  • Patent number: 5180975
Abstract: A first cam is fixedly provided on a base plate and a position-adjustable second cam is disposed apart from the first cam. A block movable by a driver is disposed between the first and second cams. While abutting against the first cam, the movable block is held at a fixed first position, and while abutting against the second cam, it is held at a second position defined by the second cam. The second position is preset, as desired, by adjusting the translational and rotational positions of the second cam and the movable block is switched by the driver between the first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 5174572
Abstract: A golf club includes a shaft and a rubber mounting seat which is provided on the shaft. The mounting seat confines a blind bore with a hemispherical bottom and has an open top end and an annular flange which projects inwardly from the open top end. A position indicator is received in the blind bore and includes a cylinder body which has a hemispherical bottom, a top end that is formed with a fluid cavity and a window that covers the fluid cavity. The window has a position marker formed thereon. The fluid cavity contains a volume of liquid therein. The liquid forms a positioning bubble beneath the window. The hemispherical bottom of the cylinder body extends into and is in frictional contact with the hemispherical bottom of the blind bore to permit tilting and rotative adjustments of the cylinder body within the blind bore. The cylinder body is initially adjusted so as to move the position marker to a desired position which corresponds to an optimum golf club striking position of a golfer.

  • Patent number: 4970796
Abstract: A tool for abutment against an object to detect when the object is at a predetermined orientation is temporarily securable to the object in order to free both of the operator's hands for other activities. Plural spirit level vials, oriented to face in different directions, indicate when the tool is vertical, horizontal or inclined at one or more predetermined angles. In the preferred form, the tool body has a central handle region from which arms extend in opposite directions and a pair of members extend laterally from the end of each arm to define segments of a right angled slot into which the object is fitted. The tool preferably has three different types of fastener including retractable nail-like pins which may be penetrated into wood or the like, elastic cords which may be used to clasp the object and magnets which cause the tool to cling to steel posts, pipes or the like.

  • Patent number: 4910876
Abstract: An attachment for connection with an elongated carpenter's level for forming an enlarged squaring tool, the level having a central web portion with spaced apart bubble indicators and parallel flanges at opposite end edges of the web portions. The attachment has an elongated arm member of rigid material with a connector arm fixed to and extending from it at a right angle. The connector arm has an elongated slot means forming a pair of spaced apart connector members, each having a peripheral cross section similar to but slightly smaller than the cross section of pockets located on opposite sides of the level web portion so that the connector members can be moved axially into said level pockets to firmly, but temporarily, secure the attachment to the level.

  • Patent number: 4383374
Abstract: A device to be worn upon the index finger to determine hair cutting angle comprising a ring mount for circling the index finger, a circular disk-like case attached to the ring mount, a face dial attached to the case circular surface inscribed with lines eminating radially from the center of the circular dial indicative of degrees of a circle, a weighted pointer pivotally attached at the center of the dial, and a lens covering the dial face and weighted pointer. The hair stylist wears the subject device upon the index finger of the hand not holding the scissors for cutting hair, takes a section of hair between the index finger about which the device resides and the middle finger, spreading the hair linearly along the fingers. The angle of inclination of the finger is adjusted until a desired angle between the weighted pointer and a scribed radial mark is obtained. The operator then cuts the section of hair at the point along the top of the fingers.

  • Patent number: 4295279
Abstract: Leveling apparatus for a hand tool such as an electric drill or reciprocating saw is comprised of both a cylindrical bubble level and circular bubble level. The cylindrical bubble level has a longitudinal axis parallel to the working axis of the tool, and thus is utilized for leveling the tool in a horizontal plane. The circular bubble level has an axis passing perpendicularly through its center which is parallel to the working axis of the tool. The circular bubble is utilized for vertically aligning the tool normal to a horizontal datum plane. The bubble of the cylindrical bubble level is viewable from a multiplicity of perspectives. The apparatus may be selectively attached to the drill of different positions on the tool to further improve visibility of the bubble levels. Alternatively, the apparatus is integrated into the housing of the drill.
