Homopolar Or Uniform Field Motors Patents (Class 318/253)
  • Patent number: 8101889
Abstract: In a built-in drawer type cooking device, an open/close door 2a and a heating container 2b that constitute a drawer body 2 are separably connected to each other. The open/close door 2a and the heating container 2b are connected via an insulator 10 to prevent a discharge phenomenon due to emission of microwaves. The open/close door 2a and the heating container 2b can be separated from each other with the drawer body 2 being drawn out, and thus the heating container 2b can be taken out of the cooking device and cleaned or wholly washed. An inner wall surface of a heating chamber 3 that is easily contaminated can be cleaned while being visually checked. The heating container 2b and the open/close door 2a are separately produced, and can be individually stored, conveyed and stacked, thereby reducing a rejection rate due to deformation and increasing productivity in an assembling process.

  • Patent number: 7816875
Abstract: The invention is a system for gearless operation of a movable barrier utilizing Lorentz forces, and in particular, a movable barrier operator retrofitted with a gearless motor capable of high torque at very low speeds. Eliminating a gear system in accordance with the present invention lowers maintenance requirements, increases efficiency, and streamlines operation of any movable barrier. By utilizing a motor which produces high-torque at low a speeds a system in accordance with the present invention does away with the need for complicated gears and pulley systems in order to achieve control of movable barriers. The present invention allows manufacturers, distributors and consumers to implement movable barrier systems with much more versatility and efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7272479
Abstract: The invention proposes an electrically operated power steering controller for inputting a driving electric current offset value of higher accuracy and being able to make an offset correction of a driving electric current by using this driving electric current offset value of higher accuracy, and an adjusting method of this driving electric current offset. Therefore, an electric motor driving electric current measuring device of accuracy higher than that of an electric motor driving electric current detector assembled into a controller CNT is prepared separately from this electric motor driving electric current detector. The driving electric current offset value of high accuracy is outputted by this electric motor driving electric current measuring device. An input device for receiving the driving electric current offset value of high accuracy from the driving electric current measuring device is arranged in an offset correcting device or an offset signal generator within the controller.

  • Patent number: 7064509
Abstract: An apparatus for determining angular positions of DC motor includes a capacitor connected in parallel with the DC motor. The current flowing through the capacitor, at any given time, is an AC ripple current responsive to a commutation event of the DC motor. The capacitor partially sources the motor current ripples during commutation and recharges itself during the off-commutation period. Since the number of commutation events per mechanical revolution is pre-determined once the DC motor is designed, the frequency of the AC ripple currents through the capacitor corresponds to the frequency of commutation, and thus a motor position of the DC motor.

  • Patent number: 5731645
Abstract: A flywheel energy conversion device provides highly efficient conversion between kinetic and electrical energy. The flywheel produces increased output by providing armature coils in an air gap formed about the flywheel (both radial and axial embodiments are described). In preferred embodiments, field coils of a magnetic circuit are energized with DC drive current that creates homopolar flux within a rotating solid rotor having teeth cut from a flat disk. The total reluctance of the magnetic circuit and total flux remain substantially constant as the rotor rotates. The flux may travel radially outward and exit the flat disk through the teeth passing across an armature air gap. Airgap armature coils are preferably utilized in which the changing flux density (due to the rotating teeth) induces an output voltage in the coils.
