    Abstract: A pulsed-power circuit includes first, second, third and fourth compression stages. The first and second stages each include at least one pre-charged capacitor and at least one inductor in series, and at least one switch operative to pump a DSRD (drift-step-recovery diode). The pre-charged capacitor of the second stage is pre-charged in negative direction with respect to the pre-charged capacitor of the first stage. The third and fourth stages each include at least one DSRD. The switches of the first and second stage are operative to drive (pump and then pulse) the DSRDs of the third and fourth stages.

    Abstract: A generator includes a series-connected inductive energy store and a superfast drift step recovery diode, as well as a load connected in parallel to the drift step recovery diode and switches. The switches are arranged in series, and the inductive energy storage device is connected to the point of connection of the switches therebetween and adjusting the amplitude of the pulses on the load by changing the closing and opening times of the switches. The moment of closing of the second switch is in the time interval between the opening of the first switch and changing of the polarity of the current through the inductive storage, wherein the time of its opening is in the interval of time from the beginning of the pulse formation on the load until the next closure of the first switch.

    Abstract: A pulse generating circuit utilizes a drift step recovery transistor to apply power from a direct current power supply to a pulse forming network when a trigger pulse is applied thereto. The pulse forming network comprises a storage inductor connected in series with the transistor, a series connected separating diode and a drift step recovery diode which are connected in parallel with the storage inductor, a series connected pumping inductor and pumping resistor which together form a pumping circuit connected in parallel with respect to the separating diode, and a load resistor. Current passed via the transistor increases in the storage inductor and the pumping inductor and is blocked by the separating diode to inject electron-hole plasma from the pumping inductor into the drift step recovery diode when the transistor is conducting.
