Adjustable Gauge Block Patents (Class 33/567.1)
  • Patent number: 10030961
Abstract: A device for measuring a gap between two objects located remotely from a user includes a base, a slider and a wedge. The slider is slidably received in the base and the wedge is attached to the slider and also slidably received in the base. A push-pull cable has a proximal end connected to the slider. The wedge is inclined at a predetermined angle and slides along an angled surface of the base such that a force applied to a distal end of the cable causes an upper surface of the wedge to move vertically forcing the wedge and the base into respective contact with the two objects forming the gap. By measuring the distance that the push-pull cable slides, the vertical distance traveled by the wedge and thus a measurement of the gap may be determined.

Abstract: A depth gauge and adjustment tool (1) having a handle (2) having a shaft (3) extending from one end of the handle. A tip (4) having a cross pin (5) attached thereto extends from the shaft. A sleeve (9) fits over the cap (6), shaft and handle and slides back an forth along the cap, shaft and handle while the depth gauge and adjustment tool 1 is in use. The sleeve houses a sleeve spring (10), which provides resistance between the sleeve and the handle. A lip (11) on the inner surface (12) of the sleeve pushes against one end of the sleeve spring and prevents the sleeve from sliding past a predetermined point on the handle. Measurement markings (13) located on the handle are used in conjunction with the sliding sleeve to measure the depth of an adjustable fastener receptacle (21).

  • Patent number: 7849607
Abstract: An adjustable measuring gauge has at least two sized and shaped operatively associated members made of a durable material. The lower member has an upper side and a first elongated and square side edge with a plurality of measurements beginning at zero marked at the upper surface. At least one upper member is slidably and adjustably connected to the lower member and has a second elongated square side edge disposed in assembled position on adjustable movement of the upper and lower member to uncover and reveal the desired measurement marked on the lower member. Elongated aligned slots and threaded pegs are provided to achieve unidirectional movement for an accurate measurement. A clamping assembly is provided to both hold the operative associated members so the adjustable measuring gauge can be reused for another measurement; further, a non-skid fabric on at least the upper member to facilitate use and handling.

  • Patent number: 7810251
Abstract: A motorized leveling stage capable of adjusting the angular position of a work piece relative to a reference plane includes an upper stage, a lower stage, and a hinge coupling corresponding edges of the two stages together for relative pivotal movement of the stages. A first spring pivotally biases the upper and lower stages toward each other about the axis of the hinge. A slide is disposed for sliding movement on an upper surface of the lower stage in a direction generally perpendicular to the hinge axis. The slide includes an upper surface defining an inclined plane disposed in sliding abutment with a lower surface of the upper stage such that movement of the slide toward and away from the hinge respectively raises and lowers the upper stage relative to the lower stage. A motorized drive assembly is operable to control movement of the slide relative to the hinge.

  • Patent number: 7043851
Abstract: A mechanical support device for assisting individuals in setting up, creating, and verifying concentricity and roundness of a step cylindrical feature. The mechanical support device comprises a base and an adjustable section that is removably coupled to the base. The angle present in a groove located between the base and the adjustable section is designed to be either sixty, ninety, or one hundred twenty degrees. Items that are designed to be concentric with extremely low standards for variance would be placed flat within the groove and hand-rotated to check for any variance present. The mechanical support device can alternatively be used as a planer gage.

  • Patent number: 6904694
Abstract: The body tool has a rectangular shape with two projections and a central passage for a Pinewood Derby® car body. The holes in one projection align with the other projection. A child places a car body into the passage so the kerf for an axle aligns with the holes in the projections. Alternately, the body alignment tool has two jaws upon a threaded rod closed by a wing nut that grasp a car body. The child then drills through the holes and the car body to straighten the kerf to accept an axle. The child then removes the car body from the body tool and inserts an axle into the new kerf.

  • Patent number: 6513258
Abstract: A hand-held adjustable scribe block for aiding in the installation of trim around doors and windows includes a first body member and a second body member in a slidable relationship to each other. First body member has a generally planar engagement surface that is in a facing relationship with a generally planar engagement surface on the second body member. First body member includes a longitudinal slot disposed along its longitudinal axis for receiving a pin member to prevent rotation of the first body member relative to the second body member. A locking mechanism, comprising a screw member having an arm member attached thereto, locks the first body member to the second body member to set the longitudinal offset of the two body members. Once set, the user can utilize the scribe block to set the amount of distance the trim is set back from the door jamb or window opening. The first ends of both body members is shaped at a 90 degree angle to facilitate locating the inside corner of the door or window trim.
