  • Publication number: 20080018213
Abstract: A drawer slide assembly having an adjustment mechanism includes a slide, an adjusting lever, and a guide block. A first aperture, a pivoting part, and a second aperture are disposed on the slide. The adjusting lever includes a first end, a middle section pivoted to the slide, and a second end. The first end corresponds in position to the first aperture, and the second end corresponds in position to the second aperture. The guide block is pivoted to the second end of the adjusting lever. A protruding portion is disposed to the bottom of the guide block to slide in the second aperture by turning the guide block. The adjusting lever deflects and the first end slides in relation to the first aperture. A fastening member penetrates through the first end to connect to and fine tune for higher or lower of a drawer or similar object.

  • Patent number: 6666340
Abstract: A rack rail assembly having an adjustable length that can be installed, without any tools or loose hardware, into a rack having mounting holes that are square or circular. It is also preferred that the rack rail assembly be reversible and able to support sliding and fixed deployment modes as well as cable mounting equipment. Accordingly, one preferred embodiment of the rack rail assembly comprises inner and outer rail members that are slidingly engaged. The rail members are adjustable lengthwise to be able to be used with various depth racks. The assembly further comprises a primary locking mechanism that locks the rails together at the desired length. The primary locking mechanism is further coupled to a biasing mechanism that allows the rails to be compressed for installation within a rack. Each end of the rail assembly has at least two pins that interface with mounting holes located in the rack. Preferably, the pins are capable of interfacing with circular or rectangular mounting holes.

Abstract: A rail system for an equipment rack includes a removable bracket on each rail of the system which can be exchanged between the rails to enable the rail system to be coupled between the posts of an equipment rack in multiple configurations. Each rail additionally includes a front bracket, a fixed center bracket, and a rear bracket. In one mounting configuration, the front bracket and the removable center bracket are coupled to a post of the equipment rack. In a second configuration, the removable center brackets of the rails are exchanged with one another so that the rail system can be mounted in a center mount configuration in which the removable center bracket and the fixed center bracket are mounted on opposite sides of the post. The rail system includes a rear bracket with cable management features.

Abstract: A low cost cabinet pedestal wherein at least the top and side walls are formed from a single piece of material without the need for any additional stiffening members such as vertical rails for drawer slides, or any other internal strengthening members. The bottom of the low cost pedestal can also be formed from the same single sheet of material and a base panel can be added for rigidity. The top, bottom, and side walls can have flanged members at the edges thereof, and overlapping portions of the flanged members at corners of the pedestal can be rigidly joined together to provide increased stiffness to the pedestal. The side walls of the pedestal can be provided with integrally formed connection portions for the direct attachment of horizontal drawer slides.

Abstract: A slide assembly for slidably mounting a computer server unit to a rack. The slide assembly includes a stationary member and at least one slidable member slidably mounted thereto. A front bracket is mounted to a front end of the stationary member and a rear bracket is mounted to a rear end of the stationary member. Both the front and rear brackets include a plurality of dual-diameter mounting pins and a pair of spring elements having different lengths. The mounting pins are positioned within holes in the rack columns and one of the spring elements snaps behind the rack column to hold the slide assembly to the rack. If the holes in the rack columns have one diameter, then the mounting pins extend partially through the holes and contact a shoulder of the pin. In this orientation, the shorter spring element snaps behind the back column. For a larger diameter or square rack column hole, the mounting pins extend completely through the holes where the longer spring element snaps behind the rack column.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for easily and inexpensively coupling a chassis to a slide. Computer related components are disposed within a chassis that is disposed within a rack. A sliding assembly that includes an inner slide allows the chassis to be extended from the rack such that the computer related component can be easily replaced or serviced. The inner slide has an opening extending therethrough that is partially covered by a spring that extends over the opening. A protrusion extends from a side surface of the chassis that can be engaged with the opening so as to couple the chassis to the inner slide. When the protrusion is being inserted into the opening, the spring deforms so as to allow the protrusion to enter the uncovered portion of the opening. When the protrusion reaches the uncovered portion of the opening the spring automatically moves back into its undeformed shape so as to engage the protrusion.

  • Publication number: 20030106864
Abstract: A method and apparatus for easily and inexpensively coupling slides together. A spring that couples to one slide engages an opening in an adjoining slide to latch the two slides together in a fully extended position. The spring includes a protrusion that is angled on one side and that is abruptly raised on the other side. The two slides are easily coupled by engaging angled edges of the two slides and moving the slides together. As the protrusion reaches the opening, the force of the spring causes the protrusion to enter the opening such that the slides are in the latched position. Continued movement causes the angled side of the protrusion to contact the side of the opening and moves the protrusion out of the opening, allowing the second slide to be moved into the unextended position. Thereby slides are easily coupled together without the use of any tools. In addition, the slides are easily uncoupled by deforming the spring and moving the slides lengthwise.

Abstract: An anti-tilt mechanism for a drawer assembly, the drawer assembly being in a rack, is disclosed. The anti-tilt mechanism comprises two railing portions coupled to the rack and two brackets, each of the two brackets respectively coupled to one of the two railing portions. Each of the. two brackets comprises a first planar portion and a second planar portion, the second planar portion coupled to the top of the first planar portion and extending substantially perpendicular to the first planar portion, the second planar portion capable of preventing the drawer assembly from tilting during a slidable operation thereof. The anti-tilt mechanism in accordance with the present invention prevents the drawer assembly from tilting during the slidable operation of the assembly. This is desirable because if tilting occurs during the slidable operation of the assembly, the assembly could be damaged and/or a system operator could be injured.
