Abstract: A slidable roof device for a motor vehicle is provided wherein a roof panel opening of a motor vehicle is openably covered by a flexible member. A front portion of the roof panel opening can be uncovered when a front portion of the flexible member is moved in the rearward direction of the vehicle body. A tilt mechanism is provided at a rear portion of the flexible member so as to tilt up the rear portion thereof and to form at least a clearance between the rear portion of the flexible member and the vehicle roof panel, thereby making sure that rear seat passengers can enjoy more a comfortable ride in the vehicle. Further, the tilt mechanism can be made to operate when the front portion of the flexible member is moved rearwardly so as to tilt up the rear portion of the flexible member to form at least a clearance between the rear portion thereof and the vehicle roof panel when the front portion of the flexible member is opened.

Abstract: The present invention is an automatic garage door operator with a two button portable controller enabling a secure mode and control of a load remote from the door operator. In accordance with the normal operation of the secure button, actuation when the garage door is closed toggles a secure mode between secure and non-secure states. In the secure state the automatic garage door operator does not move the door upon receipt of a door signal. To open the door when in the secure state the operator must first press the secure button to enter the non-secure state and then press the door button to open the door. The secure button has a secondary function when the garage door is open and the secure state is prohibited. Actuation of the secure button when the door is open toggles the state of a load remote from the automatic garage door operator between an on state and an off state. This control is achieved via a signal modulated on the electric power main.

  • Patent number: 4847542
Abstract: The present invention is an automatic garage door operator with a two button portable controller enabling a secure mode and control of a load remote from the door operator. In accordance with the normal operation of the secure button, actuation when the garage door is closed toggles a secure mode between secure and non-secure states. In the secure state the automatic gargage door operator does not move the door upon receipt of a door signal. To open the door when in the secure state the operator must first press the secure button to enter the non-secure state and then press the door button to open the door. The secure button has a secondary function when the garage door is open and the secure state is prohibited. Actuation of the secure botton when the door is open toggles the state of a load remote from the automatic garage door operator between an on state and an off state. This control is achieved via a signal modulated on the electric power main.

  • Patent number: 4841205
Abstract: A control device for a movable part, especially a sliding/tilting roof of a vehicle, comprises a motor for driving the movable part, wherein the terminals of the motor can be selectively connected to different poles of a power source by means of make-and-break contacts of corresponding relays, which make-and-break contacts each connect the corresponding terminal of the motor with the negative pole of the power source when the corresponding relay is not excited, and with the positive pole of the power source when the corresponding relay is excited. A first switch is provided, which is actuated through a control member driven by the motor and which interrupts the connection of the motor with the poles of the power source when the movable part reaches its closed position.

A damper position control device is disclosed which controls the angular position of an air mix damper. The damper position control device includes a motor actuator which drives the air mix damper and a control circuit. The motor actuator includes a drive motor for the air mix damper and a rotation control device including a regulator which regulates the upper and lower rotational limits of the shaft of the drive motor and a position detector which detects the rotational angle of the shaft. The control circuit controls the motor actuator in accordance with a plurality of detected signals. The control circuit generates a drive signal which drives the motor actuator and further includes a lock detector which detects if the shaft of the motor is locked against rotational motion in a first rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 4812724
Abstract: A control system for an angiographic injector which precisely regulates the speed of a motor used to expel contrast media from a syringe. The control system is centered around a microprocessor which receives commands from the operator via a keyboard, and then regulates the speed of the motor by supplying drive command pulses to a circuit which integrates the difference in frequency between the command pulses and another pulse train whose frequency is proportional to actual motor speed. The control system also includes a velocity loop which uses the motor back EMF to supply an analog voltage also proportional to motor speed to a difference amplifier in a conventional velocity loop. The system is a dual loop controller where the second loop provides approximate speed control, while the first loop provides a "velocity correction" voltage required to bring the system to zero steady state speed error.

  • Patent number: 4793458
Abstract: An improved shift motor assembly for selectively moving a shift rod or similar member between two gear-engaging positions for use, for example, in a two-speed axle assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a mechanism for limiting the amount of linear movement of a drive nut of a gear changing apparatus. The movement limiting mechanism interrupts an electrical circuit between a source of electrical energy and a bi-directional motor utilized to move the drive nut, thereby preventing linear movement of the drive nut beyond predetermined limit positions in either directions. The movement limiting mechanism includes a movable electrical contact which normally engages a stationary electrical contact. The movable and stationary electrical contacts form a single pole, single throw electrical switch which is connected in series between the source of electrical energy and the motor.

  • Patent number: 4730152
Abstract: A power antenna control for a motor vehicle comprises a Hall effect device responsive to motor armature rotation to generate pulses for equal predetermined increments of antenna travel. These pulses are applied to both position and stall counters. In extension, the antenna drive is stopped when the position counter reaches a number corresponding to a predetermined extended position, which may be full extension or some lesser extension. In retraction, the stall counter is used with a clock to indicate stall which, when detected, causes the antenna drive to be stopped. Automatic current limiting for drive torque limitation during stall is activated only when the position counter indicates a limited position range near full retraction. Further during retraction, if the antenna is stopped within a small position range of full rectraction, it is reset to a count indicating full retraction. The system eliminates the need for hard stall sensing reaction switches and thus reduces antenna drive cable fatigue.
