Accelerating Motors In Succession Or Selectively Patents (Class 318/91)
  • Publication number: 20030122511
Abstract: A stator includes an integrated yoke with upper and lower insulators provided on upper and lower ends thereof and stator coils directly wound around the insulators and the yoke. Wherein the yoke has an outer annular member and an inner annular member integrally formed therewith. The upper and lower insulators respectively have two outer rings and two inner rings integrally formed therewith corresponding to the outer and inner annular members of the yoke. Whereby the structure of the stator is simple and manufacturing of the stator is efficient.

  • Patent number: 5422550
Abstract: A control system and method for a plurality of motors utilize one, and only one, motor drive unit that provides power to drive any one of the motors. The system and method also utilize a controller that controls which of the motors to energize. Power from the motor drive unit can be communicated to one of the motors selected by the controller, or power from a primary power source can be communicated to one or more of the motors selected by the controller. Sequencing of the motors to and from the motor drive unit and the primary power source, and between the two, is automatically controlled, such as based on how long each of the motors has been used. Accordingly, a method of controlling a plurality of motors comprises: defining a motor utilization criterion; sensing a parameter affected by the number of the motors that are operating; and sequentially starting and cumulatively operating ones of the motors selected in response to the motor utilization criterion and the sensed parameter.

  • Patent number: 5363023
Abstract: In the present invention, a plurality of states of a transfer motor and those of a feed motor in a paper sheet transferring device located in a copying machine or the like are detected, and a plurality of sets are generated on the basis of the states according to fuzzy membership functions and fuzzy rules to determine the speed of the feed motor. A position of a center of gravity of a single area obtained by ORing the plurality of generated sets is determined as a control variable of the feed motor.

  • Patent number: 5283506
Abstract: The operation of a driving system for a cigarette packing machine, wherein the driving system has a rotary main drive and several slave drives electrically connected to the main drive, is controlled in such a way that any selected slave drive can be disconnected from, decelerated to zero speed, accelerated from zero speed to normal speed and reconnected into the drive system in predetermined angular positions of the main drive. Each slave drive transmits motion to one or more movable parts or units of the packing machine in such a way that the movable parts do not clash even though they are movable and do move relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 5150020
Abstract: In an automatic winder wherein each of a plurality of winding units thereof has a traverse drum driving motor and an inverter for driving the motor, the numbers of those inverters which are to be decelerated and accelerated are controlled in such a manner that the regenerative energy generated upon deceleration of the motors and the motor driving energy may be cancel each other.

  • Patent number: 4644232
Abstract: The present invention provides method and apparatus to control a plurality of DC motors each having an encoder by a sole microcomputer. The actual rotating speed of each DC motor is detected in response to the signal from the encoder. A pulse width of a voltage which is applied to each motor is controlled due to the deviation between the actual speed and a preset speed. The output signals from the encoders regarding a specific DC motor to the other DC motor are sequentially selected by a selection signal, thereby controlling the speed measurements and calculations regarding a plurality of DC motors and the duties of electric powers which are applied to the DC motors.

  • Patent number: 4341982
Abstract: A system for simultaneously and independently controlling a plurality of electric motors from a number of dispersed stations. The system operates by transmission of duty cycle modulated selected frequencies superimposed on a DC track voltage on a common power line servicing the motors. The modulation is variable and determines the speed of the motors. Transmitters are portable and designed removably to plug into a common signal transmission cable anywhere along its length without interaction. Receivers, each tuned to a specific frequency and associated with and controlling a motor, are coupled to the common power line.

  • Patent number: 4266485
Abstract: A system for controlling tractive effort in diesel electric locomotives when train hauling requirements are such that multiple locomotives are required. Equipment and method of operation disclosed provides individual control of lead and trailing units, utilizing relatively simple, reliable and inexpensive equipment which operates in conjunction with existing train controls. Operation of multiple locomotive trains at reduced horsepower settings per trailing loads will provide maximum fuel economy for varying track conditions.
