Abstract: The system comprises a plurality of driver modules coupled by a fault condition bus, e.g. single-wire bus. Each driver module includes an Error Flag Interface block coupled between a single terminal error flag input/output (EF I/O) and a Control block. Each driver module may be coupled- to a motor. When a driver module detects a local fault condition, its Error Flag Interface block is configured to lower the voltage at the single terminal EF I/O to communicate the change to the other driver modules. The Error Flag Interface block is further configured to monitor voltage changes at its single terminal EF I/O. An external fault condition is detected when the single terminal EF I/O is at a low voltage. The Error Flag Interface block is further configured to send a signal disabling the output of the driver module.

Abstract: The present application relates generally to Volt-VAR optimization for power distribution systems having advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). Distributed energy resources (DER) such as photovoltaic arrays are becoming prevalent in distribution systems. These DER systems inject power into the distribution system which can cause unfavorable changes, such as a rise in voltage across the feeder lines of the distribution system. Existing control proposals suffer from a number of shortcomings, drawbacks and disadvantages. In some instances, traditional controllers for distribution systems with DER systems may require information related to the arrangement of the distribution system which is unknown and cannot be provided by the advanced metering infrastructure. There remains a significant need for the apparatuses, methods, systems and techniques disclosed herein.

Abstract: When two (in particular electric) drives operate on wheels decoupled from each other in a motor vehicle, the drives should have an identical construction and the same properties. However, if one drive is stronger than the other, distribution factors other than 0.5 must define the target torque for the two drives, i.e. the fraction of a total torque, in order to provide a correction. The distribution factors are determined while the motor vehicle is in operation. For this purpose, a steering angle and an additional quantity such as the lateral acceleration or the yaw rate are determined and a check is performed to determine if the additional quantity has the correct functional dependency on the steering angle.

The engine ECU sends an initial explosion advance notification to the hybrid electronic control unit when the crank position of the engine reaches a specific position prior to an ignition timing of an initial explosion cylinder by a preset crank angle ?ec. Ignition of the initial explosion cylinder is performed at a timing when the crank position is further rotated by the preset crank angle ?ec. The hybrid electronic control unit sends a torque command in view of a counter torque T? to a motor ECU after elapse of a preset time period tv.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for controlling fan speed in a power supply. The apparatus measures input power to the power supply and measures the output power provided by the power supply over an interval. The apparatus determines values for the input power and output power and, using the two, determines how much power has been dissipated in the power supply. Power dissipation values are associated with particular fan speeds, and the apparatus adjusts the speed of the fan in the power supply based on how much power was dissipated during the interval. Increasing levels of power dissipation increases the fan speed, and decreasing levels of power dissipation decrease the fan speed.

Abstract: The vehicle-use start control system includes a control section which initializes a control signal outputted from the control section when a power supply voltage supplied is lower than or equal to a predetermined initialization voltage, and sets a voltage level of the control signal depending on the detected shift range of the automatic transmission, and a latch section which outputs a start permission/inhibition signal a voltage level of which is indicative of starting of an engine of the vehicle being permitted or inhibited. The latch section latches the voltage level of the start permission/inhibition signal when the power supply voltage is predicted to be lower than or equal to the initialization voltage during the start processing period.

Abstract: A fan module, especially a fan module which may reduce a rotating speed of a fan automatically when an object with static electricity gets into the fan is provided. The fan module includes a frame, a fan, an electrostatic induction unit and a controller. The fan is disposed in the frame, and the electrostatic induction unit is disposed on the frame and adjacent to the fan. The controller is electrically coupled to the electrostatic induction unit. When an object with static electricity gets into the electrostatic induction unit, the electrostatic induction unit outputs a sensing value to the controller. The controller determines whether to reduce the rotating speed of the fan according to the sensing value.

Abstract: When a short-circuit failure of any of switch portions (13) including switch elements (11) and parallel-connected feedback diodes (12) of an inverter circuit (7) is detected during the operation of a motor (1), a switch portion (13) where the short-circuit failure has occurred is checked for whether it is on the positive polarity side or the negative polarity side. The switch elements (11) are so controlled that all the switch portions (13) on the same polarity side as where the short-circuit has occurred are brought into a conducted state and all the others disconnected. This prevents a large electric current from flowing into each switch portion of the inverter circuit without requiring any switch to block the power distribution between a motor and the inverter circuit when a short-circuit failure of the switch portion of the inverter circuit occurs.
