Patent number: 11001042Abstract: A method of manufacturing a treated sheet includes preparing a resin layer composite including a resin sheet and a thermoplastic resin layer supported on one surface of the resin sheet, applying a dispersion liquid including a powdery thermoplastic resin raw material onto a surface of the thermoplastic resin layer opposite to the resin sheet, and fusing the thermoplastic resin raw material to the thermoplastic resin layer by irradiating, with light from a flash lamp, a coating of the thermoplastic resin raw material formed in the applying step. The thermoplastic resin raw material has a melting point higher than the glass transition point of a resin that is a primary material of the resin sheet.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2018Date of Patent: May 11, 2021Assignee: MURATA MANUFACTURING CO., LTD.Inventors: Ryosuke Takada, Hiroyuki Ohata

Publication number: 20120255192Abstract: A method for drying a thin film stack having a thin film located on a substrate is disclosed. The thin film stack is conveyed past a flashlamp during which the thin film stack is irradiated with a composite light pulse from the flashlamp. The composite light pulse is composed of multiple micropulses. The time duration of the composite light pulse is shorter than a total thermal equilibration time of the thin film stack. In addition, when the thin film stack is being conveyed past the flashlamp, the thin film stack should move less than 10% of the length of the irradiating area in the conveyance direction during the delivery of the composite light pulse.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2012Publication date: October 11, 2012Inventors: Kurt A. Schroder, Ian M. Rawson, Steven C. McCool, Andrew E. Edd, Ronald I. Dass

Patent number: 7428786Abstract: A method for manufacturing a fiber web having a three-dimensional surface structure and a strength. The method includes the steps of pre-imprinting the fiber web, pressing the fiber web and forming the fiber web. The pre-imprinting step pre-imprints the fiber web at a dry content of less than 25% with an imprinting band using a first pressure field. The pressing step presses the fiber web onto the imprinting band using a second pressure field. The pressing step further dewaters and dries the fiber web fixing the three-dimensional surface structure and the strength. The forming step forms the fiber web on the imprinting band.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2006Date of Patent: September 30, 2008Assignee: Voith Paper Patent GmbHInventors: Jeffrey Herman, David A. Beck, Thomas Thoróe Scherb

Patent number: 7150110Abstract: A method an apparatus for manufacturing a fiber web, in particular a web of tissue or hygiene material, provided with a three-dimensional surface structure, whereby the fiber web is pressed at a dry content of <25% onto an imprinting fabric by way of a first pressure field and is thereby pre-imprinted and is subsequently once more pressed onto an imprinting fabric by way of a further pressure field for further dewatering and drying in order to fix the three-dimensional surface structure and strength. Moreover, the dry content is achieved by a favorably priced apparatus instead of by a TAD drying apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2002Date of Patent: December 19, 2006Assignee: Voith Paper Patent GmbHInventors: Jeffrey Herman, David A. Publication number: 20030154622Abstract: A lumber sticker for separating lumber, comprised of an elongated rectangular shaped block with generally rounded-off sides. The lumber sticker has channels cut into the top and bottom surfaces, traversing the width at substantially a diagonal. The channels are cut in an arcuate concave shape or a V-shape, and in one embodiment, the channels are cut at 45 degree angles relative to the lengths of the surfaces such that the channels of the top surface are perpendicular to the channels of the bottom surface. In yet another embodiment, the deepest point of each channel is at the midpoint of each channel. The point of contact between the lumber sticker and the wood panels is a substantially flat plateau between each channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2003Publication date: August 21, 2003Inventor: James F. Patent number: 6490811Abstract: A drying section for drying and controlling shrinkage of a moist fiber web in a paper making machine is provided, the web having a predetermined width and opposed transverse ends. Such a drying section comprises a plurality of drying section members configured to receive and forward the web in a machine direction. Each drying section member has opposed ends in a transverse direction. The drying section members further comprise a first drying section member and a second drying section member, with the second drying section member being separated from the first drying section member so as to define an intermediate zone therebetween. The drying section further comprises a primary belt set having a belt member wrapping about each of the opposed ends of each of the drying section members. Each belt member is configured in an endless loop and has a width less than half of the width of the web.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2000Date of Patent: December 10, 2002Assignee: Metso Paper Karlstad ABInventor: Torbjörn Wahlström
