Having Handle Cooperating With A Latch Patents (Class 312/332.1)
  • Patent number: 11441329
Abstract: A handle locking structure includes a handle having a pivot portion pivotally connected to a sliding box, a buckle portion for hooking on a cabinet and a handle shaft, and a positioning structure including a base connected to the handle shaft, a positioning device mounted in the base and an elastic member placed on the positioning device. When the handle is hooked on the cabinet, a peripheral limiter of a head member of the positioning device is disengaged from a position-limiting notch of the base to reset the elastic member, so that the positioning device is automatically locked to the sliding box, avoiding vibration of the handle and improving the locking stability of the handle.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a coupling rod having a longitudinal axis and disposed within one or more bearing elements that laterally constrain the coupling rod while enabling axial rotation, multiple latching barbs coupled to the coupling rod, rotational force elements that apply a rotational force to the latching barbs in a latching direction and resist rotation of the latching barbs in an unlatching direction. The apparatus may be deployed in a rack system having a rack drawer. The apparatus may also include barb engagement elements for engaging and latching the latching barbs when the rack drawer is moved from an open position to a closed position. Rotation of the coupling rod in the unlatching direction unlatches the latching barbs when the rack drawer is in the closed position and enables a user to open the rack drawer. A method that uses the apparatus is also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A drawer latch assembly. The assembly provides a catch member which is mechanically connected but a separate component from the drawer handle. The drawer handle and catch operate in a concerted pivoting motion and pivot about a common fastener. The drawer handle provides a pair of arms which extend through the front wall of the drawer and have terminal end portions which include the cut out segment which locates and receives a portion of the latch member. In this manner the latch and terminal end portions of the arms are keyed together which alleviates stress on the pivot point and allows for easy repair of the arrangement in the event that either the handle or the catch become damaged.
