Abstract: This device aids in the drying or curing process of a turkey tail. The device consists of a flat surface (back plate) with holes and dowels to tack the individual primary turkey tail feathers in a desired drying position. Also, the lower section of the back plate consists of a tray used to contain a chemical that will hasten the drying time. A stabilizing block is placed in the chemical tray over the meaty part of the turkey tail and fastened to the back plate with a bolt and wing nut. The device and the turkey tail can then be placed upright in a small space, or hung on a nail or screw using the slot on the rear of the back plate, for the drying duration.

  • Patent number: 6367165
Abstract: A device for treating particulate product has a process chamber for receiving and treating the product. A bottom of the process chamber is constructed from substantially plane baffle plates overlapping each other with slots formed between said overlapping plates. Process air can be introduced into the process chamber via said slots between said plates with a substantially horizontal component of motion. Said baffle plates and the resulting slots are arranged in such a way that two opposite flows of incoming process air are produced. Said two opposite flows are directed along a substantially horizontal path and meet along a breaking-up zone and are then deflected to form an upwardly directed, substantially vertical flow.

Abstract: A modular biofiltration support system is quickly erectable in virtually any size and shape using plastic modules that are interconnected at the site. Included in the system are bed platform modules which assemble together to form a bed platform to support the weight of the biofilter medium within the area defined by the frame, and a multiplicity of bed support legs which are assembled into the bed platform modules to hold the bed platform at a raised position above the ground, defining a plenum for entering gases, between the ground and the bed platform. In one embodiment, at least some of the legs include air directing vanes which can be oriented in positions to cause generally even distribution of the gases within the plenum. The bed platform modules have openings to direct the gases to flow upwardly through the biofilter medium.
