Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided to enable loading and/or unloading of a storage drive. The body has a first end, a second end, and a path extending from the first end to the second end. The body is configured to receive the computer readable storage device and maintain the computer readable storage device in a first position. The body is configured to passively change orientation from a first orientation to a second orientation responsive to contact from the computer readable storage device. The first orientation maintains the first position of the computer readable storage drive and the second orientation facilitates traversal of the computer readable storage device along the path.

Abstract: A case allows a disc to be inserted and removed smoothly without the case being opened, and also inhibits the accumulation of dust on the disc. The case has a movable holder and a fixed holder arranged inside, both of which individually define a circular arc. The movable holder is rotatable about its middle, and the rear of the fixed holder is fixed to the case so that the front portion of the fixed holder can flex. With the lever on the movable holder moved towards the bottom of the case so that the movable holder is rotated towards the front opening, a disc can be stored by inserting it through the front opening and causing the movable holder to rotate backwards and the front portion of the fixed holder to flex away.

Abstract: A device (1) for storing a plurality of protective cases (2) on a holding element (11). The protective cases (2) have an insertion opening (5) on one end face (4) for inserting flat information carriers (3), particularly CDs or DVDs, and a second face (16) resting at least partially on the holding element (11). To simplify the storage of the protective cases (2) and the removal or insertion of the information carriers (3), the holding element (11) has a tab (15) in an edge area, which engages with a recess (17) in the second face (16) of the protective cases (2), such that a corresponding protective case (2) can be pivoted from a storage position (9) into a removal position (10). In the removal position (10) the information carrier (3) can be removed from the protective case (2) without the necessity of detaching the protective case (2) from the holding element (11).

Abstract: A media-disk case has an envelope having spaced front and back walls forming a cavity opening at an edge formed with a cutout, a plastic pin extending along an axis in the cavity and having ends fixed adhesively to the walls, and a plastic insert formed with a seat adapted to hold the disk, with a thickened edge region, and with a hole traversed by the pin. The insert is fittable in the cavity and pivotal about the pin between an open position largely outside the cavity and a closed position contained in the cavity and with the edge region fitting in the cutout. A plastic stop adhesively fixed to the walls in the cavity offset from the pin is closely juxtaposed with and bears on the insert in the closed position. A frangible plastic web is unitarily formed with the stop and with the insert. The insert can only be moved from the closed position to the open position on rupturing of the web.

Abstract: A disk cartridge includes a substantially box-shaped outer case that has an opening on one end face, and an inner case that is housed in the outer case such that the inner case can be pulled out and has a concave portion for an optical disk to be placed therein. In an end portion on a side of the opening of each of an upper side plate and a lower side plate of the outer case, a substantially V-shaped cutout formed by a substantially circular arc and an inclined substantially straight line is formed. In the inner case, a substantially U-shaped cutout formed by a substantially circular arc and two inclined substantially straight lines is formed. The substantially straight line forming the substantially V-shaped cutout and the two substantially straight lines forming the substantially U-shaped cutout are virtually parallel to each other.

Indented tabs are provided on each of said side walls to keep the disc centered when fully inserted into the cradle.

Abstract: A display device for holding DVDs, video cassettes and/or other similar content media, includes a housing having a substantially tubular shape with a lateral opening; a case disposed in the lateral opening and rotatable about an axis with respect to said housing; and a shelf adapted to hold a stack of media articles. The case is rotatable between an open position, in which the content media can be removed from the shelf, and a closed position in which the articles are inaccessible. A lock is also provided to selectively prevent or block movement of the case.

Abstract: A rack unit for stacking storage medium disks such as compact disks (CDs) in a stacked cylindrical arrangement attached by arms to a vertical post attached to an enlarged base support. The cylindrical arrangement is oriented to be off-center in relation to the base support. The unit includes substantially planar and flat narrow support arms for holding and supporting the disks, so that the disks can be closely stacked to one another. The arms can include flat and planar clip ends thicker than the rest of the arms for snapably attaching about vertical post, where a step edge allows for an exterior edge of the disk to abut against it. The narrow support ends can include a wider substantially flat and planar support surface having an upwardly protruding and flexible hub portion which can snugly fit within the through-holes of the disks.

The disc storage case according to the present invention is formed by connecting together in one body two substantially triangular case members, each of which has an opened portion and plural partition plates, at one end portion of each thereof so that the case members can be opened and closed freely.

Each cradle consists of a base having generally parallel vertically upstanding side walls, a rear wall and a vertical upstanding front wall. One of said side walls is higher than the other to act as a guide when inserting the disc into the slot formed between the two side walls. Means are provided on each of said side walls to keep the disc centered when fully inserted into the cradle. The top of the front wall of each cradle is provided with a cutout portion and a tab is provided either on the bottom or the top of said cutout to facilitate pulling down the cradle and the location of the tab alternates on adjacent cradles to minimize the chance of inadvertently pulling down the adjacent cradle.
