Abstract: A light string of ornamental piece is provided wherein each ornamental piece includes electrical wiring that provides electrical power to a light element for each ornamental piece. The ornamental piece includes a shroud that is made up of mated shroud halves that are constructed and arranged to receive the electrical wiring and capture the light element therebetween. The shroud halves are each formed with a decorative base and integral neck having a top surface through which the electrical wiring extends. The light element is supported so as to be disposed within the base of the shroud so as to illuminate the base of the shroud.
Abstract: The invention refers to a chamber for measurements of electrical properties of reactive powder or liquid samples, allowing the measurement of various electrical parameters to be carried out. The present invention provides the chamber in two variants of embodiment: the multiple use chamber and the single use chamber. The construction of the chamber provides the possibility of carrying out the measurements with the sample placed directly between parallel active surfaces of the electrodes placed coaxially and sliding in a precise manner in to a thin-walled cylinder made of insulating material providing electric insulation. Elements remaining in contact with the sample are made of chemically inert materials. Additionally, a module containing a pair of the electrodes and the cylinder made of insulating material is detachable from the rest of device elements, that enables its loading and hermetic closure in a glovebox filled with inert gas.

Abstract: An electrodeless discharge lamp apparatus is provided which is increased in heat dissipation, making it possible to adapt to an increase in output of the apparatus. The electrodeless discharge lamp apparatus comprises a bulb containing a discharge gas and a coupler accommodated in a cavity formed in the bulb for generating a high frequency electromagnetic field. The coupler has: an induction coil; a core inserted into the coil; a heat conductor for conducting heat generated from the coil and the core; and a bobbin made of resin which accommodates the core and the heat conductor therein, and which has the coil wound therearound. The bobbin is designed to be separated in a radial direction of the coil, so that it is possible to separately mold the respective parts of the bobbin.

Abstract: An electrodeless discharge lamp comprising: an airtight container bulb made of a transparent material and enclosing a discharge gas; and a coupler (coil assembly body), contained in a cavity formed in the bulb, for generating a high frequency electromagnetic field by conducting a high frequency current in a coil to excite the discharge gas so as to emit light, wherein the coupler comprises: a pipe-shaped cylinder formed of a thermal conductor for heat release; a skeleton-shaped bobbin mounted on an outer surface of the cylinder along an axial direction of the cylinder; a core made of a soft magnetic material provided at an opening formed by the skeleton of the bobbin and being in substantial surface contact with the cylinder; and a coil wound around a surface of the skeleton-shaped bobbin and the core.
Abstract: An apparatus for producing light includes a chamber that has a plasma discharge region and that contains an ionizable medium. The apparatus also includes a magnetic core that surrounds a portion of the plasma discharge region. The apparatus also includes a pulse power system for providing at least one pulse of energy to the magnetic core for delivering power to a plasma formed in the plasma discharge region. The plasma has a localized high intensity zone.
