Publication number: 20030085792Abstract: A temperature sensitive circuit breaker includes two contacts electrically mounted on a circuit board and an insulating pivot seat attached to the circuit board between the two contacts. A lever has a first end pivotally connected to the pivot seat and connected to one of the contacts, and a second end electrically connected to the other contact. A non-metallic expansive rod is mounted on the circuit board below the lever to push the lever upward to make the second end of lever separate from the contact when a high temperature on the circuit board is transferred to the expansive rod. The breaking member causes a high temperature to melt itself when a current passes through the breaking member to open a circuit on the circuit board.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2001Publication date: May 8, 2003Inventor: Chin-Chi Yang

Patent number: 5699033Abstract: An insulating housing (41) with an inner space (42) to accommodate a switch (12) with temperature-dependent switching device which has to be mechanically and/or electrically protected is described. The switch (12) displays two electrically conductive terminal areas which ensure the electrical contact of the switch (12) to the contact parts (24, 25) of a holder (23) or an electrical consumer (57). The insulating housing (41) has at least one opening (46, 50) through which the contact parts (24, 25) make direct contact with the two terminal areas and clamp the switch (12) between them. The electrical consumer (57) hereby displays two contact parts (24, 25) which form a seat for the switch (12). Moreover, two terminal elements (58, 59) are provided to supply electricity to the consumer (57), whereby the first terminal element (59) and the first contact part (24) are directly connected to the consumer (57) whereas the second terminal element (58) is connected to the second contact part (25).Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 1996Date of Patent: December 16, 1997Inventor: Marcel Hofsass

Patent number: 5321381Abstract: A base (1) provided with movable and mechanically loaded operational parts has a planar, plate-like base body (3), to which are fixed support bodies (5 to 9) located on an assembly side (4) with plate-like connecting parts (17, 18) exclusively by means of adhesive connections (10), such as melted joints, so as to be closely engaging and correctly operationally positioned. This construction is suitable for numerous switching, control and regulating devices and permits simple manufacture, low weight, high strength, good accessibility and high operational reliability.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1992Date of Patent: June 14, 1994Assignee: E.G.O. Patent number: 4901049Abstract: In a temperature limiter (1) with a rod-like temperature sensor (6), the outer tube is formed by a continuously tensile-stressed insulating tube (7) extending into a base (2). An inner rod (8), optionally articulated two or more times in the longitudinal direction, is constructed as a continuously pressure-loaded rod, characterized by temperature-dependent length expansion. The temperature limiter (1), e.g., for a glass ceramic unit, may have a circuit breaker (5) closer to the temperature sensor, and a more-remote signal switch (4). In that case, for operating the remote signal switch, a flat bar-like transfer member (9) traverses both switches through openings (54). The transfer member is coupled at the associated end and in adjustable manner with an operating member (30) for the signal switch (4), receiving the adjustment member (34). The parts are constantly held together in clearance-free manner by the tension of a restoring spring (40).Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1988Date of Patent: February 13, 1990Assignee: E.G.O. Patent number: 4724414Abstract: In an electrical switchgear having a common housing for a thermostatic expansion material element and at least two electrical snap switches that can be actuated by a working piston of the expansion material element, the snap switches are electrically separated from one another and each have their own rocker for switching the snap switches in response to displacement of the working piston. The switching rockers move in parallel paths and are arranged to at least one side of the longitudinal center of the working piston.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1986Date of Patent: February 9, 1988Assignee: Behr-Thomson Dehnstoffregler GmbHInventor: Manfred Kurz

Patent number: 4697068Abstract: A heating unit for cooking points, baking oven muffles or the like is provided on the inside of its outer body (2), in the central zone (10), with two thermal cutouts (17, 18), which are preferably located in a common cutout casing (19) exclusively located in said central zone (10) and sense with their temperature sensors (24, 25) different regions of the heating surface or outer body (2). The differently set thermal cutouts (17, 18) and the heating resistors (7, 8, 9) separately connected into the leads ensure a differentiated disconnection of a more or less large part of the heating power, so that rerliable protection against overheating is ensured, in the case of a compact construction.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1986Date of Patent: September 29, 1987Assignee: E.G.O. Patent number: 4544831Abstract: In a cooking and heating apparatus, a device for warning personnel of dangerously hot temperature is incorporated within the structure of a thermostat which has a switch for regulating the flow of electric current to a heating element of the apparatus. The thermostat includes a push rod mechanically coupled to a finger-like termination which extends through an aperture in an arm of the regulating switch to engage the arm of a further switch used in activating a warning indication. A collar on the termination engages the arm of the regulating switch subsequent to the activation of the further switch by the rod. The rod expands with increasing temperature and, thereby, initiates the warning at a lower temperature than the temperature of the power cut off by the regulating switch.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1984Date of Patent: October 1, 1985Assignee: Electrovac Fabrikation elektrotechnischer Spezialartikel Gesellschaft m.b.H.Inventor: Helmut Bayer
