Patent number: 9615011Abstract: An electronic device includes an elongated tubular housing. One or more electronic components are coupled to a chassis disposed in a cavity of the tubular housing. A pair of elongated channels are positioned on opposite sides of the chassis and between the chassis and a sidewall of the tubular housing. The channels are tapered or wedge-shaped along their lengths. During assembly, one of the channels may be slid longitudinally along the other, causing the channels to expand laterally, due to their wedge shape, to secure the chassis in the tubular housing. The chassis and the pair of channels provide a thermally conductive path to dissipate heat. During use, heat generated by the electronic components is transmitted radially outward from the electronic components, through the chassis and the pair of channels, and through the tubular housing to the exterior of the portable electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2015Date of Patent: April 4, 2017Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Ryan Michael Fleming, Christopher Michael Buonomo, James Nelson Aldrich, Alexander Hu, Bradley David Urban, Aviv Shoval, Nagesh Rao Janapala, Christopher Lorenzo Dunn, Kok Yen Cheng, Bryan Dan Trinh, Christopher John Kraeutle

Patent number: 9585221Abstract: A circuit for driving a Light-Emitting Diode (LED) light source is provided. The circuit includes a bridge rectifier, a switch unit, a current detection unit and a logic control unit. When the arcing occurs, the current detection unit detects a current signal flowing through the set of light emitting diodes; the logic control unit is adapted for generating a corresponding control signal according to the current signal, so as to control the switch unit to switch off a path from which the set of light emitting diodes receive DC power. Thus, the arcing is eliminated or suppressed, and arcing protection is achieved. Further, after the arcing protection, the LED light source can be restarted by the circuit. A LED light source is also provided. The LED light source includes the above circuit.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2016Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Assignee: CHANGZHOU LUMIXESS TECHNOLOGY CO., LTDInventors: Zhong Chen, Xiao Sun

Patent number: 6150760Abstract: An implosion protection-enhanced cathode ray tube (CRT) includes an evacuated envelope structured from a display panel section, a neck, and a funnel section. The CRT comes with a reinforcing metal band for implosion protection clamped by thermal shrink-fit methods around the outer periphery of the panel. This implosion-protective band may be a metal strip of generally rectangular closed-loop shape. The strip is machined to have bent walls so that it resembles in shape an open-roof dome as a whole. Preferably, the band has its one edge as folded back or "curled" defining a "flip." Upon attachment to the display panel, the band is placed so that the "peak" of each bulged wall is offset in position from a mold match line of the panel toward the CRT neck. With such "band preoffset" feature, the implosion-protective band offers increased locking or clamping forces against the panel thus enhancing the CRT implosion protecting ability.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1999Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignees: Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Device Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasumasa Tsuchiya, Shinji Murooka

Patent number: 4825067Abstract: An X-ray television apparatus includes an X-ray image intensifier and an imaging unit. The X-ray image intensifier converts an X-ray image into a visible image. The visible image is transmitted to the imaging unit by optical fiber bundles coupled with each other by a coupling mechanism. The imaging unit converts the visible image into an electrical signal of an image. Bolts are threadably engaged with a flat ring base provided to the X-ray image intensifier. By an elastic pressure of coil springs into which the bolts are inserted, a holding member provided to the coupling mechanism couples the imaging tube to the X-ray image intensifier via the optical fiber bundles. An electrostatic shielding film is formed on a surface of the holding member and prevents a pseudo signal generated by the X-ray image intensifier from entering the imaging unit, thereby reducing the noise components contained in the electrical signal of an image.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1987Date of Patent: April 25, 1989Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Shigeharu Kawamura, Yoshiharu Obata, Yuichi Fujimoto, Kinya Kabashima
