can be pivoted to open access through the opening, and can be folded and moved in transverse directions into the cabinet so as to maintain a compact, unobstructed configuration when the cabinet is open.

Abstract: A food table cover comprises a pair of end plates interconnected by a pair of end rails and a curved roof. The spaces between the edges of the roof and the end rails are normally closed by a pair of curved door which can be lifted to gain access to food under the cover. The major components are preferably transparent plastic or have screen panels, so that one can see the food without having to open the doors. A pair of dovetail elements may be included, one at either end of the cover, to enable a series of covers to be linked together on a table surface.

Abstract: A safety cabinet is disclosed which includes an enclosure having a double-walled construction and a pair of doors to selectively seal the enclosure. The safety cabinet includes a lock bar and a pair of retaining arms that permit the lock bar to be set across the front of the safety cabinet, thereby preventing the safety cabinet doors from being opened. The lock bar may be locked in place at both ends to the retaining arms by use of removable locks. When locked in place, the lock bar protects the safety cabinet from accidental or unauthorized opening. The enclosure is mounted on top of a base that contains two forklift pockets designed to accommodate the fork of a forklift. An indicator is disposed on the safety cabinet for, among other things, making the safety cabinet easy to locate and indicating the nature of the contents stored in the safety cabinet, especially in situations where the safety cabinet is located in a room where there is smoke or low light.

Abstract: The present invention provides an integrated truck box and removable insert for positioning within a truck bed. The integrated truck box and removable insert includes first and second truck box body sections and a removable insert. Each truck box body section may have a lid enclosing an interior of the respective body section into which items may be placed. The truck box body sections are also disposed adjacent to one another to define a cavity therebetween into which the removable insert may be positioned. At least one of the lids of the first and second truck box body sections overlaps a portion of the cavity such that when the removable insert is positioned with the cavity, the insert and at least one of said first and second truck box body sections having the at least one overlapping lid form an interference with one another to inhibit removal of the insert from the cavity.

If threaded receivers, which are oriented toward each other, are positioned on two oppositely located panel elements at least in the connecting area with a vertically adjoining panel element, and fastening elbows are connectible with the bearing receivers in adjustable angular positions by clamping screws having an adjustment knob and can be fixed in place, then the housing can be easily attached to a fastening surface and its angular position can be adjusted.

A rear panel forming a necklace well between the rear panel and the drawers of the lower section defines a rear section. A plurality of necklace hangers attached to the rear panel, a top panel forming the top of the box hinges to the rear panel and has a mirror on an inside face so that a user may lift the top panel in hinged connection to the rear panel. An upper section is formed of a pair of doors, a left door and a right door. A right door tray mounts as a bottom face located on the right door holds articles. A left door holds an earring booklet.

Abstract: Disclosed is a dual-hinged cover of a console box for an automobile. The console box, which is installed between a driver seat and an assistant seat, has an operation mechanism containing two pairs of links and rods so that the cover can be opened and closed with equal convenience from either seat. On the hinging side of the cover the leading ends of the rods move away from a shaft and are received into recesses while on the opening side the leading ends move toward the shaft until released from the recesses. Thus, the cover can be selectively opened and closed from the driver seat and the passenger seat according to the operation mechanism.

Abstract: Disclosed is a dual-hinged cover of a console box for an automobile. The console box, which is installed between a driver seat and an assistant seat, has an operation mechanism containing two pairs of links and rods so that the cover can be opened and closed with equal convenience from either seat. On the hinging side of the cover the leading ends of the rods move away from a shaft and are received into recesses while on the opening side the leading ends move toward the shaft until released from the recesses. Thus, the cover can be selectively opened and closed from the driver seat and the passenger seat according to the operation mechanism.

Abstract: Presented is a tool storage system for pick-up trucks that includes releasably interconnected independent units that are separately manufactured and which are assembled into a composite assembly of interconnected units that fit snugly yet removably in the cargo bed of a pick-up truck. The tool storage system incorporates elongated left and right side storage boxes that straddle the rear wheel compartments that protrude into the truck bed. These elongated lidded storage boxes are attached to associated side walls of the truck bed so that the top surface of the lids lie flush with the top edges of the truck side walls. A central array of separate and independent storage boxes arranged in tandem from the front wall of the truck bed to the tailgate are mounted within the cargo compartment between the elongated left and right side storage boxes.

Abstract: A closet door assembly includes at least one closet door having a back panel, an outer side panel, an inner side panel, a top panel, and a bottom panel connected to the back panel forming an interior space. At least one shelf is positioned within the interior space of the closet door. A top frame is attached to a top of a closet doorway. Each closet door is pivotally connected to the top frame with an upper hinge assembly and pivotally connected to the floor surface of the doorway with a lower hinge assembly. The hinge assemblies are attached near the outer side panel of each door thereby permitting the inner side panel of each door to pivot between a closed position within the doorway and an open position away from the doorway.

Abstract: A storage system (10) is described in which one or more receptacles (14) for storing articles are pivotally supported on a support shaft (12). Each receptacle (14) is provided with a bracket (16) arranged to support the receptacle and coupled to the shaft (12) in a manner to allow the bracket (16) to pivot about the shaft (12). In this way, each receptacle (14) can be individually pivoted about a shaft (12) to allow access to that receptacle and any article stored therein. The storage system (10) makes more efficient use of space and can be accessed more easily than a conventional chest of drawers or cupboard.

Abstract: A dish washing machine according to the present invention has vertically divided upper and lower doors 16 and 17 for covering an opening of a washing chamber. The upper door 16 is opened through its upward pivotal movement about its shafts 20. The lower door 17 is opened through its downward pivotal movement about its shafts 22. The upper door 16 is fully opened through its pivotal movement substantially through 180 degrees. The lower door 17 is opened to a substantially horizontal position. And when the lower door 17 is in this opened state, a basket 4 contained in the washing chamber 3 can be pulled out onto the lower door 17.

Abstract: An improved storage cabinet that is relatively light weight while providing enhanced structural strength. The cabinet has specially formed side panels and back panels which, when joined together, form columns throughout the height of the cabinet's rear corners to enhance the cabinet's structural strength. The cabinet also has an end panel door stop, whose front edge is folded to create a reinforcement section, for cabinet doors to bear against. The cabinet also has double doors with complimentary forty-five degree and one hundred and thirty-five degree angle bends at the double doors' center line to prevent unauthorized line-of-sight access to the contents contained within the cabinet.

Abstract: A mobile industrial tool chest having modular shelving is provided. A frame having a top, a base and a rear wall therebetween defines an interior of a first embodiment of the tool chest. A pair of generally L-shaped doors are pivotally coupled to the frame on opposite sides and adjacent to the rear wall. The doors are movable between open positions where access to an interior of the tool chest is permitted and closed positions where access to the interior of the tool chest is prohibited. The shelving brackets are preferably arranged in a plurality of vertical columns. A plurality of variously shaped shelves are provided for removable coupling with the shelf brackets. A second embodiment of the tool chest defines an interior of the tool chest by a back wall and first and second side walls. The interior of the second embodiment similarly includes columns of shelving brackets accessible through an opening in the front of the tool chest.

Abstract: An armrest storage compartment includes a hinged cover assembly including a base hinged to the storage compartment and a cover slidably mounted to the base by a slide assembly. The slide assembly, in one embodiment, includes a U-shaped rod which is secured to the base and a pair of sleeves mounted to the cover with a polymeric slide material extending between the rod and sleeves to allow the cover to slide forwardly and aft with respect to the base. In a preferred embodiment, the base, when uncovered by moving the cover forwardly, includes a storage tray, cup holder or other accessory, which is stacked above the storage compartment.

Abstract: In a cabinet, particularly an equipment cabinet for electrical and electronic components and equipment having a particularly simple construction and ensuring an optimum accessibility to the installation area as well as a high security against unauthorized opening, not only the front door and a rear wall, but also the side walls are provided with hinges and can be articulated, as desired, either on the right or left. The hinge system has upper and lower hinge pins and two hinge pin receptacles in each corner connector of a frame. The two hinge pin receptacles are in each case formed in a shoulder of the corner connector.

Abstract: A media presentation system to present media in a work environment is provided. The work environment includes at least a first work space and a second work space and adapted for association with a frame system having a plurality of floorstanding posts and overhead beams. The media presentation system includes a first cabinet adapted to present media and situated in the first work space. The media presentation system also includes at least one articulating panel having a first and a second face. The articulating panel is adapted for mounting to the cabinet and for selective positioning between a first position and a second position. The articulating panel, when in the first position, conceals the media and the articulating partition, when in the second position, increases the relative level of privacy provided by the first work space.

Abstract: Disclosed is a storage container with an internal locking mechanism. The storage container with internal locking mechanism includes a base, a roof, sidewalls extending between the base and roof, and first and second doors rotatably mounted directly or indirectly to the first and second sidewalls, respectively. The first and second doors are configured to rotate between open and closed positions. The second door includes a door surface with a recess formed therein. The recess includes a recess surface and a recess sidewall. The recess sidewall extends between the recess surface and the door surface. A recess aperture is formed through the recess surface. The internal locking mechanism further includes a tab fixedly mounted directly or indirectly to the first door. The tab includes an aperture for receiving a shackle of a lock. The tab aperture defines a centerline that extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to respective planes in which the roof and base are contained.

Abstract: Disclosed is a storage container with an external locking mechanism. The storage container includes a base, a roof, sidewalls extending between the base and roof, and first and second doors rotatably mounted directly or indirectly to the first and second sidewalls, respectively. The first and second doors are configured to rotate between open and closed positions. The locking mechanism includes a tab fixedly mounted directly or indirectly to the first door. This tab includes an aperture for receiving a shackle of a lock. The tab aperture defines a centerline that extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to respective planes in which the roof and base are contained. The locking mechanism also includes a container fixedly mounted directly or indirectly to the second door and configured to receive the lock. The lock container comprises a lock container base, and lock container sidewalls extending from the lock container base. A first lock container side comprises a lock container aperture.

Abstract: An interlocking door seam provides a stronger seam for double doors, making them less subject to attack by prybars and the like. Particularly for central mail stations (CMS) and central box units CBU, double doors present there are subject to attack by prybars and the like that force the locks and allow thieves to rifle the contents of the enclosed mail boxes. Attachment of interlocking door seam to the first edge of the first double doors protects that first edge from prybar attacks. The adjoining edge of the second double door then releasably fits into a convex strip that protects the adjoining edge of the second double door, thereby protecting it from prybar attack. The interlocking door seam allows normal operation of the double doors while decreasing the risk to the central mail station of prybar attack at the seam between the double doors. Flanges present along the free edge of the convex strip provide easy engagement of that free edge.

Abstract: A double, front loading, dishwasher comprising two side-by-side dishwashing cabinets each provided with a washing arm and either a common pump and motor or an individual pump and motor is described. Preferably, the dishwasher is designed to fit into an existing kitchen cabinet and even more preferably into an eye level kitchen cabinet so that while one cabinet is used to store clean dishes and cutlery the other cabinet is available to load and wash another set of dirty dishes. Storage of a set of clean dishes in the dishwasher saves time as the step of unloading the dishwasher to a separate storage cabinet is eliminated, as the clean dishes may be unloaded directly to the table.

Abstract: Center stiles in cabinet doors are ornamental and may be removed if full unfettered cabinet width is desired. This invention is for a bracket for attaching a removed center stile to an edge of the cabinet door to preserve the appearance of the original cabinet.

Abstract: A mechanism for self-latching access doors of a safety cabinet following sequential self-closing of the doors. Latching takes place between the doors and at a top and bottom frame of the cabinet. A latching arm and two actuating arms extend from a bellcrank which is biased toward a latched position. An interference bar prevents rotation of the bellcrank to the latched position when the doors are open. Upon sequential self-closing of the doors an actuating means slides the interference bar to a position of non-interference with the bellcrank which enables the self-latching action to take place.

Abstract: A multipurpose food service trolley has a parallelepiped cabinet with closed lateral walls, end doors, a pair of support surfaces on its upper face, separated by a central opening, two sliding bottoms; and internally, a prismatic container, open at the top, provided in the central opening to divide the interior of the cabinet in two chambers. Abstract: A mounting arrangement for communications network base stations within a tower interior wherein each base station is secured between upper and lower platform plates by a pair of co-axial swivel mounts. The swivel mounts allow the base stations to be rotated about a vertical axis between a first angular position suitable for the base station to operate and to allow the platform to be raised and lowered and a second position in which the base station door can be fully opened to provide access to the base station interior for maintenance purposes.

Abstract: A dual open console for use with a vehicle. The console includes a lock assembly that allows opening of only one side of the console at a time. The lock assembly includes a pivot bar engaging locks on both sides of the lid of the console. The pivot bar operates to ensure that the lock on one side of the lid remains engaged when the lock on the other side is released.

Abstract: A rolling toolbox is provided which has a generally rectangular frame. The frame forms an interior compartment and has a front plate, a rear plate and opposing end plates mounted thereon. The front plate has an opening therein. Mounted to the frame in pivotal relationship is at least one bin which has an end plate, a retaining plate and opposing side plates. Mounted to the retaining plate is a rearwardly extending latch. A drawer is slidingly received within the frame through the drawer opening. The drawer has a handle extending upwardly therefrom. The handle of the drawer matingly fits with the latch of the bin to hold the bin in a closed position during transport of the toolbox. The bin may be opened by pulling thereon, the latch releasing from the handle upon the application of an opening force on the bin.

First and second storage compartment assemblies are supported by the base member and include first and second compartment regions. Sliding trays are positioned over the compartment regions. Hinged covers cover the sliding trays. Lock bars extend downward from distal edges of hinged covers which prevent the sliding trays from sliding outward when the hinged covers are closed. A third storage compartment assembly is supported by the base member and is located between the first and second storage compartment assemblies along a longitudinal axis. The third storage compartment assembly includes a plurality of drawers arrayed along a vertical axis, wherein each of the drawers includes a drawer handle. Each of the drawer handles is in linear alignment with the other drawer handles and the lock loop.

When a handle portion 116 is manually pivoted and displaced, it rotates cams 98 and 98a and, thus, a thrust-up rod 94 is pushed up and a push-down rod 94a is pushed down. The thrust-up rod 94 pushes and displaces a swing plate 66 in a hinge mechanism 16a. The push-down rod 94a pushes and displaces a swing place 66 in a hinge mechanism 16b. Then, the swing plates 66 in the hinge mechanisms 16a and 16b fail to bind hinge pins 22 and 26, respectively, and the right side of a door 14 is released. By pulling the right side of the door 14, the door 14 can be opened on the axis of hinge mechanisms 16c and 16d which are provided on the left side of the door. On the other hand, when a left unlocking mechanism 20b is operated, the door 14 can be opened on the axis of the hinge mechanisms 16a and 16b on the right side of the door. Therefore, the door 14 can be opened to either right or left side.

Abstract: A safety cabinet for the storage of flammable or combustible materials has doors designed to automatically close in a specified sequence. The door sequencing device has three components: a stop bracket mounted to one door, a cam bracket mounted to the other door and a slide bar with a roller on one end mounted to the inside surface of the top of the safety cabinet. The slide bar is operably associated with the two brackets such that it blocks the movement of the stop bracket on one door until the cam bracket of the other door engages the roller and removes the slide bar from the path of the stop bracket thereby allowing the second door to close.

Abstract: A cabinet and door assembly including a cabinet having a horizontal member such as a top including a lower surface and at least one side wall. The assembly further includes at least one first door member pivotly mounted on at least one second door member. The second door member is pivotly mounted on the side wall of the cabinet. The first and second door members are moveable between closed and open positions. The assembly further includes a hinge assembly operatively connected to the lower surface and the first door member for guiding the first and second door members during movement between the closed and open positions.

Abstract: A rolling toolbox is provided which has a generally rectangular frame. The frame forms an interior compartment and has a front plate with an opening therein, a rear plate and opposing end plates mounted thereon. The frame also has a top section mounted thereon which has a flat top surface and converging lower surfaces that extend into the interior compartment. Mounted to the frame in pivotal relationship are a pair of bins which each have an end plate, a retaining plate and opposing side plates. A number of holding members are mounted to the interior of the bins and a tray is removably housed within the bins on top of the holding members. A drawer is slidingly received within the frame through the drawer opening. The drawer has a pair of opposed ends which each have an outer perimeter corresponding to the shape of the drawer opening. The drawer has a holding plate mounted between the opposed ends in a recessed location from the outer perimeter.

Abstract: A portable knockdown display apparatus for displaying food and keeping the food fresh on ice during use of the apparatus. The apparatus includes a rack for holding food receptacles, a cover removably seated on the rack for protecting the food receptacles, a plurality of individual legs, and a container having a bottom and a plurality of sidewalls that define a cavity for retaining ice during use of the apparatus. The container has a plurality of attachment wells for releasably attaching the legs to the container so that the container is elevated to table height. During use of the apparatus, the container is capable of receiving the rack in its cavity to maintain the food receptacles in physical proximity to the ice. When knocked down into a portable formation, the container is capable of receiving the rack, the cover, and the legs in its cavity to facilitate ease of transportation and storage.

Abstract: A hazardous material containment and storage unit is disclosed. The unit comprises a basin in which a plurality of molded plastic pods are positioned to form a support surface for placing containers of hazardous material such as conventional fifty-five gallon drums. Each pod may be molded form a collection basin so that only individual pods have to be removed and cleaned when a spill occurs. The containment tray formed by the basin and pods may be enclosed by a plurality of door structures pivotally attached to a door support arch. The vertical sides of the door support arch are positioned within recesses and attached to ledges on the outside surface of the basin. Each door structure has a top, side and front panel which covers a separate quadrant of the containment tray when the doors are closed. A pod for supporting a conventional drum in a generally horizontal orientation over the basin is also disclosed.

Abstract: A video cassette recorder casing includes a panel provided with one or more fitting holes, a front door provided with a same number of supporting bosses at its lower part as that of the fitting holes, each of the bosses having an inserting hole, and a same number of detachable clasps as that of the fitting holes. Each of the clasps is divided into a head, a body and a tail portions, the head portion being M-shaped, the tail portion provided with a pair of pins, one end of each of the pins fixed to the tail portion and the other end thereof being free in such a way that the pair of pins are inserted into one of the inserting holes of the supporting bosses. The front door is attached to the panel by fitting each of the clasps into each of its corresponding fitting holes of the panel.

Abstract: A dual-hinged center console that has a longitudinally extending cam rod retention cavity is disposed within each side wall of the center console adjacent to a lid, the cam rod retention cavity is also in axial alignment with the retention member in each side wall. Further, a cam rod is rotatably mounted in each side of the lid. Each cam rod is disposed in a corresponding cam rod retention cavity at the corresponding side wall when the lid is in a closed position. When the lid is in a open position, only one cam rod is disposed in one cam rod retention cavity of the corresponding side wall. Each cam rod has a latch handle that is attached at one end of the cam rod. Upwardly rotating the attached latch handle of one of the cam rods retracts that cam rod from the retention member of the corresponding side wall. This allows the lid to be rotated about the other cam rod to an open position.

Abstract: A foot pedal door opener device for side-by-side doors of a cabinet includes a right side foot pedal for opening a left side door of the side-by-side doors, and a left side foot pedal for opening a right side door of the side-by-side doors. The right and left side foot pedals are pivotably attached to pivot points on the cabinet. Actuator members are fixedly attached to the right and left side foot pedals. The actuator members are disposed to engage the opposite doors when a foot pedal is actuated, thereby opening the opposite door. The actuator members extend from one foot pedal toward the other foot pedal, such that a portion of the actuator members are in an overlapping, non-interfering relationship.

Abstract: An improved storage cabinet is provided which is particularly suitable for the safe storage of flammable materials. An embodiment of the cabinet includes two side-by-side doors which close toward each other. Each door is self-closing, being biased in a closed position by a spring. For convenience, each door can be retained in an open position by a chain. The chain includes a fusible link which melts in the presence of a dangerous level of heat, allowing the associated door to close. In order to protect the interior, the doors have overlapping edges. Accordingly, the cabinet has a closing synchronization mechanism which causes the dual doors to close in a predetermined order.
