Pin And Slot Type Patents (Class 33/570)
  • Patent number: 6109839
Abstract: A kit for repairing a worn out of round aperture. The kit includes a template which is later utilized as a part of the repair. In a first embodiment, the template is precisely located by means of utilizing the bottom of the aperture which does not become out of round as does the upper portion thereof and is fixedly attached to the structure containing the out of round aperture. A sacrificial pin is inserted in the out of round aperture, centered therein by means of the bottom non-out of round portion and adhered thereto. A drill is then passed through the boring guide enlarging the out of round aperture to a true round bore and the sacrificial pin is drilled out at the same time. The boring guide is then removed and an enlarged precision pin is inserted into the re-bored aperture. The new pin is fixedly secured in the new aperture by any convenient means such as peening between the pin outer surface and the adjacent structure.

  • Patent number: 6082190
Abstract: An adapter for facilitating the measurement of the angular inclination of components having yokes secured thereto in a vehicular drive train system. The adapter includes a cylindrical shaft portion having an end portion connected to one end thereof. The shaft portion is sized to correspond to the diameter of the opposed bearing cup openings, whether cylindrical as found in a full round end yoke or semi-cylindrical as found in a half round end yoke. The end portion extends perpendicular to the cylindrical shaft and provides a surface upon which an inclinometer may be disposed to measure the relative angular orientation of the yoke. If desired, a slot may be formed in the surface of the shaft portion to accommodate one or more nibs formed on the half round end yoke.

  • Patent number: 4624057
Abstract: A method and apparatus for positioning matting for picture frames and the like under an oval cutter so that ovals or other configurations can be cut in the matting about the perimeter of circles of varying diameter. The positioning template comprises a first plate which slides on the base of the oval cutter and a second plate which rotates on the first plate. Holes in the first and second plates align so that an indexing peg stops rotation of the second plate at various preselected equiangular positions.
