Abstract: A reflowable thermal fuse includes a conduction element with first and second ends, disposed within a housing. The reflowable thermal fuse also includes an elastic element disposed within the housing and adapted to apply force on the conduction element in an activated state of the reflowable thermal fuse. A restraining element is utilized to secure the elastic element and prevent the elastic element from applying force on the conduction element in an installation state of the reflowable thermal fuse. Application of an activating current through the restraining element causes the restraining element to break and thereby release the elastic element and place the reflowable thermal fuse in the activated state.

Abstract: A control device, a slide member therefor and methods of making the same are provided, the slide member being movable in a linear direction and having a cam for acting on a range spring of the control device, the frame of the control device having a substantially flat section provided with opposed sides and with a slot passing through the sides thereof, the slide member having a first part thereof acting against one of the sides of the section and a second part thereof acting against the other of the sides of the section, the slide member having a third part thereof disposed in the slot of the section and interconnecting the first part and the second part together, the first part of the slide member comprising roller bearings disposed in rolling contact with the one side of the section of the frame.
Abstract: In a thermostat type operating temperature setting apparatus, a slider is employed to preset the operating temperatures of electric appliances by sliding the slider along a long sliding path. The operating temperature setting apparatus includes a frame, a converter for converting temperature changes into pressure variations, a thermostat switching member for selectively changing bistable switching positions in response to the pressure variations, a rod for adjusting the operating temperature, a tension spring coupled between the adjusting rod and the switching member, for biasing the adjusting rod in a first direction, a slider, and a cam lever pivotably journaled to a fulcrum fixed on the frame and connected to the adjusting rod, for being slidably in touch with the slider. The setting apparatus further includes a conical compression spring mounted on the adjusting rod, for biasing the adjusting rod in a second direction opposite to the first direction.
Abstract: A temperature responsive electrical switch device has means operable generally for switching between a pair of switching means, and temperature responsive means is operable generally at a set-point temperature for effecting the operation of the switching means. Means is linearly movable in response to an applied force exerted thereon and arranged in camming engagement with an associated part of the temperature responsive means for setting the set-point temperature.
