Alternately Or Selectively Actuated Patents (Class 337/87)
  • Patent number: 5659454
Abstract: The apparatus detects the fact that a predetermined temperature threshold, in particular a low temperature threshold, has been crossed, and prevents any subsequent use of the appliance. The apparatus includes a reversible thermostatic switch capable of changing from a first stable state to a second stable state, and of delivering an alarm signal when it finds itself in the second state; and control means co-operating with the switch to respond to the alarm signal by delivering a disable signal for disabling the electronic appliance. According to the invention, the apparatus further includes a DC voltage source (15), an electrical or electronic component (17) capable of taking two states corresponding to said first and second stable states connected in a loop with the voltage source and the switch so that a current passing through the thermostatic switch causes a change from the first state to the second state.

  • Patent number: 5392021
Abstract: An electromagnetic multi-stage switch composed of a lower and an upper support seats, an electromagnetic coil, a rotary shaft, a restoring spring and a driving iron plate. A shaft member is fixedly disposed between the upper and lower support seats and a rotary shaft is axially movably fitted around the shaft member to axially move between the upper and lower support seats. The upper and lower support seats and rotary shaft are formed with corresponding driving teeth and engaging teeth.

  • Patent number: 5274525
Abstract: A data-recording machine is protected against temperature overshoots by a device (12) for protecting electrical lines comprising two blister-type thermosensitive elements (10C, 10F) which control series-connected electric contacts (7C, 7F) so as to close the electrical line outside the normal operating range and to prohibit operation even after a return to said range.

  • Patent number: 4739187
Abstract: A self-contained switch unit for controlling a remote illuminating lamp has, in a common housing, a main ON/OFF switch, and has an emergency signal ON/OFF switch in a common housing, and has a visible pilot lamp. The main ON/OFF switch controls the ON or OFF mode of the illuminating lamp. The emergency signal ON/OFF switch functions, when the main ON/OFF switch is in the ON mode, to cause the controlled illuminating lamp to flash as a signal. When the controlled lamp is lighted, the pilot lamp is dark. When the controlled lamp is dark, the pilot lamp is lighted. When the controlled lamp is in the flashing mode, the pilot lamp also is in a flashing mode.

  • Patent number: 4414524
Abstract: A thermally responsive switch is particularly adapted to perform a plurality of electrical control functions on an automotive engine in response to changes in engine temperature. The switch is characterized by a structure permitting the switch operating temperatures to be easily matched to the requirements of specific automotive applications. The switch mounts first electrical contacts on an insulating support and incorporates spring means mounted on a carrier, second contacts mounted on the spring means, and thermally responsive, snap-acting bimetallic discs or the like which are easily disposed between the respective spring means and the carrier to move the second contacts relative to the carrier in response to temperature change.

  • Patent number: 4164724
Abstract: A bimetallic thermo-release, especially for protective motor switches, comprising at least one bimetallic release element connected with connections for the connection of electrical lines or conductors. The bimetallic thermo-release having a bimetallic compensation element for temperature compensation and a release or trigger element which can be activated as a function of the bending or deflection of the bimetallic release element and the bimetallic compensation element. A heat-conducting connection is provided between the bimetallic compensation element and at least one connection at which there is connected one of the electrical lines.
