Impedance Or Current Regulator In The Supply Circuit Patents (Class 315/224)
  • Patent number: 9918364
Abstract: An electronic circuit drives a plurality of LED strings connected in series. The electronic circuit includes a regulation module corresponding to each LED string, with the regulation module connected to the cathode terminal of the corresponding LED string. Each regulation module is further coupled to receive a reference voltage in phase with a rectified a.c. voltage. The regulation modules execute in turn and in sequence a current-regulation phase as a function of a trend of the reference voltage. Each regulation module, when executing the current-regulation phase, functions to regulate the current that flows in the corresponding LED string and in any previous LED strings in the series connection so that the regulated current is proportional to the reference voltage.

Abstract: A compensating method for a ripple compensation circuit of a power supply is provided. The power supply includes an LLC resonant converter. The LLC resonant converter receives an input voltage and generates an output voltage. Firstly, the output voltage is subtracted from a reference voltage, so that a first error signal is generated. Then, a digital filter is provided to increase a low frequency gain of the first error signal, so that a second error signal is generated. Then, the first error signal and the second signal are added, so that a modulated error signal is generated. Then, a compensation signal is generated to control the LLC resonant converter according to the modulated error signal. Consequently, a low frequency gain of the input voltage is increased and a low frequency ripple of the output voltage is suppressed by an increased voltage loop compensator response.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to modular series-connectable LED light strings having an input connector and an output connector for electrically communicating power and a control signal, an input control signal being actively level-shifted to a level suitable to a first lighting element of the LED light string. In an illustrative embodiment, the LED light string may have a plurality of series connected lighting elements that generate a series of intermediate supply voltage levels. In some embodiments, the active level shifter may bias the input control signal between an DC voltage level applied to a positive supply pin of the first lighting element and the intermediate supply voltage level generated at the connection of a negative supply pin of the first lighting element and the positive supply pin of the second lighting element. In some embodiments, active level-shifting may advantageously restore the proper bias for a series connected light string.

  • Patent number: 9690308
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a voltage converter comprises a voltage converter circuit, an output adjuster and a controller. The controller provides a control signal at a duty ratio determined dynamically by a set of input signals. The dynamic output adjuster determines the set of input signals by adjusting the ac component of an output voltage based on a gain Q. The dynamic output adjuster alleviates dependence on the value of Rc under leading edge modulation in either analog or digital converter systems. In addition to delivering the desired left half plane zero effects, dynamic output adjustment reduces the value of the output ripple. As a result, modern control methods such as input-output linearization can be used to design both boost and buck-boost PWM converters if only left half plane zero effects are present.
