Rotary Selector Means Patents (Class 337/289)
  • Patent number: 7012498
Abstract: A fuse holder assembly (1) is provided having at least two electrically insulated fuse housings in the form of passages (5, 33) associated with the body and each of which is adapted to receive a fuse (6) held under tension therein by means of an elongate tension member (7) and cooperating spring loaded tensioning element. The fuse housings have separate intermediate contacts (16, 17, 34, 35) at one end adapted for sequential connection to a circuit contact (20) by way of a rotatable conductive arm (18, 37) spring loaded to effect rotation of the arm from one intermediate contact to the other. Stop means (22, 23, 36 39) for temporarily maintaining the arm in association with one intermediate contact against the spring loading of the arm acts to release the arm for movement towards a subsequent intermediate contact only when the spring loaded tensioning element has substantially reached the end of its operative movement to clear the blown fuse.

  • Patent number: 6753485
Abstract: A rotary switch containing fuse capabilities. An electrical contact disc is rotatively mounted in a housing. A handle assembly is mounted to the electrical contact disc and rotates therewith, and is replaceably mounted in the housing so as to allow the handle assembly to be removed from the housing and prevent inadvertent operation of the rotary switch. A pin extends in the handle assembly and a fuse retainer and engages a horse shoe clip, and in doing so, axially movably attaches the fuse retainer to a fuse-holding disc. The pin then extends in a bushing. A pair of blind slots in the pin engage a hair pin clip, and in so doing, the handle assembly can rotate relative to, but cannot be removed from, the housing, unless the pin is rotated 90 degrees, which would orientate the pair of through slots out of engagement with the hair pin clip.

  • Patent number: 4196409
Abstract: A multiple fuse device having a multiple fuse assembly within the device rotatable about an axis in fixed directions through at least a certain predetermined angle and having at least two rotational positions in which at least one fresh fuse is connected between an electrical source and a load circuit, the improvement characterized by the assembly having a body with a conductor carrying portion having a plurality of radially extending angularly spaced apart separate conductors carried by said portion, at least three adjacent ones of said conductors being connected in a set in series each to its adjacent conductor by fuse means and at least one of the conductors in this set being connected with the source and an adjacent conductor simultaneously being connected with the load circuit to fusibly connect one line of the load circuit with the electrical source when the assembly is in a selected rotational position.
