  • Patent number: 8154376
Abstract: A configuration for fuses and a method of manufacturing is disclosed. A fuse body is made with slots on the ends, allowing solder a greater surface area to grip the body and form an excellent bond. The slots communicate with a central cavity in the fuse body. The improvements relate primarily to surface mount fuses because of the great volume of such fuses in commerce, but may be applied to fuses of any size.

  • Patent number: 8085123
Abstract: An exhaust control device includes a wear indicator disposed within a housing of the exhaust control device. The wear indicator is arranged to be exposed to a flow of exhaust gas through the exhaust control device. The wear indicator has a first observable state indicative of remaining useful life of the exhaust control device. The wear indicator is responsive to a flow of exhaust gas through the exhaust control device to assume a second observable state indicative of the exhaust control device having reached the end of its useful life.

  • Patent number: 4837546
Abstract: A fuse block with a fuse formed of a single piece of fusible metal having a narrowed mid-section and wider end tongues which electrically couple the fuse block to disconnect terminals of an electrical system. A plastic housing covers the portions of the tongue adjoining the mid-section. The housing has a central aperture exposing all sides of the narrowed mid-section of the fusible element to the air. The aperture prevents the housing from acting as a heat sink for the fusible element and from interfering with the prompt reaction of the fuse to an electrical overload.

  • Patent number: 4446450
Abstract: A thermostat device comprises a thermostat unit having a surface which faces in a first direction and which is preferably disposed in thermally-coupled heat-transfer relation to an object whose temperature is to be monitored so that the thermostat unit is promptly responsive to an object temperature, the unit also having other surfaces which face in an opposite direction. A metal mounting bracket plate has a base portion, has a stud secured to the base portion to extend in one direction from the base for securing the plate to the object to be monitored in thermally-coupled heat-transfer relation to the object, and has integral spring portions upstanding from respective opposite ends of the base portion of the plate.
