Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a storage container upon removal from a storage compartment. A door is disposed proximate the storage compartment and is movable between an open position and a closed position. The door includes a mating feature. The storage container includes a retention feature. The mating feature is configured to engage the retention feature and support the storage container when the door is in the open position and the storage container is removed from the storage compartment.
Abstract: A media-disk case has an envelope having spaced front and back walls forming a cavity opening at an edge formed with a cutout, a plastic pin extending along an axis in the cavity and having ends fixed adhesively to the walls, and a plastic insert formed with a seat adapted to hold the disk, with a thickened edge region, and with a hole traversed by the pin. The insert is fittable in the cavity and pivotal about the pin between an open position largely outside the cavity and a closed position contained in the cavity and with the edge region fitting in the cutout. A plastic stop adhesively fixed to the walls in the cavity offset from the pin is closely juxtaposed with and bears on the insert in the closed position. A frangible plastic web is unitarily formed with the stop and with the insert. The insert can only be moved from the closed position to the open position on rupturing of the web.

Abstract: A container for storing disc-like storage media is disclosed. The container for storing disc-like storage media includes a back cover and a turntable. The back cover has a front opening. The turntable has a substantially planar front side and a fan-shaped back side. The fan-shaped back side includes multiple storage grooves radially distributed around the fan-shaped back side. Each of the storage grooves is capable of receiving a substantially planar storage medium. The turntable is rotatable from a concealed position in which the fan-shaped back side is concealed within the back cover to an exposed position in which the fan-shaped back side is at least partially extends outside of the back cover.
Abstract: A compact disk storage device has a base and a hinged lid. The inner surfaces of the base and lid each contain arcuate ribs which are parallel to and equally spaced-apart from one another. Each pair of adjacent ribs defines a shallow groove. Each rib in the base has a height which varies along its length. The upper edges of the ribs located near the front edge of the base are generally pointed. The upper edges of the ribs located near the rear edge of the base are generally blunt and shorter than the ribs near the front edge. The lesser cross-sectional dimension of the ribs near the rear edge allows the disk to seat properly in the groove without hindering its alignment.
