Abstract: In a switch device in which the main circuit contact sections of the switch device, an insulating rod, a driving rod, a contact pressure spring, an open spring, and an electromagnet are all coaxially arranged, a problem exists in that the axial dimension of the switch device becomes large. The present invention has been made to solve the aforementioned problem. An object is to obtain an electromagnet device and a switch device using the electromagnet device, in which shortening the axial dimension of the switch device is achieved by arranging the main circuit contact sections of the switch device, the insulating rod, the driving rod, the contact pressure spring, the open spring, and a part of the electromagnet in the same axial range. Particularly, the open spring and the electromagnet are arranged in the same axial region.

The housing and core can have magnetic poles aligned in a natural position at a natural magnetic state. The device can include an armature with a coil that provides armature magnetic poles. The armature magnetic poles are not aligned with the housing magnetic poles. As such, energizing the armature can cause the core to transition from the natural position at the natural magnetic state to an energized position in an energized magnetic state. The core magnetic poles are aligned with the armature magnetic poles when energized. A method can be used that transitions the core when the coil is energized. Abstract: With a switchgear provided with an electromagnetic mechanism of the invention, a bolt rod is disposed for an opening spring whose load acts over an entire movable range of a moving core so as to receive a load of the opening spring in an expanding direction by the bolt rod. A load of the opening spring in the expanding direction is thus received by the bolt rod. The opening spring is compressed and expanded by rotating the bolt rod to be moved by the screw structure. Hence, in a case where maintenance is performed while maintaining a contact at an intermediate position between an opening position and a closing position, it becomes possible to perform a manual opening and closing operation at a lower speed than a de-energization operation while holding the contact at the intermediate position between the opening position and the closing position.
