  • Patent number: 5802735
Abstract: A dryer for drying dental models includes a solid base member, a top member, a variable plurality of modular drying units, each of which includes a frame and a slidable, foraminous tray, an air blower and an articulated support arm. In use, the modular drying units are positioned in an over-and-under stacked relation, such that the slidable trays therein form a column of trays. Each slidable tray contains a central aperture and a duct extending upward from the perimeter of the central aperture. The aperture and duct in the center of each tray collectively form a channel running through the center of the column of trays. The base member is fixedly connected to the articulated support arm, which supports the dryer. The top member, which is positioned on top of the uppermost modular drying unit, includes a central aperture with an inlet tube inserted therein and exhaust vents around the perimeter of its top surface for the release of air.

  • Patent number: 5632097
Abstract: An apparatus and method for final drying of harvested brine shrimp cysts preparatory to containerization, for subsequent storage and shipment. The device is portable, and may be installed upon the near shore of the shrimp bearing body of water, or upon shrimp harvesting vessels. A closed drying chamber contains a vertically arranged series of cyst drying trays, the cysts cascading downward from tray to tray by gravity assisted by vibration of the trays from top to bottom of the drying chamber. Conveying and lifting apparatus is associated with the chamber to permit the recirculation of the cysts until a sufficient degree of dryness is obtained. Heated air is introduced into the stationary drying chamber. The apparatus provides for final separation of any broken shrimp cysts still remaining.

  • Patent number: 5466290
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for coating a product such as a medicament in the shape of a tablet. The apparatus includes a plurality of plates for receiving and retaining the products and means for advancing the plates on a conveyor to various processing stations. At a dipping station, a dipping means lowers and raises at least one plate into a first coating tank for coating at least a portion of the product. At a rotating station, a rotation means rotates one of the plates containing the product for spreading the coating on the product. After rotation, a first elevator transfers the plates from the conveyor to a dryer disposed above the conveyor. A second elevator transfers the plates from the dryer back to the conveyor for further processing. The dryer includes complementary acting pusher bars for transporting a plurality of plates horizontally along a plurality of vertically spaced guides.
