Postage Stamp Or Mechanical Coupling Gauge Patents (Class 33/541)
  • Patent number: 11247300
Abstract: A machining fixture for semi-automatically reconditioning an articulated connector is provided. The fixture comprises a housing having at least two side walls, a top plate having a first opening connecting the side walls, and a bottom plate connecting the side walls, the side walls, top plate, and bottom plate defining an interior space. The fixture also includes a clamping mechanism attached to at least one of the side walls, the clamping mechanism comprising a curved hook portion, the curved hook portion being laterally adjustable.

  • Patent number: 7143522
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring wear and specified dimensions and aiding in the method of reconditioning of articulated connectors is disclosed. The apparatus is a drop-in bore gauge with a handle, a flange and at least one elongated fin for insertion into the bore of the female castings. Once inserted, dimensions can be determined by placement of the gauge at a reference point and observing the location of an elongated fin measuring edge relative to the bore.

  • Patent number: 5187875
Abstract: A flush pin gauge for checking the position of a center pin in a coaxial connector includes a housing, a fitting on one end of the housing for attaching to a coaxial connector, and a gauge pin slidingly restrained within the housing for engaging the center pin of the coaxial connector. When the gauge is inserted over the conductor spring within the coaxial connector, the gauge pin engages the center pin and causes it to be moved and causes it to be moved longitudinally of the housing. At an opposite end of the housing, there is provided a gauging apparatus which determines from the position of an end of the gauge pin extending through the housing the depth of the pin below the top of the conductor spring. The gauging apparatus comprises a marker which has a width corresponding to the tolerance allowed for the depth of the center pin so that if the end of the gauge pin falls within the marker width, the conductor is acceptable.

  • Patent number: 4897931
Abstract: This invention pertains to slide calipers for use with hose fittings wherein the improved construction includes caliper fingers having angles corresponding to standard hose fitting adapter sealing surface angles thus allowing the user to identify the type of adapter angle being measured. At the same time the caliper fingers act as reference points for measuring the size of a hose or fitting.

  • Patent number: 4793070
Abstract: A measuring plate (10) supports successive rows of perforation fingers (24i-k) on its upper side, the spacing and diameter of which respectively correspond to the perforations of a postage stamp. By laying .the postage stamp on a row of perforation fingers (22i), the conformity of the postage stamp perforations and measuring perforations can be checked in a tactile manner. The measuring plate (10) is connected by way of a hinge (30 to 34) to a trough-like lid member (12), which can be used for checking water-marks. The measuring plate (10) and lid member (12) together form a flat carrying case for postage stamps.

  • Patent number: 4660295
Abstract: A hand-held measuring device including an elongated base having a pair of opposed parallel metric measuring scales on the upper face thereof, a slider slidably mounted on the base having a linear indicator perpendicular to the axis of the base and a holder device for holding the stamp on the base under the slider while the slider is being moved from one end of the printed border on the stamp to the other. The left hand edge of the printed border of the stamp must be zeroed at the zero points of both scales using the indicator line. The slider is then slid to the opposite printed border on the face of the stamp while the holding means is held firmly so that the indicator line registers therewith. The precise dimension of the distance across the face of the stamp to the right hand printed border can then be read off of both scales. The indicator inscribed on the slider is perpendicular to the axis of the base. The holding device can be a thin flexible folded over piece of celluloid type plastic.
