Abstract: A daylighting device includes a photo-voltaic (PV) device that is mounted in or proximate to the daylighting device that provides sunlight to a service area. The PV device generates a power signal from incident sunlight. The power signal provides operational power to circuitry associated with the daylighting device, such as a transmitter that transmits a value representing the intensity of light on or near the daylighting device. This signal, which is generated either from the power signal or from a signal provided by a photosensor mounted in or proximate to the daylighting device, may be used by a control system to adjust light levels provided by artificial light sources to supplement the sunlight provided by the daylighting device to approach the desired light level in the service area.

Abstract: A method for command transmission and configuration to sensor implemented by ambient light source is disclosed and adopted by a sensor having a light-sensing unit. The sensor collects ambient light time series data through the light-sensing unit, and extracts valid brightness toggle data therefrom. Next, the sensor determines if the obtained brightness toggle data matches with a triggering condition of a pre-stored command. When the obtained brightness toggle data matches with the triggering condition, the sensor outputs a flashing signal through its display unit and further determines if receiving a confirmed brightness toggle data or not. When receiving the confirmed brightness toggle data within a waiting period after outputting the flashing signal, the sensor automatically performs the pre-stored command corresponding to the matched triggering condition.

  • Patent number: 9832832
Abstract: Digital Control Ready (DCR) is a two-way open standard for controlling and managing next-generation fixtures. A DCR-enabled lighting fixture responds to digital control signals from a separate digital light agent (DLA) instead of analog dimming signals, eliminating the need for digital-to-analog signal conditioning, fixture-to-fixture variations in response, and calibration specific to each fixture. In addition, a DCR-enabled lighting fixture may also report its power consumption, measured light output, measured color temperature, temperature, and/or other operating parameters to the DLA via the same bidirectional data link that carries the digital control signals to the fixture. The DLA processes these signals in a feedback loop to implement more precise lighting control. The DCR-enabled lighting fixture also transforms AC power to DC power and supplies (and measures) DC power to the DLA via a DCR interface.
