Abstract: An apparatus for locating a central axis of a spinal column and method of using the same is disclosed. The apparatus and method includes one or more members capable of spanning a center line which may then be identified by at least one additional member positioned therebetween. Furthermore, the device may contain or be capable of accommodating various additional tools for marking the location of the central axis of a spinal column.
Abstract: A caliper for measuring the size of an object, especially the thickness of an object with non-planar surfaces. After measured, the caliper can be removed from the object without changing the measured value. The caliper includes a scale ruler, a vernier slidably disposed on the scale ruler, a first jaw fixedly connected to the scale ruler and a second jaw pivotally connected to the vernier. In normal state, the second jaw is kept in a position in alignment with and in parallel to the first jaw, whereby the caliper can be used to measure the object in a common manner. After measured, the second jaw is rotated to another position, permitting the caliper to be removed from the measured object.
Abstract: A measurement tool 10 comprises a first leg 12, a second leg 14 pivotally connected to the first leg 12, and a scale 22 associate with the first leg 12, wherein the scale 22 provides, in conjunction with the relative positions of the legs 12, 14, information relating to the value of a parameter of a pipe section and/or elevator.

Abstract: A hand tool that can measure standard or metric hardware fasteners. By opening the tool and closing it on the nut or fastener, it will show the correct size of the fastener on a two sided graduated scale, one side for standard sizes and the other for metric, which is intergraded into the tool. The tool has a locking mechanism that can insure accurate measurement after the tool is removed from the fastener. The tool is compact to be able to reach hard to reach work areas.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for selecting products, in particular tyre patches, depending on the size of damage previously done to the tyre. For this purpose, two legs (1, 2) are connected in a rotatable manner to a hinge joint (3). The legs (1, 2) have tapering areas (4) in the area of the measuring ends. A power element (5) is positioned in such a way that the legs (1, 2) are returned to the starting position upon completion of the selection process. In the area of the measuring ends of the legs (1, 2), projections (6) are formed which are oriented in a direction of movement which corresponds to a movement separating the tapering areas (4) of the legs (1, 2). On at least one of the legs (1, 2), a display area (7) is provided in which during the selection process at least one product is selected or displayed depending on the position of the other leg (1) in the display area (7).
Abstract: A gauge for measuring both the depth and the diameter of a bore hole comprises a member having a first longitudinal slot therethrough and a surface perpendicular to the slot to engage the face of the bore hole; a first arrangement slidably engaging the slot adjacent one end thereof having a first protrusion extending below the surface; a second arrangement slidably engaging the member adjacent the other end of the slot having first and second arms thereon each disposed at a given angle with respect to and on opposite sides of the member, each of the first and second arms having a second protrusion extending below the surface; the first protrusion and second protrusions engaging a selected one of an inner surface of the bore hole and an outer surface concentric with the inner surface of the bore hole to cooperate in aligning the member with the center line and the diameter of the bore hole; a third arrangement slidably engaging the first slot and the member to measure the depth of the bore hole; and a fourth a
Abstract: A tool adapted to be manipulated single-handed for providing a direct reading of the size of small objects, particularly nuts and bolt heads. The tool includes a pair of tongs which are activated by a thumb slide. The latter is disposed in a slot formed in a planar surface of the tool. Scales, such as SAE and metric, are placed on opposite sides of the slot in operative side-by-side relation. The thumb slide includes a pair of index projections on opposite sides thereof which overlie the scales. Movement of the thumb slide to the point of contact of the extremities of the tongs with the object to be measured, provides a direct reading of the size of the object via the projections and scale markings. The tool includes a lubrication chamber and applicator for use in lubricating couplings and fasteners.
