Motor-operated Patents (Class 334/20)
  • Patent number: 9991911
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for automatically adjusting one or more tunable passive antennas and a single-input-port and single-output-port tuning unit. The invention also relates to an apparatus for radio communication using this method, for instance a radio transceiver. An apparatus for radio communication of the invention comprises: a tunable passive antenna; a feeder; a single-input-port and single-output-port tuning unit; a sensing unit; a transmission and signal processing unit which applies an excitation to the input port, which delivers one or more antenna adjustment instructions, and which delivers one or more tuning unit adjustment instructions; and a control unit which delivers one or more antenna control signals to the tunable passive antenna, and one or more tuning control signals to the single-input-port and single-output-port tuning unit.

  • Patent number: 6085605
Abstract: An actuator for creating linear movement is provided. The actuator includes a motor having a rotatable motor axle. As the rotatable motor axle rotates, it uses internal threads to transfer rotational motion to external threads of a movement axle. By transferring the rotational motion of motor axle to the movement axle, the motor's rotating movement is changed into linear movement. This linear movement can then used for moving a frequency control element such as those used in filters, which are in-turn used in the base station of a cellular radio network.

  • Patent number: 4511869
Abstract: A system and method for adjusting the frequency of operation of a radio frequency circuit including an inductive loop having an adjustable exposed inductor portion is provided. The frequency of operation of the circuit is first detected with means for detecting a parameter relating to and representing the frequency of operation. The adjustable inductor portion is associated with a selectively movable actuator device coupled to the frequency detecting means and a source of signals representing a predetermined frequency of operation for the circuit. A control circuit means, preferably a computer, is coupled to the detecting means and to the source of signals to provide an output control signal when the detected frequency of operation bears a predetermined relationship to the predetermined frequency of operation.

  • Patent number: 4234960
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically tuning a circuit to a radio frequency signal. The apparatus has a signal supply for supplying the radio frequency signal to the circuit. A frequency counter and variable impedance are also connected in the circuit. A motor changes the setting of the variable impedance to vary its impedance. The frequency counter is connected to the signal supply means and produces a digital signal representative of the frequency of the radio frequency signal for controlling operation of the motor. The impedance of the circuit is thus varied in relation to the frequency of the radio frequency signal to provide coarse tuning of the circuit.
