Coil Connections Changed By Moving Coil (e.g., Coil Substitution) Patents (Class 336/142)
  • Publication number: 20120223796
Abstract: A variable inductor includes an inductor element and a first inductance adjusting circuit. The first inductance adjusting circuit includes a first open-loop structure and a first switch element. The first switch element is coupled to the first open-loop structure. When the first switch element is in a conducting state, the first open-loop structure and the first switch element forms a first closed-loop to induce a first magnetic flux which alters a magnetic flux from the inductor element in operation.

  • Patent number: 7310038
Abstract: A system for selecting coil voltage in an electrical device comprises a housing and a coil in the housing having a plurality of windings. Each winding has a pair of pins. A slider supports a plurality of moveable contacts and is moveably mounted in the housing proximate the coil so that the plurality of moveable contacts selectively make or break electrical contact between the winding pins to select coil voltage.

  • Patent number: 4713642
Abstract: A face connected instrument transformer is disclosed having a plurality of transformation ratios comprised of two primary windings and a single secondary winding. Each primary winding is electrically connected to a pair of terminals disposed adjacent to opposite faces of the transformer housing for engaging contacts within a molded case circuit breaker housing. The transformation ratio of the instrument transformer is changed by removing the instrument transformer from the circuit breaker housing and inserting the opposite face.

  • Patent number: 4607211
Abstract: To compensate for voltage ratio errors in a cascaded core instrument potential transformer, the coils of an outer coupling winding otherwise utilized to magnetically couple an adjacent pair of cores together are electrically connected into the primary winding circuit to either add its turns to or subtract its turns from the primary winding turns in order to bring the secondary winding output voltage within acceptable accuracy tolerance limits.
