Patent number: 8924017Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention discloses an apparatus for recyclable absorption of electric retardation energy from a multiple axis industrial robotics system, including a robot control unit and at least one drive unit, which generates the electrical retardation energy at retardation. By an apparatus according to the present invention, the electric retardation energy, which occurs when a drive unit is retarded and is transferred into generator mode, may be recycled by the brake unit of the apparatus, which accelerates a mechanical device connected to the brake unit. The electric retardation energy is thus transferred into kinetic energy that may be stored in mechanical devices. An embodiment of the present invention also refers to a corresponding method for recyclable absorption of electric retardation energy from a multiple axis industrial robotics system.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2006Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: Aros Electronics ABInventors: Jerker Hellström, Magnus Wide

Patent number: 8278848Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of motors, a controller which generates control signals to control the plurality of motors and output the control signals, and a plurality of motor drivers which control corresponding motors among the plurality of motors if the enable signal among the control signal is input, and does not control the motors although the common signal is input if the enable signal is not input. Accordingly, the image forming apparatus may control a plurality of motors which is not necessary to be driven at the same time using an enable signal and thus the motors may be effectively controlled with low expense.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2009Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventor: Ho-bin Hwang

Patent number: 7230393Abstract: In response to detection of a skid of drive wheels based on an increase in angular acceleration ? of a rotating shaft of a motor, the control procedure of the invention refers to a map representing a variation in maximum torque Tmax against the angular acceleration ? and sets torque restriction of the motor to limit the torque level of the motor to the maximum torque Tmax corresponding to a peak value of the angular acceleration ?. When the torque restriction sufficiently lowers the angular acceleration ? to detect convergence of the skid, the control procedure cancels the torque restriction to a certain level of the maximum torque Tmax corresponding to a torque restoration limit ?1, which is set according to the degree of the skid. The torque restoration limit ?1 (that is, the maximum torque Tmax) is cancelled in a stepwise manner by a cancellation rate and a cancellation time corresponding to an additional accelerator depression relative to an accelerator opening at the time of detection of the skid.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2003Date of Patent: June 12, 2007Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Akira Hommi, Kiyotaka Hamajima, Mitsuhiro Nada

Patent number: 6316900Abstract: A single shaft type table feed device comprises a movable body and an auxiliary movable body 34. The movable body is supported by a guide rail 31 and can be freely moved by a feed screw shaft 35 in the axial direction thereof. The auxiliary movable body 34 includes an inside diameter portion through which the feed screw shaft 35 can be inserted. The auxiliary movable body 34 is supported by the guide rail 31 and freely movable in the axial direction thereof. The inside diameter portion 38a of the auxiliary movable body 34 is slidingly contacted with the feed screw shaft 35.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2000Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Assignee: NSK, Ltd.Inventors: Toshiharu Kajita, Hiroshi Fujita

Patent number: 4698560Abstract: In vehicular electric door lock arrangement the running time of a first adjusting unit is longer than the worst possible running times of the other adjusting units. The first adjusting unit operates a switching unit via which the running time of the other adjusting units is preset. The separate timing element for the control of the various adjusting units used in prior systems can be omitted, because this timing function is provided by one of the adjusting units.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1985Date of Patent: October 6, 1987Assignee: SWF Auto-Electric GmbHInventors: Marcel Andrei-Alexandru, Wolfgang Kofink, Eckhardt Schmid, Volker Tietz

Patent number: 4489256Abstract: A dynamic braking system is provided for electrically driven wheelchairs to slow the wheelchairs to a stop without needing to use a mechanical brake. A primary switch arrangement is provided for connecting resistors across the right and left wheelchair motors automatically when the switch control is in its off position, either because of purposely positioning the control by the patient or as a consequence of power failure. In addition, a secondary switching system is automatically actuated in response to the primary switching system being moved to its off position to cross connect or short circuit the terminals of the right and left motors to each other only after a given period of time to provide a secondary braking action to the motors and bring the wheelchair to a complete rest.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1983Date of Patent: December 18, 1984Assignee: Everest & Jennings, Inc.Inventor: Stephen L. Brodsky

Patent number: 4096417Abstract: A ribbon driving and tensioning apparatus includes a pair of identical mechanical assemblies connected to reversibly drive associated rollers which support a printing ribbon. Each assembly includes a bi-directional DC reduction motor the output shaft of which is connected through a friction clutch assembly to the supporting shaft of a roller. The roller shaft includes a brake for applying a resisting torque in a direction opposite to that of the shaft rotation. A switching assembly for reversing the current to the motors and thereby reverse the direction of drive of the motors includes a pair of reversing switches mechanically coupled to a lever adapted to be pivoted between a first and a second position by a strip actuator positioned on the ribbon. A strip actuator is positioned adjacent opposite ends of the ribbon such that the direction of travel of the ribbon is reversed when the ribbon is almost completely unwound from one of the rollers.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1976Date of Patent: June 20, 1978Assignee: Compagnie Internationale pour l'Informatique Cii-Honeywell Bull (Societe Anonyme)Inventor: Jacques Andre Chambolle

Patent number: 4072879Abstract: An interlock circuit is provided for tape and film machines which, when the high speed forward or reverse motors are in operation, prevents the main power from being turned off even though the operator might actuate the power switch. Instead of the power going off when the main power switch is operated during high speed operation, the machine continues to operate until the operator takes his hand off the fast forward or reverse drive switch, and then the brake is energized to stop the motion of the film or tape. When the brake cycle is complete, the power is then automatically turned off.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1976Date of Patent: February 7, 1978Inventor: Edward R. Wadleigh
