Only Two Patents (Class 33/501.18)
  • Patent number: 11971324
Abstract: A method for checking or testing the profile of the path of contact of involute helical cylindrical gears is disclosed. The crossed helical gear transmits motion through the profile of the path of contact, and checking or testing the profile of the path of contact can reflect the transmission quality and working stability of the gear and the actual motion condition. In the gear hobbing, the grinding, the shaving and other generating machining, the movement of tools and gears is achieved based on the profile of the path of contact, and controlling the profile of the path of contact has unique advantages in controlling the quality of gear processing.

  • Patent number: 9752860
Abstract: A system and method is provided for measuring a physical parameter of a gear. The system and method includes moving a contact probe into a start position on the pitch circle of the gear in a gap between adjacent teeth. The contact probe is moved in a path substantially along the pitch circle of the gear until the contact probe contacts the flank of one of the adjacent gear teeth at a contact point. Spatial coordinates of the contact point are determined. A measurement of a physical parameter of the gear is determined based on the spatial coordinates of the contact point.

  • Patent number: 9146089
Abstract: Method and apparatus (1) for measuring a manufacturing deviation in an external gear (2). The gear is arranged onto a stationary central pin (3), the external diameter of which is smaller than the internal diameter of the gear so that a relative movement between the gear and the pin is allowed; a coupling member (5), preferably including a head (17) that does not rotate and is adapted to fit into the teeth of the gear, is urged with a predetermined strength against the teeth of the gear in order to mesh with the teeth and concurrently bring an internal lateral surface of the gear into engagement with an external lateral surface of the pin. The position of the central axis (A) of the gear is determined and the manufacturing deviation of the gear is determined as a function of said position. The deviation so determined can be corrected as a function of a reference distance (D) indicative of the radial dimensions of the gear.

  • Patent number: 8984760
Abstract: A go/no-go gauge for hole tolerance measurement incorporates a handle, a first pin having a first diameter extending from a first end of the handle and a second pin having a second diameter extending from a second end of the handle. A force measurement element is disposed between the ends of the handle and configured to provide an indication upon exceeding a predetermined force level when attempting to insert one of the pins into a hole.
