  • Patent number: 8575878
Abstract: An energy converter includes a magnetism generation mechanism unit that generates a magnetic field when connected to an AC electrical power source, and a rotating mechanism unit having a single turn coil array member in which a plurality of single turn coils is disposed at a predetermined interval and a soft magnetic metal plate disposed on a side of the single turn coil array member opposite to the magnetism generation mechanism unit. The rotating mechanism unit is structured such that the single turn coil array member faces the magnetism generation mechanism unit across a predetermined magnetic gap and rotary driven by the magnetic field. Here, a drive signal period of the electrical power source is a period that maximizes an eddy current generated in the soft magnetic metal plate.

  • Patent number: 7466098
Abstract: A method for controlling an operation of a compressor and its apparatus can easily control an operation of the compressor without a request for a high-priced operation control apparatus by operating the compressor with controlling the amount of currents flowing into a winding coil of a motor (100) of the compressor according to load capacity of the refrigerator. The apparatus includes a control unit (103) for generating a control signal for selecting a main winding coil (M) of a linear motor (100) of a compressor or an auxiliary winding coil (M2) on the basis of the load capacity of a refrigerator, and a switching unit (101) for selecting the main winding coil (M) of the linear motor (100) or the auxiliary winding coil (M2) on the basis of the control signal. Herein, the main winding coil of the linear motor (100) is divided into a plurality of auxiliary winding coils (M2).

  • Patent number: 6930462
Abstract: In an apparatus and a method for controlling operation of a compressor, by removing deviation generated by resistance and inductance and removing an error in a stroke estimation value of a compressor, operation of the compressor can be accurately controlled. The apparatus includes a counter electromotive force detector for detecting a counter electromotive force generated at a motor of a compressor. A stroke calculator calculates a stroke estimation value of the compressor on the basis of the counter electromotive force, and a stroke controller controls a stroke of the compressor by varying a voltage applied to the motor on the basis of the calculated stroke estimation value and a stroke reference value.

  • Patent number: 6803738
Abstract: Magnetic forces are used as a controlled actuation mechanism to move and position objects of interest. In one embodiment, a first spherical surface has at least one magnetic positioner attached. A second spherical surface is positioned to move relative to the first spherical surface. A plurality of controlled electromagnets are spaced about the second spherical surface. Control logic energizes at least one of the controlled electromagnets to create magnetic interaction with at least one magnetic positioner to move the first spherical surface relative to the second spherical surface.

  • Patent number: 6242877
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling operation of a processing machine has a computer preferably with a computer aided design program configurable to model a kinematic velocity profile of a point of interest on a machine to be controlled. A graphical user interface on the computer enables an operator to select desired velocity points for a motor drive controlling motion of the point on the machine. A curve fit is applied to the velocity points to realize a desired velocity profile for the motor drive and the point on the machine. The desired velocity profile is then integrated and scaled in order to obtain a scaled velocity profile that realizes an actual, or target displacement of the point as dictated by operation of the machine. By controlling operation of elements of a machine with velocity profiles, coordination of associated elements and points on the machine can be visualized by an operator selecting the velocity points for each drive of the machine. A method for implementing same is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5770936
Abstract: A noncontacting power transfer apparatus, a noncontacting signal transfer apparatus(to be referred to below as a power coupler and a signal coupler, respectively), and a separate machine apparatus that uses these couplers are disclosed. The power coupler is composed of a primary side and a secondary side that are fixed to a static unit and rotatable unit of the machine apparatus, respectively, such that its output does not vary with arbitrary rotation by the rotatable unit. The signal coupler is composed of receiving side portion having a electric-to-light conversion device that converts an electric signal to an optical signal of rotational symmetry relative to the axis of rotation of the rotatable unit and a photoelectric conversion device that converts an optical signal to an electric signal. Accordingly, the rotatable unit can be supplied with power from the static unit even while rotating, and moreover, can communicate with the static unit.

  • Patent number: 4885487
Abstract: An electromagnetic oscillation motor has an asymmetrical four-pole stator with an a.c. winding including two paths connected in parallel. Each path includes two serially connected coils received on the adjacent poles of the stator. The poles of the stator forming one pair are offset in opposite directions away from each other, while the poles forming the other pair are offset toward each other relative to the symmetry axes of their corresponding poles of the armature, through a distance equalling one half of the angular width of the stator winding. The oscillation motor further comprises a four-pole symmetrical armature, its poles being provided with a d.c. winding. The coils of this winding are connected in pairs in the matched-series fashion, while the pairs themselves are interconnected in opposition.
