For example, the control device may comprise a base portion configured to be mounted to an electrical wallbox or over a mechanical switch, and a control unit connected to the base portion. The control unit may comprise a rotation portion rotatable with respect to the base portion, an actuation portion, and a light source. The control unit may be configured to control the light source to illuminate at least an illuminated portion of the actuation portion in response to actuations of the rotation portion and the actuation portion. In addition, the control unit may provide a limit indication on the illuminated portion by blinking the illuminated portion when the electrical load has reached a limit.

The power device receives both power and communication over two wires. The controller generates a phase-control voltage and transmits a forward digital message to the power device by encoding digital information in timing edges of the phase-control voltage. The power device transmits a reverse digital message to the controller via the power wiring.

The energy systems can be arranged in single phase or multiphase topologies with multiple serial or interconnected arrays. Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus for locating luminaires within a lighting system where multiple luminaires are located on a grid of DC power rails. The AC signal generator connects to each DC power rail and transmits an AC signal along each DC power rail in turn to luminaires that each compute their distance from the generator based upon the AC signal. The AC signal generator may similarly transmit and receive data communications with luminaires across DC power rails.

Abstract: A rectangular pulse generator system is operatively configured to generate a generator output signal, the generator output signal formed as a base rectangular waveform gated by a modulating rectangular waveform, the base rectangular waveform having a first frequency and the modulating rectangular waveform having a second frequency less than the first frequency. Abstract: A control system that facilitates energy efficient management of building automation systems is disclosed. The control system comprises a source circuit configured to generate a modulated DC control signal comprising data modulated on a DC source signal having a power associated therewith and a load circuit configured to receive the modulated DC control signal. In addition, the control system comprises a transmission circuit comprising a DC powerline, coupled between the load circuit and the source circuit, and configured to transfer the modulated DC control signal from the source circuit to the load circuit, thereby multiplexing both the power and the data transfer over the DC powerline. In some embodiments, a frequency of the modulated DC control signal comprises a first information associated with the data, and a pulse width of the modulated DC control signal comprises a second, different information associated with the data.
