Abstract: The present disclosure describes an improved horizontal beam optical comparator that includes a probe to follow the surface of a work-piece, moreover, providing a method for gathering changes in height and depth to measure, plot and delineate surface contours of work-pieces relative to a movable “X” axis stage, and depth along a moveable “Y” axis stage without presence in the objective lenses depth of field.
Abstract: An apparatus for the industrial measurement of bores in a measurement object is provided. The apparatus includes a measurement probe which can be introduced into the bore and at which at least one distance sensor is provided with which the instantaneous distance of a reference point of the measurement probe from a wall of the bore can be determined. The measurement probe is rotatably supported at a holder which is fixed with respect to the measurement object and/or whose position relative to the measurement object is known. An evaluation device receives a number of sequentially determined distances in the course of a rotation of the measurement probe.
Abstract: Disclosed is a bore measurement unit having an elongate main body with first and second ends. A first adjustment mechanism is disposed near the first end and a second adjustment mechanism is disposed near said second end. The adjustment mechanisms expand or contract, through triangulating arms, to relative diameters, such that when the unit is inserted into a hollow bore it may be centered therein. A measuring portion of the unit measures the internal diameter of the bore. The measuring unit includes at least one sensor and preferably takes more than three readings at each distance of insertion to formulate a best fit circle of the inner bore diameter.
Abstract: A device for locating structural stud members beneath a surface such as a shingled roof. The device includes a support block for receiving a probe member, the probe member extending from the support block at a selected arc of curvature terminating at a point spaced apart from the support block. An indicator member is fixed to the support block, the indicator member extending from the support block parallel to the probe member and having an end coextensive with the termination point of the probe member such that the indicator member provides a user with the orientation and termination point of the probe member when the probe member is beneath the surface. In use, a hole created within the surface and the support block rotated on the surface until the probe member abuts an edge of a structural stud member.
Abstract: A device for measuring an interior contour of a hollow object has a probe bar of known length mounted within a ball that pivots within a circular bearing mounted on a base plate. The base plate is mounted on the object above an external hole into the interior of the object with the lower end of the probe bar protruding into the interior of the object. The upper end of the probe bar is moved until the lower end of the probe bar contacts the interior surface of the object, then the upper end of the probe is moved further to cause the lower end to pass across the surface of the interior of the object. A laser tracker tracks a laser target mounted on the upper end of the probe bar, calculating the position of the lower end and the contour of the interior surface from the position of the laser target and known bar dimension data.
Abstract: A system for measuring inner diameter of a tubular, e.g., but not limited to, a riser or a pipe, the system including at least one linear distance measuring device movable through a hollow tubular, a main body also movable through said tubular, the at least one linear distance measuring device mounted on the main body, and the at least one linear distance measuring device for producing a measurement signal indicative of a measurement of inner diameter of the tubular.
