The storage system also includes a plurality of holders, each of the holders being configured to hold at least one container containing medical supplies, and each of the holders being supported by a respective one of the scales. The storage system also includes a receiver in operative communication with each of the load sensors. Each of the load sensors is configured to continuously measure a weight of the medical supplies contained in the respective at least one container held by the respective holder, and to communicate each detected weight to the receiver.

If a preceding reading is within a threshold amount of the current reading, then the preceding reading is stored as a verified value. Disposable liners may be placed within the bins, within drawer liners, or within cubies or mini-drawers. In some applications the liners may be color-coded for a predetermined use or patient compartmentalized with dividers, or customized with special labels. The disposable liners may have a tapered form so that multiple liners may be stored in a nested stack to minimize space requirements and to be loaded into a liner dispenser system.
