  • Patent number: 9234751
Abstract: A bubble type level for determining the orientation of a structure, such as an elongate pipe, that includes several differently oriented bubble vials that are secured within the level body in a manner such that if the bubble vials become broken or otherwise damaged, they can be easily replaced and the level need not be discarded. The bubble type level of the invention also includes a body portion having top and bottom rails that are chamfered in a manner to automatically align the level with the longitudinal axis of the pipe when the level is connected to the side of the pipe. The level further includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced magnets that are connected to the bottom rail of the level and can be used to releasably interconnect the level with a length of ferrous pipe.

  • Patent number: 7963044
Abstract: A construction level with modular detachable sections is herein disclosed. In its detached state, the level resembles a conventional two-foot level with the typical three bubble vials indicating levelness at angles of zero degrees (0°), forty-five degrees (45°), and ninety degrees (90°). If levelness over a larger distance is required, one (1) or both detachable end portions of the level are attached using sliding joints thus allowing the device to extend to a four (4) foot length. The attaching joints allow for the extension without a loss of accuracy. Each end piece has its own bubble vial to verify levelness at any point along the device. In such a manner, the device may also be used as a one-foot torpedo level. The use of the modular construction level allows for the accuracy and precision of a long level with the convenience and usability of a shorter level.

  • Patent number: 7676940
Abstract: A level includes a body having first and second arms attached to each other for relative pivotal movement about a pivot axis between open and closed positions. The level also includes a bubble vial mounted to the body and having a longitudinal axis coaxial with the pivot axis. Movement of the arms from their closed position to their open position exposes a measurement portion of the first bubble vial for use. Movement of the arms from their open position to their closed position shields the measurement portion of the first bubble vial within the body to protect the bubble vial from damage during storage.

  • Patent number: 7509749
Abstract: A molded plastic yet structurally rigid tool, such as a level, with a web extending in a generally undulating configuration. The undulating configuration of the web acts to strengthen and make the level more rigid when compared to a level with a planar web. The undulating configuration of the web is substantially symmetrical about the centerline of the level over its entire length, but may also be arranged in a number of non-planar embodiments.

  • Patent number: 6918187
Abstract: A multi plane plumb level includes an elongated rigid frame having an X shaped cross section having four walls that are rigidly joined along an elongated central portion of the X shaped cross section and extend outward from the elongated central portion of the X shaped cross section and six level indicating bubble vials that are mounted on front and back sides of the frame in opposing pairs. A pair of flip out transversely oriented bubble vials rotates from secured positions within the front and back sides to extended positions, forming extensions of frame walls to facilitate the leveling of posts, pipes and edges. The remaining two pairs of bubble vials provide level measurements in the longitudinal direction and at a 45 degree angle.

  • Patent number: 4934706
Abstract: A golf training aide is attached to a golf club shaft and visually indicates to the golfer when the club shaft is held in a vertical plane and when the club head is held in proper angular relation to the ground. An indication of vertical alignment of the shaft is given when a first bubble is centered in a first bubble tube member and an indication of proper club head position is given when a second bubble is centered in a second bubble tube member. In a first embodiment, the second bubble tube member is linear-in-configuration and is rotatable about a horizontal axis. In a second embodiment, the second bubble tube member is arcuate-in-configuration and has a fixed position.
